I've been wondering about The Butcher and The Blackbird. All the books you listed do sound pretty interesting.
Loved this tag! The Redemption of Morgan Bright sounds really good. I am going to check that one out. I don't know why almost every tag asks who your favorite fictional crust is. Almost noone ever has a fictional crush. I don't think I have ever crushed on anyone in a book. I have liked characters but I don't crush on them.
I'm guessing the original creator of the tag might have been a romance fan, lol.
“It was so dark! It was delightful!” 🤣 love it!
I can’t wait for Fury of the Gods!! I’m doing a reread too same time as the Gwynne brothers in the fall 😄
I might have to jump in and do that with y'all!
@@TheNerdyNarrative yes you should! Guess what I bought today? The Redemption of Morgan Bright!! Going to start soon 😄
I absolutely cannot WAIT to hear what your reaction is when you finish!!
@@TheNerdyNarrative !!SPOILERS!!
I lost count with how many times i thought “ what is happening!” It is rare that a book scares me or gives me the creeps like this book did! At one point I pinched myself just to make sure I could feel it and I was real and this was a work of fiction. But wow what an ending! The twists and turns gave me nausea seriously I had to put it down and center myself. When I found out about baby Hadleigh I was like “ WHAT!” And literally I yelled it out loud! And then the swing set incident another WHAT! The pregnancy ceremony WTH! I thought I had it figured out a couple times but no way! I didn’t trust anyone, Andrew or Clayden, I thought one of them was in on everything! A five star read that I am still processing because of the treatment to woman in those places! Shocking 😳 I am so glad I read this and I will definitely read again too see if I “see” things differently!
I love that you did this tag this year, Lezlie! So much variety in your reading. I love it! Sounds like you're having a good reading year so far.
Wishing you so many more good reads in the second half too. 🖤📚
Thank you so much, Nakia!! :D
Whew, you are earlyyyy! Haha, still loved hearing your answers though! Can't wait to read The Redemption of Morgan Bright myself soon. And I am also sooo pumped for The Fury of the Gods! Hope you find many more new faves in the rest of the year 🤩
I have some reviews going up on publication days, so it was either post it now or skip it until next year, lol
Might break my BookTube hiatus to do this tag. 👀
You're making me nervous to read The Angel of Indian Lake!
Gosh, Evie, I sure hope you have a better time with The Angel of Indian Lake!!! Fingers crossed for you!
Fun tag. You're holding it together pretty well for a "freak out" tag🤣
I'm screaming on the inside, lol
Fun tag
Really excited to try Howard Andrew Jones' books. Where should i start with Stephen Graham Jones?
For me:
1. Fool's Errand / Robin Hobb
2. Fool's Fate / Robin Hobb
3. Play of Shadows / Sebastien De Castell
4. The third book in Daniel Abraham's Kithamar trilogy.
5. Haven't had one really, worse i can say was Michael Crichton's Grave Descend was meh. Expectations weren't high for that one 😅
6. Shutter Island / Dennis Lehane
7. Dennis Lehane
8. Don't have one.
9. Paragon from Robin Hobb's Liveship Traders trilogy.
10. Fool's Fate / Robin Hobb
11. The start of Fool's Errand
12. Howling Dark / Christopher Ruocchio and A Brightness Long Ago / Guy Gavriel Kay
13. The ones i want to read 😂
PARAGON!!!! YES! I recently saw a review about Play of Shadows and moved it up on my list of ones I really want to try and get to sooner, rather than later.
Oh gosh. Stephen Graham Jones. I really want to say My Heart is A Chainsaw - but it's the start of a trilogy and the last book is mostly a slog but a freaking brilliant ending. I started with The Only Good Indians, but I think that's one better to read after you've read a few and click with his work. Do you like werewolf stories? Mongrels might be a fun first book. If you were prefer something shorter to taste test SGJ - Night of the Mannequins was a great novella or Mapping the Interior.
@@TheNerdyNarrative I do like werewolves 🙂
Can you share a link for the lights on your bookshelves?? I love them
a.co/d/791o5p6
Those are the lights - BUT - I would recommend checking out Chris Mahr's UA-cam Channel for more in depth research. I have several sets of these that I connected and wired into a power supply so that I could do different colors and designs - they're completely customizable and fairly easy to program.
Sometimes I wish I could go back to 2022 :D
Not me!!
