This is what you need to do to drop your handicap : ( I play off a +1.7)
Work on - course management , like really really work on it , for each shot actually know what the hell you are trying to do.
Aiming properly , if you tend to slice a ball then allow for the slice .
Bunkers - aim to always get out on your first attempt
Should you putt or chip it...... Putting is generally is better for handicappers over 10
Have a GO TO shot for safety eg punch 4 iron....
When in trouble play for safety , not bravery
Know your distances by getting a range finder or GPS watch
when putting , spend more time looking at the putt itself rather than taking practice swings
Great work on the longer form videos lads. Really adding depth to the 18 Pars Challenge. Have no doubt that this channel is going to be huge. Just happy to be here from the beginning. Keep up the amazing work!!!
Thanks for watching!! Means a lot to hear that!
After seeing your content around day 18, I have been abusing my companies Flexi time, playing most days and I've gone from only ever breaking 100 once to now being close to breaking 90 (hit 89 once) every round I play so a massive thanks for the inspiration!
So how long did that take ya?
Let's go!!! This comment made us smile man, thanks for watching! You're breaking 80 next month
@@LoganRoy596 it took me a couple of days to decide which local club to join but since then I've played at least 3 times a week for about 2 months now
Hahaha great story. Welcome to the 80's. Remember two things, punch shots are your friend, and chipping and putting is your wife. Give them the respect they need. Don't ask me about getting into the 70s, it requires something called GIRth. Still workin' that out.
@@Jaezon tell me about it, I've ignored the driving range and been spending much more time around the putting and chipping area since I've decided I actually want to get semi competent at the game and not just play once a month.
2 years ago, I decided that I wanted to get good at golf. I played almost everyday that first year and I was terrible. I wanted to give up. Last year, I got some lessons and my handicap dropped from 32 to 22. this year, I'm spending more time on the driving range and lessons and less time playing... I played 18 yesterday and almost broke 90 (92).
If you want to drop your handicap, spend less time playing and more time getting lessons and practice range.
Its a balance of both surely? Like yes a bad swing is the foundation of bad golf. But once your have a solid swing in place, range practice must be intentional (with a goal in mind at each session) otherwise it can be useless just hitting balls. I think a big part is going to a practice area and just hitting a range of pitches, chips and putts, start from say 120 yards out and then moving closer and closer and spending a decent amount of time on short game (chipping close and making 2 putts).
Been following you boys since around Day 10! Loving the progress and content - keep it up!
Thank you!!
Practice and coaching drops your handicap, not playing all the time. I know plenty of guys at my club, all they do is play, literally everyday. Their handicaps have all plateaued, fine if that’s all you want out of the game. Me, I want more, to be the best I can. My handicap has steadily tracked down to now 2.7 it’s getting tougher to make gains but I’m sticking to the coaching and practice.
Playing all the time is a type of practice. By practice I think you mean drills.
been following since inception, i have alot more respect for you knowing that you have a job aswell
It's so cool to see you guys working on this project. I've been following on insta for a while but this longer format videos are cool to see a bit more of the journey, so nice that you get to live it with your brothers, keep it up!
Keep it up. You've helped keep me motivated to either practice or play daily.
Love to hear it!! Thanks for watching the vid!
All the love from Sweden! Been following since day one!
When ever you go on your tour around europe, come to Sweden and I'll show you the great courses!
Thank you!! Sweden is defs on the list, will make sure to get up there sometime later this year hopefully!
@@cheekygolfclub Lovely!
I'll show you the central east coast!
Its always been a goal of mine to shoot even on a 9 hole round. During the summer I'm going to try and make it happen. Good luck to your future rounds, I'll see if I can make my dreams come true.
I love what you guys have been doing, I’d love to play a round sometime
i used to go to florida every year for 15 years and golf for10 days and i would really get in a groove but at home then and now only twice a week and i'm not as good. i've been a 13 hdcp. since 1990 and i guess stuck there even though i do work at it. i'm 74 yrs old and not giving up, i may get there one day yet. good golfin' to ya.
Great channel. Idea for more shorts would be showing your training or practice especially putting. Good going guys 👍👍👍👍
Great note on the putting practice! We'll be posting more lesson stuff soon, thanks for watching!
Great idea for a series! Well done on 12.2 hcp
Thank you!!
Where on Earth can you travel in a train AND play golf for $10 a day?! What a steal of a deal.
