I like how at the end of these new DC trailers, they make recommendations for comics and encourages viewers to visit comic shops.
Definitely a cool move!
Not only did Beetle create a Buster Sword, but that maneuver looks *exactly* like something Zack or Cloud would do as an intimidation display.

This is the first dc non-batman-related movie I'm going to see in theatres ever. Looks amazing and I didn't even knew of Blue Beetle until now.

I was introduced to blue beetle through batman brave and the bold TV show and his character was my favorite there. Probably at some point he'll meet batman Cuz both him and batman has this Tony stark and spiderman relationship.
As a Latino, I can say, it makes perfect sense that Jaime wouldn’t be able to keep a secret identity from his family! Lol Everyone knows everyone’s business in our families.
It’s not like he got the chance to hide it though that was his first time transforming and it happened in front of everyone

thats one thing i always love of Jaime as a character, is one of the only superheroes that is openly honest about his "superpowers" with his friends and family, is realistic especially as a Latino, because for us "family" as Vin Deisel put it, its a big part of our lives for better and for worse
This trailer looks great and that suit is perfect. My one thing is the Scarab. I'm glad it's talking to him, but it sounds too AI, like Friday from Iron Man. The scarab is much more like its own living being. Maybe it will be more "alive" in the full movie. I hope so.

@@ItsMeBarnaby The amount of personality put into it : the scarab has his own goals, his own ambitions. His entire arc in YJ was to actually learn to appreciate his host as a person.
Yes I completely agree! He was a bit of an A hole in YJ and I LOVED that aspect of the character and it’s (the scarab’s) arc in S2

I'm with you guys on this one - I don't have a dog in the Blue Beetle fight but I am rooting for Xolo's career to take off. He's the heart of Cobra Kai and I want nothing but success for him.

Dude, Jaime can make a freaking *Buster Sword* from FF7!!!! Blue Beetle was one of my absolute favorite characters to play as in Injustice 2, and his character in general was funny and endearing; and somehow they made him even COOLER!
It's not just Ted Kord. Ted Kord's costume and Dan Garrett's costume are both visible at 5:18. The original Blue Beetle from 1939.

Big Bad Beetleborgs indeed sir! I had a green Beetleborg action figure back in the day and loved that thing. Almost every other reaction I've seen to the trailer has said, "Power Rangers," about the suit but Jay is the first one to say, "Beetleborgs.: Chefs kiss gentlemen.

DC Blue Beetle trailer looks amazing! It's great to see a lesser known hero getting their own movie and the special effects look top-notch. The casting is spot on and I can't wait to see the chemistry between the characters. The plot looks action-packed and I'm excited to see where the story takes us. This trailer has definitely piqued my interest and I can't wait to watch the movie! 😍😍😍

Par (maybe sub-par?) trailer for a superhero movie. And show virtually the entire first suitup sequence in the first trailer? Yeah. Great idea again, WB. But as long as they don't make it "a kid with an IronMan suit," it should do fine. Here's hoping, because he would be a great addition to James Gunn's universe!

Also super excited for Xolo in his first big starring superhero role! He is such a great actor in Cobra Kai and I'm excited to see what he does in this role too!
Man of Steel, BvS, Wonder Woman and ZSJL were all serious movies but they were still great films.

This looks fun but the suit makes me think so much of the Guyver anime I use to watch in the 90s
-Alien battle armor
-sits on the host back as these bumps until its needed
-the suit will protect the host if he is injured or knocked out.
-The suit can fly, has built in swords, a bunch of lasers, super strong and super fast
-was found by an Evil corporation who wants it back and starts to go after the poor teenagers friends and family.
The original blue beetle was a guy in a blue suit ala batman, this new version of battle armor is only the past 15 years or so I think.
Still going to see the movie but the similarities are interesting

ALot of easter eggs in the trailer. It appears Jaime's sister works for Kord industries and Ted Kord was the 2nd Blue Beetle, Jaime is now the 3rd Blue Beetle.
Big Belly Burger is the burger franchise of dc comics. It appears in alot of dc tv shows.
Raoul Trujillo is the villain, Carapax the Indestructible Man while Susan Sarandon is playing Ted Kords sister, Victoria Kord.
The scarab who is a sentient being is not necessarily evil but its not a good guy. Jaime's loving personality influences the scarab and the scarab and it's somewhat evil tendencies influence Jaime as well.
Trailer looks great but im hoping the 2nd trailer gives more backstory to the scarab and Blue Beetle's history as well.
I think Ted will be a presence but be in the second movie. There was also the suit of the Blue Beetle before Ted! Hoping it gets two sequels and they can build up to The Reach.
That's my hope as well, having read the original run!

Big Bad Beetle Borgs, VR troopers. Seeing as this movie is out in August and if you need a Tokusatsu fix, I would recommend the anime SSSS.Gridman. They animate the monsters like they're guys in rubber suits.

This trailer gave me Deadpool/Venom vibes and also reminded me of Ms.Marvel. Usually not a huge fan of DC movies but I would love to watch this one.

I love the darkness of the DC comics but I agree with Jay in that in live action the best way to draw the audience in is by releasing more of the fun stuff. On the back of the likes of the first Shazam and Peacemaker this is hopefully DC realising it needs to step back from Justice League for a spell and explore the wider verse.
Agreed, Beetleborgs was highly underrated. I'm so glad to see/hear there are people who remember it cause non of my friends do 😂

DC makes outstanding animated movies. If they could just equal that level of quality in this movie I would be so happy. So far it looks like they are on track to do that.
Its kind of giving me Into the Spiderverse vibes in terms of self-discovery journey like Miles. I’ve never been a huge fan of Blue Beetle but Im all for having the characters who’s usually on the side getting the spotlight.

The Jaime version of Blue Beetle is so directly inspired by the Guyver manga/anime, it makes me happy .. but also mad that Guyver itself doesn't get more love! lol
