Please understand Melchizedek is not just a man. He is holy spirit in human form. The book of Hebrews makes this clear.
Also the book of Hebrews talks about two orders of priesthood. One is Aaron and another is Melchizedek mentioned in Psalms 110. This order of Melchizedek is the new testament ministry which can make a man perfect which was not possible for Aaronic order to achieve.
So please stop analyzing the whole issue thinking Melchizedek was a man. He knew all about Abraham because he is God himself in the form of holy spirit.

There are many other chapters in the book of Hebrews which mentions about the order of Melchizedek. There is no meaning in saying that Jesus became a high priest of the order of a king of an old testament city called Salem. This Melchizedek is none other than the holy spirit himself. And the place where Melchizedek blessed Abraham is the only place in the Bible where holy spirit came in a human form. So, please correct your understanding ask your pastor about why it is written like this in Hebrews 7th chapter.
Read the 3rd verse again and again. No father, no mother, no descent and no beginning of life nor end of life. Who else can fit this? No human being will fit this description.
