Its amazing how little innovation has happened in the last 60+ years for the urban cyclist, pretty much all innovation has "benefitted" the competition cyclist. There's been some trickle-down to the urban cyclist, but much of it has been to their detriment (disc brakes, carbon frames/forks, "indexed" shifting, "more" gears. Imagine if all the R/D dollars/hours that went to develop new competition bike technology were spent on refining realistic bike technology?
