NASCAR helped create this problem when they instituted the damage clock policy years ago. Teams know they're out of the race if they don't get the car fixed in the small amount of time given. The crews are in a hurry to patch up the car and get them back out on the track in hopes of meeting minimum speed and not lose laps before that clock expires.
What NASCAR should do is swallow their damn pride and get rid of the damaged clock policy. Let these teams take however long they need to fix the car, like it use to be.
Naw, we need a few dozen teams that park after minor damage and have fields of less than ten cars finish races at Bristol, Martinsville, Darlington and so on. Make a bad show worse.
Agree ! A lot of things should be like it used to be before Nascar became suck buddies with hollyweird and told the people who built and supported the races we were no longer wanted at the tracks .
Absolutely right
I think it was hilarious. I support his decision
That was LEGENDARY.
Well at least it brought some attention to the xfinity series and boosted Josh's fan base.
Yeah, he went from a no body to being very popular!
KENNY I AM 70 YEARS OLD AND A BIG FAN OF YOURSHOW
NASCAR said to “park it”. They didn’t say where to park it. I’m so over the almighty NASCAR.
it was funny, only thing that will be remembered about the race
As a 50+ year long fan, and a local track driver/owner, I NEVER watched a single race to see the France family or their rule book or any of their power hungry thugs. I went to tracks to watch RACING or watched RACING on TV as RACING is what interests me. Just as in all politics, the power hungry France Family and NASCAR are best described by Lord Acton's quote: "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Thanks so much for all the information 👍 I love my field and Griswold and Wagner
This dude is now my favorite driver he wins for the awesome mullet and attitude!!😁😎👍
Ross Chastain Martinsville wall ride and Josh Williams parking on the Finish Line Walking Away waving is the most exciting thing that's happened with NASCAR last 10 years. They've become more mundane and boring to watch I'd like to hear your take on the record number of cautions six or eight laps somebody with crashing because some idiot decided to make Atlanta Super Speedway
I love it. It's past time for nascar to scrap this policy and the damaged car clock policy. They suck.
The man and the mullet had enough and did something to make old school fans cheer. Hopefully NASCAR realizes he just did what they've failed to do for years, make Nascar entertaining. He needs a bonus check not a fine and suspension 👍
Totally agree I like Josh he's a Helluva racer need more like him.
So true! 🤣
Amen
Ya but remember nascar needs the money 😂
We need a senior league....Bill, Kenny, Terry and Bobby, Gordo 😂, Mark, maybe Rusty if Kenny's a no show. Bill, I'm a senior fan and I'm sure I've left a lot out,
I mean he followed NASCAR orders he parked the car… the funniest bit was when he said “what are they gonna do fine me ??”” can’t afford to pay it ..
My thoughts exactly.
Herman back then NASCAR was on top! Now they are headed down the shitter. He parked the car.😂 Josh Williams may be suspended, but he gained a fan right here!
It may be an expensive lesson, but Nascar needs drivers like this, to shake things back up!
It effected the other drivers' race.
Nascar doesn't understand its racers like that, who the fans love. The guys willing to say F**k The Man. Without guys like that Nascar wouldn't exist and when they went all PC and penalty happy thats when they lost alot of fans. The sport is dying. You can't have a Hail Melon @ Bristol every year to bring fans back. Need some good unscripted drama regularly to keep fans interested.
@@garyjackson3531 like every phantom caution in the last 15 years hasn’t?
@@driver8703 "phantom caution" You roundy-round fans are just precious. Everything is some kind of conspiracy.
Hey I turned into a fan of Josh Williams
You don't think Josh got $7500 worth of publicity for his team? His actions put on full display the ineptitude of NASCAR, and that's worth every but of the fine!
Way more than that. All the nascar podcasts want him this week and he was trending on Twitter for a bit. Cant buy that very easily lol.
We will find out this week, what the punishment is. Hope they don't ruin Josh's life. But the fines are becoming epic. Little teams have no chance , it seems.
The big infraction was getting out of the car. Hailee Deegan's tire changer had his hard card confiscated and was escorted out of the facility for going out on a hot track. Past that, Josh effected the outcome of the race. NASCAR doesn't like that sort of thing. They punished Denny for that very thing after he ran into Chastain in Phoenix.
@@garyjackson3531 track wasn't hot. it wasn't under caution. big difference from your example
publicity doesn't mean he gets money. his sponsors might though
He's the most talked about driver in the Xfinity Series now. He has a new sponsor. I don't see any negatives about what he did.
I need to find a sport where guys get into cars and then they race.
