I only just saw this; busy life. I'm sorry for your loss, but how wonderful that this little guitar gave your loved one the sound of beautiful music as time slipped away. Bless you for sharing, and thank you for a really honest and informative video on a guitar that really interests me.

Glad to see a video! It’s a neat guitar. It’s nice to have a guitar you can take anywhere - music is the fabric of our lives (I borrowed that from Cotton), in good times and tough ones. I’m looking forward to hearing how your move went and seeing your new life unfold. It’s a nice touch that you posted your last video where you started the channel. I’m sure this is both an exciting and emotional time for you and your family. I’m confident you will make a home out of your new home before you know it!

Hey, Jeremy. Gary Chapman here. I’ve watched you quietly for a good while and always love your common sense approach to purchasing and enjoying your instruments. This video hit hard, though. Long story I’d love to tell you in person next time you’re in Nashville. Reader’s Digest version…my sweet Dad lived with me until he died in our house right at sunrise, Easter Sunday morning, 2009. The one thing that brought him comfort was me sitting on his bed, singing and playing the songs he taught me 50 years previous in the little church he pastored in Texas for 30 years. That story is full of miracles and I’d love to have lunch and get to know you a bit better than youtube affords. If not…no harm. BTW, I’ve never been a stalker. Been a stalkee a few times but never the reverse. 😂

Thanks for this post Jeremy. I’ve been subscribed for several years. Occasional viewer, rare to comment. Your story of playing bedside for your dad at the end of his life was touching. I eliminated this Furch travel guitar due to cost. Bought a used PRS SE 20 and it has been a great travel companion. Excellent gig bag fits easily in overhead bin when flying. Easy on car space when driving. Cool sounding full scale parlor with passable pickup built in. Tone is fairly thumpy. Great for blues & country fingerstyle. Fair to average flat picked. No competition for a premium small body but lots of guitar for the $$. If you don’t need the backpack size, this is a good option.

I have a Klos travel guitar that I use when I travel. I also keep it in the back of my Jeep as I seem to be waiting on my kids frequently and pull it out. I wish I could get it to sound more like the little Jane.

Good to hear from you, Jeremy!
When I was younger, a girlfriend made me a padded case for my old Yamaha acoustic guitar. I strapped it to the back of my backpack and took it with me every time I went hiking. There was never a time when I was in Shenandoah Park, that this guitar didn't come with me. So, I understand totally how you feel about the Little Jane. By the way, the case she made for me was way before you could buy gig bags. I wish she had patented it. She could have made a fortune. :)

@@JeremySheppard It came with the Fishman VTS installed. BTW, a friend of mine put a passive Journey Tech p/up in an Eastman 00. I liked it so much, that I swapped out my Fishman Matrix with a Journey Tech on my 000-28. It gives a well-balanced sound, has plenty of volume on the same settings as my guitars w/ powered preamps (LR Baggs and Fishman) and it's only $50. When plugged into my EV30M, it's sweet.

Hey Jeremy, love that Little Jane. The price is what holds me back, and yes, I know it’s real wood and probably damn nice quality. I know you’re channel is shifting focus a bit as you travel this summer, I would love to know your thoughts on other short scale guitars, specifically the Eastman PCH2-TG and/ the Guild Jumbo Junior, both in around the $400-$500 price point. Cheers.

I had a Journey Overhead carbon fiber and it was super cool in that I could, and did, leave it in my truck 24/7 the summer that I had it. On a different note, I wonder what super light gauge strings tuned up a step or so would sound like on that and would it reign in the jangliness.

I was wondering the same thing! It might help a lot of people who need to move safely get their guitars from point A to point B. I’m especially wondering about guitars that only came with the a padded gig bag. Many guitars don’t come with hard cases these days.
Likewise, I’d also be curious about unpacking and checking and setting up all the guitars that need attention. That could be a daunting task for people with a bunch of guitars.
