More on our owner building journey in Western Australia. We finally get to move onto our land. It was really special moving our caravan living situation into our very own shed.
A lot happened over the course of this video. We install our septic tank & leach drains. We get our rainwater tanks plumbed and functional. Our house slab get poured and our timber arrives. Before we knew it we were framing our own home!
Once again we're super thankful to so many people who helped us along the way.
We hope you enjoy this stage of our build! xxx
just found ur video and liked ur sweet family..ur husband is hardworking :D ... god bless ur family.. love from nepal..
If it’s warm conditions, it pays to run a sprinkler lightly over the concrete slab for a solid week to lock in the moisture. It helps the Concrete cure more slowly and make it stronger prevent cracking.
Yep, that’s what we do 👍🏼
Another way to do it is to put old carpet all over the slab and wet it with the garden hose. Gives the concrete even more protection from the direct sun. Works like a charm every time!
@shaneashby5890 that’s a great tip 👌🏼👏🏼
Great job. Merry Xmas guys
Thanks so much! Merry Christmas to you too!
Looks amazing.Thinking doing the same I'm a sand gropper as well .
Thank you!! Ah nice, we live in a good place hey?! 😁
Just found your UA-cam ch//, well done...it looks awesome.
Thank you! We’re getting there!
Great vid , noticed you don’t have an ant barrier between your slab and bottom plate . Thanks for posting your journey .
Yeah that was not on purpose 😂
Thanks for following along!
looks like your Garage is bigger then your own home but you are going very well.
Yes! The shed is actually bigger 🤣 you are not wrong!
cutting the metal panels with a grinder is better.
Definitely easier but not better. Cutting with a grinder is “hot” cutting which damages coating’s (in this case zinc) which leads to premature corrosion on the cut edge. Cutting with shears or snips “seals” the cut and doesn’t damage the surrounding coating.
Could be efflorescence, or just salt coming out of the sand
That white stuff coming out
It was actually just the sealant residue we discovered 😀