Support your local dirt track.
@@billmellinger1134 💯
Bad thing about that was, that quite a few pieces have been flying off trucks,Xfinity and Cup cars with no driver penalties, after they have been involved in a skirmish and rejoined the race. Let's see if they are consistent with this rule.
It was cold enough that the bearbond wouldn't stick that's pretty sad.
NOONE EVER HEARD OF THE RULE in the pits HMMMM
It was a cool statement, josh gained a new fan lol
Well it is NASCAR's ball but not too many drivers have the balls to do it That's My kind old man 👍😘😘😘😘😘😘😂😂😂😂
I love his comment “what are they gonna do fine me? I can’t afford to pay it anyway!” 😂
Difference is NASCAR's ball used to to be worth playing with
Ps BEST MULLET AWARD 🔥
JOSH WILLIAMS 💯😸
Remember the days when guys were still turning laps with half the car gone , 😆.
True and it was fun and funny. Some drivers were like the Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
And racing with their eyes taped open and rib broken legs broken helped in and out of the car Driver were men not winners and pisser spoiled brat When you came to the track and raced not a damn show a soap opera the young and restless or general hospital
And you wonder why NASCAR is losing fans. That was classic. I would’ve done the exact same thing.
Having him park his car because barebond fell off of it is ridiculous. Who ever made that call in the tower should be suspended not Josh Williams #92. Well at least his primary sponcer got some unexpected press out of the deal. Denny hamlin said he'd pay the fine lol
I learned a lesson or two at Fox also..... school not tv. Thanks Herm.
I think it’s Awesome. Come on NASCAR
Nascar ball...The only problem is they will be playing alone someday. They keep forgetting about the grass root racers.,The blue collar working men and women that pay to keep watching their shit show every week..Nascar glory days are long gone.
I loved it! Made things interesting!
An answer that isn't an answer , Herm . Personally , I think he showed his disspleasure in an appropriate manner , way better than the finger .
This was EPIC. Nascar going woke anyway
It was childish.
@@garyjackson3531 no it wasn't. Nascar is woke dude. Fuck there stupid ass rules. Hope Nascar goes broke.
@@garyjackson3531 like I said EPIC
Anything woke turns to SHIT.
@@Rick-gk3ro Epically childish!
You said it all Herm...."It's NASCAR's ball"!!
They would be Ball-Less without drivers as I know of nobody who would go to any track to watch a rule book or the France/NASCAR nazis.
He was living on the backside of his Mullet! All bidness up front, all party out back!
Someone is getting a vacation from racing.
Have a great trip Josh!!😎
The rules are the rules as long as they are the same for everyone.
I remember another wallace paying his fine in all pennies. That was Epic!
Bubba?
@@pulsarlights2825 No Rusty did way back in the day, paid like a huge fine all in pennies. Was awesome
Think the difference toady from back when you & Dale were racing, is the level of respect for each other and the sport. As for the reason behind think it, is a combo between society standards(decreasing), and younger drivers with few real mentors to keep them in line.
I Loved it!!! But The Big Boss ain’t gonna be happy $$$$ 😊🏆🏁🤛🏻
He lengthened the caution how funny, nascar has no problem lengthening cautions for commercials.
i will say walking across pit road is a big no no for safety reasons, why the one announcer said “oh no”
when he reached pit road..nascar can end your racing if they want just sayin… play by the rules or don’t play is what they will say! ✌🏻
NASCAR needs to be consistent in their decisions. They let too much wrecking go on without punishment. Drivers find their own justice and NASCAR loses credibility. They need a review board including former drivers.
Josh is a legend!
Completely ending Josh Williams's race was rather heavy-handed on the part of NASCAR. They should have Black Flag him, bring him into the pit, and not let him leave until repairs have been made to the satisfaction of a NASCAR official, not tell him that his race is over and take the car to the garage when it was still race evolve to attempt to salvage some valuable points. How many times throughout NASCAR's history have drivers, including Legends, limp a crippled car around the track for a few points? You mentioned Dale Earnhardt senior coming in over a loose lug nut. There is also a legendary story about him piecing together a car that had been flipped, with the trunk lid held down with tape. That car had absolutely no business being on that track but that moment is one of Nascar's most told stories about determination and refusal to give up. Now we have an up-and-coming young driver digging and scraping to make his way through the ranks attempting to salvage some valuable points after a wreck, and NASCAR tells him his race is over. Sure, what he did embarrassed NASCAR, but I believe NASCAR needed to be embarrassed.
