@@cmichalski420 You're crazy Chuck Schuldiner was very unique and original and most certainly didn't sound a thing like Chris Poland or Marty Friedman. Edit: Also saying Poland and Friedman sound alike is largely because both were in Megadeth. Most of Megadeth's music is written by Dave Mustaine so of course in that context they're going to sound the same.

I am just so thankful I grew up on so many great bands especially Pantera. Pantera has been a special influence on me for so many reasons one being the reason I’ve been playing guitar for 22 years, another is their attitude as people being as real as can be, not putting up with any shit, Dimes party personality and the joy he brought to us. What a fun all out amazing person, a real gem he was to the metal community I love this band like no other band God Bless Pantera 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
This is the shit I remember! Just took over the Fkn place!! It was so fkn loud!! My pantlegs were moving and felt like I was getting punched in the chest. That shit dime is doing was in his absolute prime. Someone else can play that shit note for note and will never never compare to the soul he put in every single note! 20 years later and still get goosebumps, grip my chair and can’t change the channel.
I wish i could go back and time and do it all again ...so powerful and raw and no one willever duplicate what Pantera did for myself and so many others
Amen, I was blessed to have caught them a few years before this in Wisconsin, and let me tell you that night they brought the thunder and the lightning. No show I've seen before or since compares.
This was my first metal show at 15 in 97. Pantera broke from this tour and did smaller venues. Mine was salem OR with coal chamber and Anthrax. Tall skinny punk kid stayed in the pit the entie time. Got broke in and ready for any pit there on
I saw them twice in 97, once at the OzFest in SATX and another time at their own show with Type-O-Negative I believe. I remember they would kick off the shows with that David Alan Coe country song about Jack Daniels. Great times!!!!
Saw Pantera last month, missed the og lineup, but still super badass. Phil sounds better now and I've seen down and superjoint ritual as well. But shit, dime gettin that shit! GETCHA PULL 🤘
Fuck I miss this--- We didn't know how well we had it... Long live 90's Metal! OSDM, Thrash, Industrial, Slayer at their prime, and of course, PAN-FUCKING-TERA! Never thought I'd look back and just... well I don't know... wish I had a time machine. Everything was simpler and more confused... Anyways--- 🤘🤘
Dude! I was AT THIS SHOW. I was 14 and it was my first Ozzfest. I remember the rant Phil made about the Tyson/Holyfield fight that night, and even mentioned it to Phil when I met him in 2016. He remembered rooting for Holyfield lol. We went home after the concert and turned on the TV and found out about Tyson biting Holyfields ear off. crazy night, and here it is on film. Amazing.
best show... wow ... really a good moment with Phil in that time ... love when Dino & Ian(later) come on stage and also the kick ass everytime of the stage tech... lol... you can see that all have really fun to play that show and give the best... Dime is out of this world ... 🤘and Winnie / Rex too... many thx for making it public... rar moments of history in Metal... wish we had soundboard audio too... it was recorded... see the other cam's in front of stage... one love🤘❤
I really want to thank whomever gets the credit for recording this. I was at this very show, but after Type O Negative left the stage my friends & I went outside for the 2nd stage to catch the Drain STH show & got all of their autographs to boot. After all these years I finally got the recorded apology from Phil (for being too fucked up to play the last show of the Far Beyond Driven tour, same venue no less). We we're promised a free concert, I guess this was that which I just watched lol. I truly miss Dimebag though, R.I.P.. A huge thanks for recording it. Much appreciation 🤘 ☮️
The only time I got to se Pantera live was 8-19-1990 In Irvine Ca. They opened for Suicidal Tendencies and Exodus. It was an awesome show. I remember there were a lot of Riot police on standby around the Bren center before the show. I never got another chance to see them live after that.
I was at that show also., I lived in Irvine at the time and was my sophomore year in high school down the street from UCI. Like you, was the only time I saw them live, but I was more into the European Death/black metal bands. I remember Exodus as being Kirk Hammet's first band. Metallica was the band I got into first before the harder metal kicked in.
Real energy. Catchy riffs and spectacularly well done melody changes which only a talented quartet can execute especially when going full of beer. 🤟 Slipknot and similar fake bands (sandblasted skin) will never understand this natural power.
Saw them 5 times in the 90's, every time I saw Phil he was killing it and when this band was on, they were untouchable live, you had to be there man, same with seeing the real VH with Roth in the 80's, untouchable🤘
This was my first ever concert (not this show but tour) I forgot Dimebag was still rather skinny in this era. If I remember correctly, Ozzy came out and did a solo set and then came back and did another with Sabbath. That was cool as hell, he should've done that more often, but it was still the 90's and he wasn't quite 50 yet. My friend broke his leg during Pantera's set and his super protective mom had a meltdown vowing never to let him attend a concert again as long as he was living under her roof.🤣
I love how that album starts... just insane! you know it's on everytime you hear it. I'll end up playing along with the whole damn album from that point.