Yeah I’m down for that f it’s possible 😂
Um... the UK???? This is just a guess based on them saying they were traveling around the UK during the 100 days and that they're from London... but just a guess...
Dude, I've been watching you play 100 days in a row, and I would not be able to pick which of the three brothers is you. Good luck though, this is some task you put on yourself!
hahahahahahahaha
hahaha thanks for watching!! We'll try post more videos like this, hopefully that will help with keeping us apart!
Which match were you guys watching on the train and who do y'all support?! Great video - best of luck.
This is sick! I used to be a +4 handicap, and my advice is that you will get better if you got a good coach, spent 80% of the time practicing irons, chipping, and putting instead of playing. However, when you play, you should learn how to adjust your swing to make sure you don't have too many big misses
Amazing how difficult it is to drop HCap even a few strokes. What would happen if you swapped about half the days to a Coaching & range session each day?
solid daps at the end boiz
Keep it up guys , great content
Thanks Luke!
Love the videos man keep it up! Watch the shorts every time they pop up. Also I've just noticed you guys don't have very thick accents. Are you born and raised in the UK?
Thanks for watching them!! No we're actually from NZ, just grew up abroad and went to international schools so the accent is a little all over
@@cheekygolfclub Cheers!
bro is the goggins of golf
The dap at the end was heard around the world. Cheers fellas
hahahah thank you for watching!
Good to see others are going at it to and 2.8 is amazing! Get ready to lift weights, eat healthy and live at the driving range if you are not on the course. 5-0 is basically 54-5
That's true, a lot of work to come here!
Hi. Playing the same golf course frequently does decrease one's handicap. I have a reverse result than you... I lived on a golf course and was a member for 18 years. I played 2 - 3 days per week. My handicap was 13. I moved 120 miles away in March this year. There are 17 golf courses within 20 miles of my new home. I've played 8 of them. My handicap has ballooned to 16.2. Shocking and sad.
Lads, been watching since day 20. Tell me, how do 3 American brothers end up in the UK?
Love the content, keep it up.
Thanks for watching for so long!! We're actually half german half kiwi, just have weird accents cause we went to international schools haha
what course are you playing that is only 10 dollars a round?? o.O
Plot twist. His identical twin brother is actually a scratch golfer and will take over the channel lol
I think I saw you walking down Cambridge Heath Road a couple of weeks ago. I'm guessing it was you because I don't often see people carrying golf clubs around London, let alone Bethnal Green.
Hahah yeah that was probably us! Make sure to say hi next time!
“Let’s see if it’s worth it” as he hits the nastiest lip out
What course in Glasgow are you playing?
Knightswood Golf Course!
What if you were extensively coached for the next 100 days challenge?
Some people are just extremely coordinated and might not need to practice much at all and they will shoot par. It’s just how it is.
damn, where I live the green fee for a single game is like a 100 bucks. its a real luxury to play often for me, and i got no friends and most tee times have to be booked for 4 people with a caddie:C and it comes out to around to like 150 bucks per game minimum
Call the course a day or two before you want to play and ask what times have threesomes booked. The course is mutually interested in filling out foursomes for each tee time. Whether you want to play with randos all the time is a different story.
Legend, let's goooo
You're the real legend!! thanks for watching
It’s been a blast to watch your content. Have a feeling your handicap will be under 10 shortly. Cheers from New Hampshire 🏌️♀️
Thank you for watching!! Hopefully we'll get to play in New Hampshire one day, too!
Great positive vibes here lads gonna be here until 18 pars 🕳
Haha just happy to be out on the course! Thanks for watching!
Next 100 days of lessons
dude i dont even have time to play 1 game of golf every 100 days
it dropped by 2.8 on to the next video!
Financial adviser here - please tell me you weren’t paying for individual train tickets each day as opposed to a season ticket??
sadly we are still doing exactly that haha
gl bro
thank you sir
Been here since day 1 xx
You're a real one
🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Louis!! 🙏
When will people realise that getting to a very low handicap, just takes time, knowledge and practice of that knowledge. There is no magic bullet.
I think if eventually you got to the 17th tee without a bogey I think your bottle would be severely tested over the last 2 holes.
Yeah that would be a lot of pressure indeed haha
Enjoying the footage all the way from Australia
Mate you have got to work on your putting it's killing your dream.
Admittedly the greens you play on don't look amazing.
