I didn't mind Parham's 32...Rc2 in the end. In the sense that it hoped to narrow the field for white. I have lost a lot of games in a race. Perhaps its a even more fitting for a game like chess, as draws are seen as a disappointment. Even if Parham saw the alternative checkmate, it was a fair heads-up for Rapport. At worse it was Parham that would look bad.
Chess is not what it used to be and as this was not a classical game, i didn't mind at all.
Look at me, after Parham's 21...Rc8, I wanted to go 23. Qxh4, sack the queen after 23...Be3+ 24.BxB RxQ and then say 'wow look at that!' and when Black looked away, slide blacks pawn from b7 to c7, then play 25 Ng7+ and 26 Bg5# while also forking the presumptuous rook for good measure.

The key moment 3;23, you have to close the fight over e6 with your knight. Anyway, Parham saborded his own defense. Before Rapport, it's suicidal. Like his last move... I guess Parham was in morbid mood that day. :))
