- Abandoned Tunnels Under Main Street Stillwater. This is footage I captured when they ripped up and dug out sections adjacent to Main Street, Stillwater in and around the Oasis Cafe a couple years back for the construction of a walking path. The old chimney constructed for the Hersey and Bean & Brown lumber company still stands atop the bluff. Plenty of the brick lined flues connecting to the chimney atop the bluff are still there and have filled in over the ages with dirt, but two of those brick lined flues are walk in tunnels that are still present and go beneath Main Street but when the flues start to angle up the hillside on the West side of Main Street there is a lot old brick and rubble and soil totally blocking any chance to go up the hillside. The Hersey and Bean & Brown cave is now under about 15 to 20 feet of soil. I have to wonder if that cave was not somehow connected to Aiple's brewery at some point but more research is needed before I can say it was.
Is it safe to go in these without a 4 gas meter?
These tunnels are fairly short and have good air exchange with the outside, so in this case, I'd say yes. If you are inside the tunnel with any type of fire going then a 4 gas meter will not help that kind of stupidity.
@@GregoryLog 😂 got it, thanks
Yo what side of the cafe is this