Remember the race very well. Agree with you totally.
Those dollars will adjust your attitude way faster than any stern lecture. They'll just keep adding to it until you get it.
If I was at the track I would have been pissed off. They had about 75% caution laps and he just made more. He had tape coming off while doing pit road speed.
Great way to make a statement to Nascar but if you play you pay.
He went straight to the Nascar hauler like the official told him 😂 sat and waited for hours. LOL
Considering the xfinity race couldn’t stay green for more than 4 laps a run, that was the highlight of the race 😂
Really Nascar is their own worst enemy so many rules, crappy car, everyone run same speed, pick your lane, lucky cat, what happened to racing it shouldn't be a circus.
Need more of this type of behavior. NASCAR clearly wants to be sports ENTERTAINMENT and not RACING so they got exactly what they wanted. Good on Josh.
There's been way worse than that were falling off of cars that were never parked, before.
At least he didn’t push a medical/nascar official that was trying to help!!’
While I agree with you yes it's Nascar's ball, they have went out of their way to show they don't care about the smaller teams...unless they need them to fill fields. Many interviews that Brock Beard has produced tell these stories.
Second, the same thing happened to Chase Elliott at the Roval in 2021. He was in a wreck, repairs were made to the car. He drove a while, the bumper cover flew off while flapping for many laps. He cause a caution from crash damage and not even a hint of a penalty.
Nascar has its favorites, you cannot deny that.
This wasn't about the size of the team. Nascar was simply frustrated at their product , and overreacted to the situation..
It's my beliefs, this doesn't occur without the other cautions, up to that point.
Now would nascar be more hesitant on parking a bigger name , sure but that's because they tend create a bigger media storm.
The team can profit off this, if they navigate it correctly ,without showing off the sanctioning body.
None this will matter if , the team itself can't turn all this into a positive.
@@deliriouswhome1 it absolutely has to do with the team. If it was a JRM, RCR, JGR or other big team. Are they getting parked for bear bond falling off their car and causing a yellow. I don't think so
Listen to some of the interviews Brock has on his channel. Nascar does not care about small teams. The charter system was a way to elbow the little guy out of the cup series. No other reason. Allegedly it gives teams "equity", is that not what all the team assets could be considered.
I politely disagree with your statement and stand firmly behind my opinion that Nascar doesn't favorably look at small teams.
@@highoctanecards you have right to think that, personally I don't. Nascar just hit Hendrick's with the biggest fines in history of it's sport. But somehow, only small teams are picked on.
@@deliriouswhome1 different situation completely. Please compare apples to apples. I gave an example of a nearly identical situation.
Do you remember Carl Long being fined $200K I think it was for an engine being just quite literally a hair oversized? That engine had competed with Chip Ganassi racing with any questions. Chip did have Havoline and Target sponsors that he brought to the table.
@@highoctanecards we both have opinions, in which we are entitled too.,
Im not telling you to charge yours, just voicing my own.
Neither of us , knows the real truth.
I however , am not playing victim for other individuals , no matter the size of their teams.
I think your focusing your efforts on the wrong thing, that's my opinion.
It was great for his sponsors!!! It will get plenty of air time.
whatever the cost, before yesterday few knew who he was. Now Everyone knows he probably has top 3 hair in nascar(i mean who can compete with sliced breads hairplugs) and nascar should be paying him for the stunt after both craptasic races yesterday!
Reading all the comments from Nascar "haters" that are going to join me watching our TV's today. Can't wait 😃
No tvs in my house, waste of time
What does NASCAR do with the money they get from fines and penalties? Pay for Brian France's lawyer fees? Maybe his alimony?
Did they tell him where to park it?
Bet his tee shirt sells just went up
thats a lot of clams when ya came from dirt!!! thx Herm!!!
Well they DIDNT PARK THE TRUCK that threw a 20 LEAD WEIGHT ON THE TRACK DID THEY
But HERM it was a RULE they told them was broken! And no one in the pits had ever heard of this RULE !!!! NOW THEY WILL HAVE TO PARK EVERY DAM CAR THAT LOSES ANYTHING tape body part WHEEL al of them ! I like what he did he may not get to run in WOKE CAR but hell hes a DAMN GOOD LATE MODEL DRIVER
What does everyone think of Denny Hamlin saying he would pay his fine for him
I'm surprised by how many people liked it. A lot of those people would've hated it if it were KyBusch. Personally, I didn't like it. Why make fans wait for your car to be removed? Plus, TV cuts post-race coverage short as it is. That doesn't help the situation. If he wants to make a point, there are plenty of ways he can do it without halting the event.
