So a fresh off the production line new to the industry is better than a Rolls Royce long established aero engine? How fascinating that it produces a lot more power than the RR, but only needs service intervals far less regularly. I'm uncertain whether it's as fast as an R66? Which is very questionable. Granted, it does appear a wonderful piece of aviation.
4:35 As for reliability, only time will show. I think the problem with these small companies is that you have fewer minds thinking about what could go wrong. I recently watched a video of a woman architect who was starting to build her dream house, clean, huge, with lots of rooms. There were many partners in the construction of the project, already committed to their respective tasks. Right before starting construction she had an insight and together with her husband they realized the white elephant they were going to build and decided to change the entire concept of the project for a more cozy and family-oriented one. So she had to tell the partners that she was going to change the whole construction and she wasn't really sure what their reaction would be. To her surprise, some were relieved because according to them the project was not their thing, it had nothing to do with them (and possibly nothing to do with a cozy and family home). In other words, the partners themselves, had reservations about the project but had not expressed them to the contractors... I'm hoping that the new helicopter will be a success, just like Cirrus had with its aircraft! 😃 👍👍