My... GOD... just, my God... Band on 10, Anselmo out of his mind, IN VEGAS, early summer, 1997... So, so fkng indescribably awesome.... 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I was at this show. I remember every second of this. I never seen any video of this performance. That's Jason roder from neurosis/sleep singing this love with phil
I was at this tour like 1 or 2 days prior to this LV, NV show. It was at San Jose Arena, now called SAP Center@San Jose, where the NHL SJ Sharks play. It of course was a helluva f!kin' time! Pantera headlined after 4 other kick ass bands sets, including Slayer, Morbid Angel, Skrape & Static -X. Although it wasn't at this Vegas venue, it damn sure looks & sounds just about identical to the show I was at - Thanks for uploading this & letting me relive a great night & memory!
dino playing a brand new 97 black RG550, my first real guitar i still love, that run of guitars was the best IMO the rounded neck heel and the silver logo on headstock, beautiful guitar and shreds like hell 13:14
Pantera toured their asses off in ‘97. I saw them with Clutch in Salem, OR a few months before this (at least Clutch was supposed to play but there were technical difficulties at the venue so it was just Pantera and Neurosis) and then they went all around the country and played the same venue in Salem *again* in November of ‘97. I gotta say though this is the harshest version of the band. As others have pointed out Phil is just screaming his nuts off.
I was first introduced to metal through Pantera… I thought I liked metal but after listen into so many other bands I realized I just liked Pantera… they were in a class all their own. Other bands were ok but never could I listen them on repeat like Pantera… Dine was by far the best writer/composer/shredder there was
You’ll never see the same connection between two siblings in the music industry like this ever again. All they wanted to do was play music.
What? Eddie and Alex did it better in the 80s. And what "connection" are you seeing? They're all band mates they all connect

Scotty notty in the pantera mix! Making a old metal head smile
I wish i could go back and time and do it all again ...so powerful and raw and no one willever duplicate what Pantera did for myself and so many others
well said 👏
I can't imagine being there, that would have blown my mind !!
absolute metal legends. R.I.P Dime & Vinnie
97’ was one of their best years. I saw em at Ozzfest that year and it was EXPLOSIVE!!!
92’ would be the other fave year I saw them.
Man what a footage. What a performance. PanterA at its prime. Vulgar,Raw,unstopble machine. A kiling force. STROGER THAN ALL!!!🖤🤘🏾
PANTERA THE GREATEST METAL BAND EVER PERIOD. NO ONE ELSE COMES CLOSE.
No one for sure!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Prime time Tampora right there ladies and gents. That lightning will never be captured in a bottle again. Glad to have witnessed it firsthand.
Amen, I was blessed to have caught them a few years before this in Wisconsin, and let me tell you that night they brought the thunder and the lightning. No show I've seen before or since compares.
Me too bro ✊🏻
Yes long live Tampora I love those guys
LOL, I just watched Vulgur Videos this week for the first time in years. I think it's the singer from Skid Row that called them Tampora. hahaha
I love tempora
This was my first metal show at 15 in 97. Pantera broke from this tour and did smaller venues. Mine was salem OR with coal chamber and Anthrax. Tall skinny punk kid stayed in the pit the entie time. Got broke in and ready for any pit there on
My first show was Pantera/White Zombie in '96, I was 15. Unforgettable.
30:00 Sandblasted Skin goes hard as fuck!
I saw them twice in 97, once at the OzFest in SATX and another time at their own show with Type-O-Negative I believe. I remember they would kick off the shows with that David Alan Coe country song about Jack Daniels. Great times!!!!
the 90’s WAS the BEST for ALL music, real MUSIC..! EPIC video , thanks Jesse
cheers! thnx for watchin!
The 90s was the best for everything music, movies, wrestling and sport
The 90s were lame as hell. Pantera were the only real metal band back then in a sea of mediocre rock music, along with mediocre everything.
I seen them 6 days prior to this show in Minneapolis for my first time seeing them, they were at the top of their game right here boy.
I'd give anything to see another show by them from this era....there was nothing like it
Pantera Kings Of Metal🔥🔥🔥🔥🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
🤘and Winnie / Rex too... many thx for making it public... rar moments of history in Metal... wish we had soundboard audio too... it was recorded... see the other cam's in front of stage... one love🤘❤
That snare... Dam dude!
Lucky enough to see them once at ozzfest 2000
I really want to thank whomever gets the credit for recording this. I was at this very show, but after Type O Negative left the stage my friends & I went outside for the 2nd stage to catch the Drain STH show & got all of their autographs to boot.
After all these years I finally got the recorded apology from Phil (for being too fucked up to play the last show of the Far Beyond Driven tour, same venue no less). We we're promised a free concert, I guess this was that which I just watched lol. I truly miss Dimebag though, R.I.P..
A huge thanks for recording it. Much appreciation 🤘 ☮️
I remember seeing them back then. Dime was a machine.
