The zero series has the best story in the whole franchise. It is sad that it began on such a limited platform. It doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
Yeah. Back when it came out a lot of people hated it because it wasn't exactly like Mega Man 2 (the 2000s were peak NEStalgia), but nowadays a lot more people appreciate it for what it is.

It shared a lot with Anime that were popular at the time, namely Superhero Anime with transformation sequences, the story is also structured similarly as well. You got your opening episodes, 4 "Monster's of The Week." middle episodes, 4 more "Monster's of the week" presumably stronger than the last and then the Climax. Tbh, it's a pretty ingenious story considering the last "Mainline" megaman game was all the way back in 2001 with X6. And that Megaman was on a "Decline" since X2 or so and many people didn't like the game's as much, a cost of Capcom's releasing "New" megaman games every year for two decades. So going with something entirely new to catch the new Generation with Zero and then ZX was ingenious at the time, and it kind of worked. I loved Megaman ZX and it was my first megaman game. I would go on to buy the Zero Collection on DS, the Starforce Game's, and other collections released recently along with the Legends Game's. ZX turned me into a "Mega" fan.
Well there is one official MMX OVA, The Day of Sigma which was a half hour long prequel to X1 in the rebooted Maverick Hunter X timeline. From what I remember there were plans to do more such projects alongside the MHX games but the first one flopped so we never got more or anymore OVA projects sadly.

The entire megaman series needs an anime and movie. The lore and character are very underappreciated nowadays. Nobody really plays megaman, mmx, mmz, command mission, etc. except for the fans and enjoyers. MMZ is the most underappreciated game of the series. Its just kinda sad that it is. I mean, its Zero we're talking about here. I could argue that he is the character who went through the most hardships in the series. I love him. WE love him.
What are some examples of hardships he went through? To me He seems like a guy who started with nothing all the sudden woke up and the world is expecting a bunch from him. And he doubts himself

He had seen a lot of close comrades lose themselves to the virus and had to dispatch them himself. Not to mention that he is also the one who carried the virus before without even knowing. There's more to him than meets the eye. Megaman and Megaman X are popular enough already. It just felt like Zero deserves to have his story told. To me, his story is about self discovery, building trust, in others, believing yourself and learning how to rely on others. His character just goes wayyy too deep in comparison to other characters in the franchise.

So few people know him
I'd argue that most fans recognize the Zero series as the best branch in the franchise. Not only do they say the gameplay is peak MM (you literally can combo bosses), but the story was incredibly well done and gave Zero's character arc a concise conclusion. I am also one of those people so lol.

The X series mostly hid the number of disasters that occur with the gameplay but the Zero series shows us the results of characters actions and shows developments in some while also explaining why they do what they do.

I love the attention to detail in every second of this animation. You can see Zero draw his saber hilt from the top of his buster at 0:19, just how it functions in the concept art, and you can keep track of every time he draws and sheathes the saber hilts from his hip holsters throughout the animation. And the way the triple rod extends from the saber at 0:24 also pays tribute to the concept art. Feels like how he'd fight in canon. Fucking gorgeous. Instantly following this Legend on twitter.

Capcom has never understood what they made and what they could do with it. Amazing art and animation style. Now I'm dying to see Megaman X in the same way.
It's not about having a high framerate, it's about how you use the frames that matters. This animation is a perfect example of efficiently using the tools you have as oppose to just relying on high end equipment with sub-par execution. Anime and games have zero excuse to be lazy with 3D animation when something like this exists. It doesn't need to be at 30fps or 60fps to feel fluid and dynamic, it's about using the core principles of art and animation to achieve that effect regardless of what equipment you have available.
All things considered, how well this is animated/lighted, this could easily pass off as a cutscene in game for megaman Zero if it ever got a remake. Very well done!
Imagine an anime that goes over the entire timeline starting on Megaman and then pulling the story from Megaman Unlimited to connect the classic and X series, then, the X series, Zero, ZX and ZX Advent and then Legends. If that ever comes to existence we will probably get a Megaman Legends 3

This could work as a Netflix series, combining the fluid 3d animation of Sonic Prime with the rich and profound storytelling of Castlevania. Just imagine it.
@@LDKxDEF If I'm using it correctly, uncanny can describe something that is uncomfortably close to real (though just barely not). At least in my opinion, Zero's running and some of the other movements fit this description... well... uncannily.

Beautiful animation. I think Zero would actually move without any flashy, unnecessary motions--but for the purposes of showcasing your animation skills, this is absolutely magnificent.
What are you basing this off of, GBA games? His design in the Zero games oozes flashy my guy, if anything, the "unnecessary motions" example should be used for og Zero. This zero looks like he's design for speed/agility and snappy movements, you can't let that go to waste because some of you guys don't want to see him move like an anime character (which he is).
@@KennyMaximum I disagree. Let me put it this way, Zero (whether in the GBA games or MMX) moves more like Ryu from Ninja Gaiden rather than Dante from Devil May Cry. There are a couple flourishes here and there, but the style was more ruthless and efficient rather than stylish and trick-oriented. I mean, that's how I saw it.
@@KennyMaximum Hard disagree. Rewatching X4 Zero gameplay vs Gameplay in Zero series that couldn't be further from the truth. Zero moves are MUCH flashier from his jump attack to his normal combo and ex skills. Even the Zero developers know this when based Omega's entire move-set from OG X series Zero.
That was so totally sick! 😆😆😆 Those saber movements at the beginning were so cool! There’s no superfluous or wasted motion. Zero may have a heart, but he’s a trained war machine nonetheless, and his movements reflect that. I appreciate how after he finishes off the golem at the end, he doesn’t pause to pose for the camera, but simply gets up, confirms the kill, and then turns around and dashes towards his objective.
Alternative Reality: Welcome to PS2/NGC 3D game series Megaman Zero (2002-2005) with 3D map and 1st/3rd person views. Its original soundtrack is already the remastered version for the GBA version.
Makes me wish this was a teaser for something official, M8uc did an excellent job on the animation and the sounds you added brings the whole thing together!
Now I want a series taking place before the game where X, Zero and Axl go around on episodic-ish ventures but there's an atmosphere of mystery, worldbuilding and has crazy and dark moments.

Zero moves are MUCH flashier from his jump attack to his normal combo and ex skills. Even the Zero developers know this when based Omega's entire move-set from OG X series Zero.

Those saber movements at the beginning were so cool! There’s no superfluous or wasted motion. Zero may have a heart, but he’s a trained war machine nonetheless, and his movements reflect that. I appreciate how after he finishes off the golem at the end, he doesn’t pause to pose for the camera, but simply gets up, confirms the kill, and then turns around and dashes towards his objective.
We get it, you hate clichés lol.
I guess after centuries of fighting and no one to motivate, being flashy loses it’s charm.
