I mean, olympic 10k takes like 25-30min. no reason as to why people wouldn't want to watch another like 15min of olympic athletes run and hit golf balls!! I'd watch that, a lot easier to watch than 4 days of golf
I've had the privilege of filming Scott at the Missouri open the last 3 years! Awesome to see him get the recognition he deserves! Also what a hole in one ⛳
I retired from triathlon years ago and started golf. I joined a country club and would jog every day. The guys there would look in awe as I finished 18 each day. My best round was 89 in 1 hour 45, I think it was 6.9 miles total. Yardage on the course just under 7000 yard. I just found this video! I am just amazed this is a sport. I had no idea but always thought it would be a cool test of skill. I haven't played in a while, I quit when I got to 10 handicap last year. The sport got boring for me to practice short game just to drop to single digit handicap. Great video thank you!
@@SpeedgolfBaby I think a lot of rounds of golf end up being that long in total distance since there's running back and forth if you're off line, distance between holes, etc that add up!
@@kevsstream6349 I can't find the video, but scott uploaded his round on youtube. From memory it was around a 75 in 45 minutes. Edit: it was a 77 in 43 minutes, I found the video ("Every Shot: Scott Dawley shoots 77 in 43 minutes with an ACE!")
UA-cam really gave me a good recommendation for this one. You got guts to just sign up for this thing in the first place so good on you. I love golf, but hate running. However, this is extremely inspiring. Totally makes me want to get all my buddies I golf with to sign up for a tourney and give it a shot. That pain cave is rough when you're in it, but the rewarding feeling after is what makes it worth it. Amazing Video!
This is one of the more enjoyable videos I've watched in a long time. Love the editing. 87 in 55 minutes is complete madness. I'm not sure this will ever be played at a country club, but what a great sport to watch. :) Kudos.
This is awesome Josh! We tried something like this about 40 yrs ago only on a 9 hole par 3 course and only used 2 clubs, an iron of choice and putter...was fun, but fizzled out after a couple months, but was fun while it lasted! GR8 n fun vid!!!
Felt for you with the "feels like I'm running in place" and "like I'm standing still" hahaha. I'm with you, man. I can play an hour of ice hockey no prob but would probably die if I ran a 5k. Thanks for another great vid, storytelling was on point on this one.
I showed this video to my brother to get him into golf. He went out and bought a set of clubs the next day. He was a Marine, and I'm currently active duty. Speed Golf looks like an excellent way to play golf and maintain top physical shape. Thanks, Josh!
I used to regularly finish 18 holes in ~90 minutes if the groups in front move out of the way. I was hitting an honest 100-105ish and using a cart - typically on a weekday before work at previous job (thus the rush and interest in just 'playing' vs. perfecting every attempted shot.). Far more fun than a 2.5-3 hours 18 to improve by 5 shots.
Man I’m a triathlete & now you have me pumped to go try speed golf! Love your video. You’re nailing the Jesse James West enthusiasm for fitness & storytelling
Awesome to see you give Speedgolf a try! 1st event I've missed in 5 years, wish I didn't miss out on all the fun and that Hole in One! Hope to see you out Speedgolfing in the years to come! You would also love the 14'' pink putter I one hand putt with haha. Great round of golf in competition tho, especially for a 1st crack at it. I think we all learned about that 'Pain Cave' really early on in our Speedgolf careers. Tough to hit that wall and force yourself to continue. I have since tried to stay off the gas those first 3 or 4 holes and just fall into a good solid pace around 8:00 miles, or 10-11minutes a mile with the golf shots, and i try to cheat the timer by being fast in that 'Hit Box' Range. Steal a few seconds here and there. It's the only way to get close to guys Like Luke and Scott at the top of the leaderboards pushing sub 40 for the round and shooting near scratch! Great Video!
That was really fun man! Haven't seen that one before. As a runner, I'm honestly super impressed that you kept running so much. Nice job! 87 ties my best score ever. I was NOT running. lol.
So seeing this for the firs time i got a couple questions. Do you have to carry your clubs in your hands? What if you had that runner suit where you could put the clubs in your back with the handles out your left side, It really wouldnt affect your swing holding it like that. Plus you can grab your club as you need them and put them right back on your body. No wasted motion picking up clubs or carrying them that way. Also wow HIO amazing. I feel if you run more during your drivers, causal jogs during your chips/puts, you could conserve a lot more energy running. Im no runner and way WAY outta shape to do it. But was a thought as well. Control and breating is a huge issue prior to a swing, so would figure where you want the most control/accuracy is where you want to pace yourself more to catch your breath. Would love to see more of this. Looks like so much fun to watch.
I once did a 15k race after not running at all for 6 months. I was a cyclist, so my cardio was good, but my “running muscles” were basically non existent. Couldn’t walk for like 3 days after 😂
I have a speed golf option on my simulator. I started using it everyday for exercise and fun. In two months dropped 15 pounds without dieting or nothing. Plus I get to golf lol. I’ve adapted mine to were I run about 10 miles.
You may have been 2nd last on the day but my god you must be in the top 1% of golfers who could do that! I am in awe. The big question - will you do another one?
Scott is a LEGEND! Such a fun video to make. Appreciate y’all watching! Hit that subscribe button!
Also that hole in one 😳
Did Scott win or what?
Mouth numb because of intense breathing if usually a nose breather
The hole in one is actually crazy
Lol I read this before watching and thought you meant Josh, which made less sense the further I watched towards the 17 minute mark
Lol
Annoying to read mid vid lol

Crazy how much speed golf helps your regular game
Scott is a freak...65 in less than an hour is mental! ❤
