I grew up with Charlie from an Irish background fuck we adore him 🥰❤️ my dads a musician he taught me right he would came home and party with Charlie he told me keep Charlie in your life you won’t go far wrong I grew up with Charlie pride I now play in a rock band I sing this every night in honour of Charlie now I understand what my dad meant there’s two kinds of people don’t trust anybody that doesn’t love Charlie pride ❤️
I grew up with this song. My father was a British Army Officer and was friends with Vietnam Veterans based at USAF bases in the UK. My earliest memories include this song, grape cool-aid, and my dad's friends playing Mr Pride, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson vinyl, while they drank budweiser. My dad's friends were good folk. Thank you for your service Sir.
My mum and dad played this to death. I'm in Northern Ireland. Charlie came here during "troubles". We were grateful for performers who came here and realised what a great country it is. It's great how music unites people, no matter what their creed, colour or politics.
i was 13 when i first heard Charley's albums played over the only radio station that still exist today. Am 70 now and continue to enjoy listening to Charley, (the Pride of America) songs. give me sweet. inspiration....
R.I.P Charley Pride. Dad was a truck driver here in Australia and so many weekends when he came home you records went on. Thank you for the music. You will be sadly missed. 😪😪😪😪💔💔💔💔
My Mother in Law sat beside Charlie on a flight to Hawaii way back in the 70s and she didn't know him but she said he was a perfect gentleman. When they told her who he was she never missed a beat but said that he didn't sing to her but he was kind.
Only heard of the sad passing 😢 today ... loved by many of us in Northern Ireland (Ulster) 🇬🇧 and Ireland 🇮🇪 fans enjoyed his visits during the troubles was a welcomed relief to all. As a young girl I soon learnt the words to 'the crystal chandeliers' and got up to sing this with joy at family specials occasions such as weddings and get togethers ❤ my mum loved Charlie Pride and played his records throughout my childhood and enjoyed on TV 📺 We the folks here in Northern Ireland will forever miss and remember his wonderful 👏 talent he brought to us fans of country music 🎶 we akways be greatly missed 😢 but never forgotten ❤ xxx
Rest In Peace Charlie Pride I recall growing up as a little girl listening to my father playing his music from a cassette tape one of his favourites(and mine now😊)is Crystal Chandelier I'm 42 now my dad is 72 thank you for the music💕
My parents thought so much of "All I have to offer you is me.", so they bought the record album that had a song on it called "Crystal Chandeliers" and got this song. LOL
Very special memories when I hear Charley Pride sing his songs. High school days and then working a cattle ranch and bull riding days....well at least trying. Awesome days for sure.
My dad would sit night after night on the end of his bed with his guitar playing along to this song. Thank you for this wonderful memory i will forever have❤
I spent 2 years in Okinawa from 1966-1968 when my step father was States there in their United States Army. We lived in Naha Housing Area outside Naha City. I was 14 when we moved there. At 15 I worked in a motorpool helping refurbish vehicles from the Vietnam War.
Me and my mate Linda in Dublin years ago used to sing this song and piss ourselves laughing. I recently alerted her to an identity I got somewhere else which has a chandelier in her honour. We were both great at doin the oul country twang. We also every time we met at uni in the Arts Block we acted as though we hadn’t seen each other in years. Even though we then lived in a shared house. With each other. She’d probably made me breakfast. We had endless fun with that. She has an ear for the bizarre and the ridiculous. Another one we sang together when we had whiskey parties (no other alcohol allowed) was Kate Bush singing Army Dreamers. We were even better than Kate with the ARRR sound.
I am singing this song now I love it so much unreal what 3 chords can do watching these videos and seeing how the pro's do it helps so much Thanks Mr. Pride :-)
Did he really know how loved he was. His song touched so many people. Thank you Charlie and God Bless and sleep easy xxxxx
