Sir it’s great you visited amboli.Tillari,Bhimagad,Radhanagari, mahadayi,Bhagavan Mahaveer, and Mollem all these western ghat forests are Tiger corridor, they need extra protection.they must announce as Tiger reserve.these connects Kali and Sahyadri tiger reserve.
Your Narration and videos makes us feel like we are in Amboli. I am going for Herping in Munnar in 10 days time. Hence need some advise from you on the followings: - Will monopod be useful for herping photography? - How you protected equipment from rain? Any picture of the setup would be great. - Decathlon trekking shoes will be ok or gumboots will be required? I got one from Hilson. But not comfortable with it and returned. It was too loose. - I have kind of leeches fobia. What measures you took? I have anti leech socks.
Excellent questions. These are the questions we all had. I hope I make justice while answering here. - Monopod for specially Munnar, I’m yet to go to Munnar. Whatever I have heard from my friends, it’s a tough terrain to walk. But definitely doable. In my circle whoever went there didn’t carry monopod. My suggestion is, if you have booked through Hadlee Renjit, I’d suggest you ask him once. He is the best to answer this question. Decathlon shoes - Perfectly suitable shoe. I use only and only decathlon shoes. No gumboots. It’s just I also wear leech socks from Wildroar. They r but uncomfortable but very much necessary in Munnar. Protecting gear - My poncho from decathlon which is good enough to cover the gears. Also I’ll always have umbrellas in hand. It’s once again not a comfortable way to photograph but a necessity. I’ve bigger umbrella once again from Decathlon. It’s superb. LEECHES - trust even thinking of them gives me creep. I hate them more than I hate humans 😛. Every season I end up having at least 4-5 leech bites. I will have that allergic itch for next 1 month at least. With shoes and leech socks, u can easily avoid them on legs. But if u r moving through thicket of shoulder length, they can enter all those part where they r not supposed to enter! 😂 I’ve pretty bad experience in Agumbe belt. But then, Pros of macro photography overweighs cons of leeches. So we just have to bear this pain to get those crazy moments in wild. This year I had only one bite. This is too good year in that way for me. 🤣 I hope I answered all your answers. Pls ask me if you have any other questions.
Thank you very much for taking time to answer my queries 🙏. I don't want leeches to enter where they are not supposed to. Dropped my plan last year due to fear of leeches. Seeking more luck on avoiding leeches than snakes/frogs sighting.

Yes sir. I totally agree with you. People are not announcing them bcoz of many things. I just recently read about it. South Goa has many tigers.
ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲೂ ಬರಲಿ❤
Definitely. Already working on it. 😀
