Hello Sir ! I wanted to thank you for your super interesting and enjoyable videos on ANSYS. I am currently a student and still a beginner with ANSYS software. Could you possibly create a video or advise me on simulating the charging of a lithium-ion battery cell and plotting its state of charge (SOC) over time? Thanks in advance!
Did you find how to plot SoC vs Time ? Leg know how to do do this... I want to plot this for discharge condition... After performing thermal simulation
Hello, the battery cycle was defined in a text file called cycle.txt. Then it was loaded in the MSMD panel. The file and its content was described at the beginning of the session. Sure, we can do the same in Matlab as well. In future, there will be a playlist of simulations of Battery in Matlab and OpenFoam Softwares. So, please stay tuned.
Hi sir, Greetings Can we do the battery simulation like for charging the single cell with 20% initial soc upto 100 % soc to see the temperature variation inside the cell till steady state with 4C rating means total 15 minutes (including initial conditions for cell temperature as 25 degree) without cooling. How to do this can you explain briefly please Please reply Thanks & Regards Vinayak Mokale
Hello, thanks for your comment. In your case, you need to search for each material properties such as conductivity or diffusivity. You can also calculate the uds values based on the mentioned material properties. Please have a look at: A CFD thermal analysis and validation of a Li-ion pouch cell under different temperatures conditions, by M. Antonio et al.
Dear, thanks for your message. The UDS diffusivity is used by Ansys in the active area instead of the electric conductivity in order to consider both materials: the collector and the electrode. If you want to calculate the uds values please visit the paper: A CFD thermal analysis and validation of a Li-ion pouch cell under different temperatures conditions, by M. Antonio et al.
Hii sir!! What if my geometry have a different part like anode cathode separator and 2 current collector. Then how can I define value for uds 0 and uds 1
Hello, the busbar is a rectangle (6 mm * 45 mm) by 2 mm thickness. You can watch the geometry creation video in the description to fully understand how to design it.

How did you create the battery cycle? Can we model the operational difficulties of the battery with matlab or simulink?

Could you provide the text file used in the simulation?
Will this help me for battery drain test simulation?

Thanks for your answer sir
how did you define active material properties value?
Hi, please find more details here:

You can define them by introducing new materials.
How did you compute the value of UDS =1.19e6 & 5.93e5 ???

How to design busbar geometry

How can we write the code for cycle.txt file? is there any paper for this? I am confused. please help.
Read Ansys User's Guide. There are few examples for this.
Hello, can you help me abput battery virtual connection? thanks

How to change c rate in ansys fluent
Hi, in the MSMD panel, you can change the C-rate.
