This band will forever be one of my favorites. Changed my life. And I’m still very bummed I never got to see them live. Gabe truly was one of the most innovative drummers of his era. Rest in peace Gabe.
WOW - the fact this sounds so similar to the album blows my mind - it sounds like noise but after listening to the album for 15 years.. every note is played perfectly. you guys are masters - RIP Gabe.
one of my favorite drummers. he was also the only person to speak to the audience when I saw the locust live some time in the late 2000s, he said "thank you" at the end of the show. he also spat on the floor like 20 times during the concert.
I can’t express how much joy this brings me. The locust will forever be the best performance I’ve ever seen live. Gabe was up front for a reason, he is truly one of the best drummers of all time. JP is killing it still, just saw deaf club, he’s the best metal/punk singer you’ve ever seen.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for posting this. Gabe and The Locust were absolute game changers for me. I was one of the few who attempted a few Locust drum covers early on here on UA-cam. His legacy will live on🥁
I know it’s been a while but this reminds me of seeing them around this time at Chain Reaction in OC California with Cattle Decap and Daughters. Still one of the craziest road trips and fun shows
i was there too buddy. never miss a chance to see the locust! i went to all their gilman shows 2003-08; so glad they only played all-ages shows or otherwise i wouldnt have been introduced to them so young.
This man had some of the cleanest cymbal-chokes I've ever seen. There will never be another. RIP

I went out of my way to see these guys live at some dumpster dive bar in Detroit back in like 2004 and they were pretty awesome.
Daughters and Cattle Decapitation opened this and it was fun.

Still have Gabe's mangled drumstick on my mantle

One of the most creative ‘alternative’ drummers there was. RIP
I still need to upload my 2005 footage of these dudes. In the all white outfits.
why havent you done it?
Where is it?! That was the one with the modular synth?
@@trashpigeon1164 need to send tapes somewhere to get digitalized
@@debnlinda I'll get around to it some day haha. Yep, modular synth was there. Ex Models, Upsilon Acrux, and Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel tower opened.
I smile from ear to ear watching this guy play. Legend.
Very few drummers are able to hit this hard and so precisely. What an inspiration. RIP Gabe.
Even from across the ocean, it just boils down to: 'I miss Gabe' every day'.
The greatest there will ever be 💚
Gabe was literally the best drummer in the (in any.) galaxy.
This looks like running 5 marathons all at once.
Gabe was extraordinary. R.I.P. the very beginning of this video reminded me of the first time I saw Zach hill drum in Sacramento lol

Best drummer I’ve ever seen live. His technique was savant level insane.
Holy wowzer! The full concert of that brilliant AOTKPTA video ... after all those years! THANK YOU!! 🥰
riiiight I thought the same. audience headbanging out of time is still a trademark of this video
Absolutely one of the greatest to ever do it. Gone far too early.
Eternally grateful that my first time seeing them live happened to be one of their last shows before Gabe's passing. I'll never forget it.
I have been waiting for this for 10+ years. Thank you so much. RIP
So goddamn awesome. RIP.
Damn thx for this video. You are missed greatly Gabe.
ONE OF THE GREATEST TO EVER DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saw the same tour in ATL at the masquerade and it was incredible
So sad I never got to see him play live 😢
thank you for sharing, gabe is one of the best to ever do it.
Gotta start a campaign to get some Locust on “drumeo” channel.
They won’t do anything that won’t draw in a huge crowd.
BROO WTF I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS CLIP FOR SOO LONG NOW THANK YOU!
UNBELIEVABLE
RIP. Didn’t get to see em live unfortunately. Fuck. Gabe was Such a great drummer in so many ways

Sofa king good. RiP Gabe
😍😍😍😍
I got to see them with cattle decapitation at the Gilman. Despite being agoraphobic, went to the front to see them.

Serious question 🙋
Are they listening to a click? Their timing is insane
No click
Am I the only one who sees some Buddy Rich in this guy? He plays fast, angry jazz.
Does anyone know what cymbals he used?
I remember seeing him use a bunch of mixed cymbals. But I know I seen him use Paiste Rude crashs before.
gabe is the main guy