Nascar is becoming a big bully.we need new blood running nascar.get rid of the old tyrants.let the guys race period.
My beef with NASCAR is that if you're going to park Josh Williams they should have parked every car that had pieces and parts flying off all night long from this wreck fest. NASCAR got pissed off from the shit show with all the cautions and took it out on Josh. They need to do away with the repair clock.
It was entertaining. Something NASCAR brass knows fuck all about.
I AM A BIG FFAN OF YOUR SHOW
I can't remember where it was but I remember Matt Kenneth doing something similar years ago when NASCAR had been on him all day. Matt parked his, not at start/finish line but still on track, got out and basically said "yeah yeah I'm going" (to big red truck they called it then). I remember that fondly after all these years and years from now people will remember Josh too
Sometimes NASCAR needs a wake up moment..well a lot of times. This kid reminds me of the old days when NASCAR was fun. Of Smoke; Harvick and when Bristol was fun.
Told him to park it. Didn't say where.
NASCAR is mad Josh stole the show, that is if you can call a "dumpster fire" a show.
ROWDY FAN FOR LIFE ❤️
I can remember Kyle doing something like that...😅
Yeah but as much tape That has come from the cars over the years it was a stupid reason to have parked him
Nascar probably supplies the tape
@@billp6191it was cold and the tape doesn’t stick well in cold weather.
Nascar should pay him for what he did most exciting thing that happened in years
NASCAR will continue to destroy itself until someone steps up and starts a new series that will force NASCAR out. The opportunity is there and the fans will follow if the series is run correctly.
There is SRX. But that’s not getting enough people
Lol😂
SRX Series. Some races have already sold out, and the season hasn't even begun.
@@HPICamaroSS Yep. I said at the end of the first season that SRX *needs* to run way more than just six races! 😁😍🤩
I am hoping this series take a hold. And leave the no talented seat fillers out.
Josh Williams pulled that move from kennys Play book
Yeah, that was crazy...! I do like how he handled it... He followed the rules and parked his car...! Hahaha, good stuff...! Thanks and keep up your awesomeness and go enjoy some nature today...!
Just got back from high school? Kenny, you ain’t been to high school in a looong time!! 😀🤪😁
If nascar is in the "entertainment" business they have to agree that this was entertainment 😂
It's the driver's ball. It's the drivers that make this sport. NASCAR bosses for the last 20 years have been ridiculous with their over the top penalties and are the main reason I stopped watching in 2016 after 2 decades of being a diehard fan. If there was ever a sport that needed a "players association" its NASCAR. The drivers need to form a union and put a stop to the morons ruining the sport
That's a MAN'S ring you are wearing!
We have all watched races where the front runners radiator was blocked by trash picked up off the track and the outcome was problematic, same for cars that shed Bear Bond affecting the race outcome, NASCAR should not take heat for the Park It directive, but next time maybe they will tell them WHERE to park it......
He did what they told him to do. I want to see what NASCAR mext. Maybe the need to be more specific.hahaha
Yes but he can say too is that stuff was falling off his car and he wanted to stop there so no more would fall off on the track. He can get out of that. He can say he did it for the saftey of the drivers. Which is not the reason but he still could.
Nascar sure doesn't like it when a driver finds a gray area. 😂😂 he parked it!
I heard comments about Mickey Thompson off road racing. It's not a race it's entertainment. It's their show and their rules, obey or go home there are more players that want to play the game.
The problem is NASCAR doesn't have teams lining up to race. They need the teams and sponsors more than the teams need them. You can race lawnmowers for crying out loud! It's a real thing and is much more interesting to watch than anything NASCAR has produced in years!
Power is confusing it's like NASCAR forgets that without teams, sponsors, cars, and drivers NASCAR doesn't exist.
Unfortunately, he’s going to be the next Carl Long. His last race was in 2009 because he could never pay the NASCAR fine.
I think the difference between your situation and Earnhardts situation is that it his was probably very early in the race and it didn’t effect him much. I have no doubt that if they made him pit with 5 to go he woulda raised hell and did something crazy.
If you look at all the reports of this on youtube, you will see The Fans are behind what Josh did 10 to 1 over Nascars stupid rule, The tape would not stick to the car because of the cold, it most likely would of blown off the track like the pieces of paper you see from the stands. Think Nascar will wake up and see how dumb they were ??
You did that and we still love you Kenny. Now we know about Josh. We now can watch him.
Oh but Kenny Wallace was such a great driver.😂😂😂😂