The sheer power when they all kick into the main CFH riff is fucking incredible, tightest band ever
KING'S OF METAL 🤘 LORDS UNMATCHED 🤘🥃🤘
Very love when they play cat scratch fever "inside" cowboys from hell
0:00 - Cowboys from hell
6:20 - a new level
11:50 - Walk
19:30 - Becoming
23:35 - 5 minutes alone
29:55 - Sandblasted Skin
34:40 - Domination/hollow
38:14 - This Love
48:30 - F*CKING Hostile (W/ Scott Ian)
thnx ABA!!
Fuck Scott Ianishjew hypocrisy! Didn't care when he made his money!
I was at this show. They moved indoors the day before the show because it was too hot outside
ありがとう!
02:16 - cat scratch fever
that snare. those vocals. god damn.
Real energy. Catchy riffs and spectacularly well done melody changes which only a talented quartet can execute especially when going full of beer. 🤟
Slipknot and similar fake bands (sandblasted skin) will never understand this natural power.
Not a single cell phone in sight. I miss that. I saw Pantera on this tour in Salem, OR with Anthrax and Coal Chamber
Обалденное Шоу! Группа на пике своей карьеры.
Love Phil's dress shoes.
Dino and Dime? Wooow!!
Amazing!!!
Phil seemed drunk. That cannon of a snare cracks me up. Undeniable Pantera live snare.
I'm happy to say that I saw this show in Ozzfest Atlanta & Charlotte I remember!! I remember brother!!! Thanks for the awesome ass video
Dime man. What a specimen. Its absolutely incredible how well he played that Dean while being smashed.
Saw them 5 times in the 90's, every time I saw Phil he was killing it and when this band was on, they were untouchable live, you had to be there man, same with seeing the real VH with Roth in the 80's, untouchable🤘
Wow. 97 was the first year I saw them. Can’t believe this popped up in my feed !!
Broken leg?! A guy behind me a bit had his leg broken! Are you referring to the Minneapolis show at the metrodome?
Thank you so much for sharing this! Pantera on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wow A REAL Pantera Show. Lets face it, THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I saw this Ozzfest in Mansfield Mass, Pantera slayed it!!
Such a phenomenal show, a killer tour
Was my favorite live performance. THIS IS IT.
right on man! I have never seen this show on youtube......BADASS!
Inutile girarci tanto intorno, i PANTERA sono stati la miglior metal band di sempre.🎸DIME 🥁VINNIE🙏🙏
I was actually at this show. They were gods!!
Holy shit.
This makes me want to drink a fifth of crown Royal and get that black tooth grin for Dime!!!..(but I don't drink anymore LOL)
What a legendary concert jesus f christ...it's downward criminal to interrupt this beauty with ads
I was at this show. I remember every second of this. I never seen any video of this performance. That's Jason roder from neurosis/sleep singing this love with phil
Sure glad I didn't miss that years Ozzfest!
What an amazing band it was back with the Abbott brothers! May both rest in peace!
Best stage presence and energy of all time!
37:46 FUCK YEAH!! 🤘🤘 what a wholesome moment!❤👊:')
For sure. Brothers of rhythm right there. Phil was right saying that part is so fucking badass.
My goodness, 21:32 was short but just incredible 🤘
I was at this tour like 1 or 2 days prior to this LV, NV show. It was at San Jose Arena, now called SAP Center@San Jose, where the NHL SJ Sharks play. It of course was a helluva f!kin' time! Pantera headlined after 4 other kick ass bands sets, including Slayer, Morbid Angel, Skrape & Static -X. Although it wasn't at this Vegas venue, it damn sure looks & sounds just about identical to the show I was at - Thanks for uploading this & letting me relive a great night & memory!
I think you’re thinking of the Extreme Steele Tour that happened in 2001 right before 9/11 and Pantera was no more.
some of the best pantera songs are when the band was in most turmoil
BADDEST BAND OF ALL TIME!
Wow prime Pantera 👌🏻 this is heavy metal gold 🔥
Dime just looks more and more like the devil the further he got in his career lol 😆
dino playing a brand new 97 black RG550, my first real guitar i still love, that run of guitars was the best IMO
the rounded neck heel and the silver logo on headstock, beautiful guitar and shreds like hell 13:14
La Banda Definitiva Del Metal. Sin más. Inolvidables.
Phil casually rocking some business meeting formal shoes🤣
Hail PanterA! Lifer since 90.
I Love seeing the footage of dime and rex jamming out during the ending of hollow.
Two words “The kings!”
I was first introduced to metal through Pantera… I thought I liked metal but after listen into so many other bands I realized I just liked Pantera… they were in a class all their own. Other bands were ok but never could I listen them on repeat like Pantera… Dine was by far the best writer/composer/shredder there was
That outro riff from Walk it so brutal.
i was front row center ! i cant believe you taped it .
Best concert EVER ...
I'd Wish to be there .
Got to see them 3 times. So glad.