I would offer some advice, look in L.A.B putters
Thanks for watching! I just got a putting lesson today, hopefully it'll do some good!
Mate Going from 20 to 15 is like 3 times easier than going from 15 to 10. 2.8 shots is not bad
$1000 in travel and green fees over 100 days in incredible.
I spend that in one week of golfing
U could just practice for 1/3 of that time and be much better!
Lets gooooooo
🙏
10 bucks a day for a round of golf including travel? Nice.
Rly nice video bro. Keep dropping nice content bro.
thank you for watching!
Faldo won an Open making 18 pars. Played a bit more than 100 days
thats ture haha
Interesting accents, american, british and abit of aussie too.
didnt know elon musk had so much time to play golf
Golf can be expensive
That's what I thought, you still suck. JK, keep it up fellas, and a good luck with your challenge from Baltimore.
whats the song called at 4:30
A Punk by vampire weekend!
@@cheekygolfclub thanks
How can you be on a 15 handicap while only making 3 pars? I know everyone calls bullshit on everything these days, but…..
If you play 70+ rounds in a row with no more than four pars in a single round wouldn't your handicap be closer to 20 or 25? This is of course assuming that not every missed par opportunity was a bogey. There must have been some doubles and triples as well, no?
only 1000 dollars? i just paid 138 bucks to play 1 round.
How much do you hate golf now 😂
hahaha I actually love it more than ever
Your feet still point towards the left
thats true haha will try to fix it!
now do 100 days of lesson or a £1000 worth of lessons to see which was worth it our of the 3
You could drop 3 shots overnight with better course management.
Its evident your driver is terrible and putting you in severe problems and you're using it on shirt holes you simply don't need it.
For instance there's a sub 500 yards par 5 you play and it seems to cause you real problems.
Try hitting utility, 7, wedge and you'll probably get to the green in much better shape.
That's not a bad shout at all - might give that strategy a try during the trip!
I'd like to se what happens to your handicap if you worked on your game with a decent pro for 100 days instead.
That's true! Know any pros that might be down to help?
@@cheekygolfclub Nope!
Probably didn't really drop at all. You just got better at playing the same course over and over. Most of the improvement will be putting as you know the greens better. 100 days on the practice range with a coach/trainer will make a difference. You really need someone to watch and provide feedback, else you will just reenforce the bad habits and poor decision making. Data collection when you play a round is important as well so you can focus on the weakest part of your game. How many fairways are you hitting? Greens? Putts? How many blow up holes? why did they blow up? Penalty strokes? Do you even know what your club distances are? What is your spread on each club? Where is your game the strongest? How to put yourself in position to use your strengths instead of scrambling. If you're at bogey golf or worse, then you need much more time on the range than the course. Learning to put your ego aside and tee it forward. Play the hardest holes forward and the rest from your normal tee box.
Get lessons instead. I went from 19 to 7.9 in a year with a minimum of 1 lessons a month and playing/practicing twice a week. If you wanna be somewhat serious of course. If you just wanna farm social medial keep doing this :D
That's true! Will give that a try alongside the every-day-playing!
Not much of a drop
If you dont mind me asking but are your parents American or 1 of them? You have the sligjtest English accent I have ever heard. I could tell you did not grow up in America but that was all I got lolol
$1000 100 days sign me up wherever he playimg!
haha sometimes they let us play for free
Practice correct technique.
HOW IS IT DROPPING YOUR HANDICAPP? ALL YOU WILL DO IS GET WORSE AS YOU GET TIRED AND GET INJURED, THE GAME IS HARD, I AM SICK OF SEEING SHIT PLAYERS ON HERE THINK THEY CAN GET TO SCRATCH.
Over $1000 for 100 rounds of golf. Less travel expenses and incidentals, you’re averaging less than $10 per round in green fees? I don’t buy it
I think he leaves the course after sometimes so only pays for nine and maybe gets a discount for it being so early and coming every day
Playing golf doesn’t drop your handicap. Practicing golf does. If you did 100 lessons in 100 days I bet you would be under 10 handicap. Just gave you an idea for your channel.
2.8, that should be a huge disappointment! You have reached your max potential which isn’t bad as it is in the top 10%!
haha i think we'll get even further down over time!
You had a video with over 2 million views on a video and only have 12,000 subscribers. That’s kind of lame that all those people didn’t give you some love for that!
Repeating the same shit shot daily is not going to improve your golf.
