- This is Dark Falz, the final boss of Episode I, the cause of all the chaos on Ragol. In his Ultimate form, he can use all of his power at his full advantage unlike on lower difficulties. In his first form, he is pretty simple, just be ready to heal if you get hit by too many Darvants or by Heaven's Punisher or Rafoie or Rabarta. In the second form, he gets a huge speed upgrade, and on top of that, when he uses his Rabarta or Rafoie storm, he will summon Darvants around each player that will home in on you, and the Rabarta double hit can still happen. In his final form, Megid now can work on players if it hits, and the chasing lasers will double back on you if they miss initially, making them very hard to dodge.

This game was legendary
I genuinely have the start of this fight from walking up to the center all the way till Dark Falz spawns ingrained in my head from when I was about 10 and my brother was playing this on the Gamecube with the lights off. God I love it so much
It's so amazing. All that horror and then you're greeted with a peaceful meadow.

This game got me through my horrible time at school. Blocking out all the dick heads I had to face daily, counting down the seconds to get home and get into the pso world. This game kept me going.
Same here. To escape to Ragol was a delight during dark times.
@@torers I'm playing Pso2 and one day i went to my alliance hq and the ragol forest music was playing. Memories came rushing back and found it quite emotional. The leader also had a campsite layout and it was nighttime and when you look up you see stars in the galaxy and the white glow of the galactic plain.. . I must have stood there for half an hour and just soaked it all in. Amazing experience.

@@bllllood no idea what expert matching is... I have being playing on the NA server yes since May last year. Still prefer my time playing on the dreamcast. U play it on JP?
@@richiep3520 ya i play on the JP server....4 whole years of game time on the JP serv.....expert matching is a setting that is at least on the jp serv...basicly....the developpers make you go trough really brutal content to clear(optionnal)....if you clear that brutal content you get access to expert matching(you get pair with good players only)......honestly that content is no joke
Normal&Hard joke difficulties...Very hard & Super Hard get a bit serious....Extra Hard and Ultra Hard is full serious mode(very harsh)...Ultimate is a mix of Extra and Ultra hard(difficulty base on when XH and UH came out)....UH is rly insane...mobs hp goes 10-15X highter than XH were EDIT: tanks&healer builds are non-existant on JP serv.....Techer is mostly support but they are expected to DPS too....not just Shifta//Deband
Well, that went from 0 to over 9000 really fast. Here we see the souls of the dammed screaming for help from the ground, and an Eldridge abomination in the form of Dark Falz… makes NGS Falz look like a puppy in comparison.
One of the best games I've played!
@Robert Good it's not as good as the first one tho in terms of quality, everything feels too easy and the magic isn't really there that first one had.

Normal and Hard difficulty for sure...VH and SH are definetly harder than PSO1 already.......XH and UH are just brutal(especially the fights with Phalegs and Masquerade which can 1 shot you dead)...with this said i play on the JP serv..not sure if NA has tone down the difficulties but on JP the 2 hightest difficulties will demolish you real good if you fail ddoge

Those are faces of all the Pioneer 1 residents that has been consumed by Dark Falz, They're poor souls screaming for help, Quite disturbing.
You didn't realize it the first time when the camera literally pans to it? What's it like being blind?
@I can throw a football over them mountains the camera doesn't pan to it in the GC version, and the textures are too low.
Also when Dark Falz goes invincible mode,it's best to go defensive to recover life or get buffs so you can be ready when he starts his attack barrage.
Not much to do as a HuCAST here though. Plus, the server I was playing on had illicit combos put in for things line the L&K38 Combat so you could chain Rafoie blasts up to nine times. Getting buffs also requires someone to buff you, ehehehe...

Well I usually tried to buff the Mag where it focused on certain stats & I wound up getting certain mag builds that gave you invincibility or even the good buffs that way I had an early edge on Dark Falz since I mainly play solo now but even when I played PSO 1 & 2 online,I made sure to carry the best health options,the items that returned you to life,& also added bonuses from the items that gave you permanent stat increase but I agree that what you built was intresting though having an extra person does make a big difference.
@@gozucritic4546 Ah, yeah. The invincibility was overpowered in v1, but not as good here. The buffs the from the MAGs are level 10 at best though, if I recall correctly.

I remember that when I played PSO 1 & then PSO 2 for the Dreamcast since it made a world of difference plus I remember making a mag that had a percentage of the invincibility going off though getting the magic & defense buff was always great to have since it lessened how much Dark Falz took off your life.
It's mainly the reason why I don't speed run because I usually try to find all the different materials so I can have higher stats till they maxed out,incase I built my mag the wrong way.
i remember you could still hit it with ice attacks or the sunlight spell, can't remember the name for it
Good old Dark Falz. I remember many many hours playing this game. Got to lv.198. HUmar. Had loterally the best gear you could get. A legit Tsumikiri J-Sword unlocked, Virus Armor Lafuteria 4-slots. Olga Flow had a better track though. Couldn't figure out why a boss that's more difficult than Dark Falz would only be worth 10% more XP. Falz is worth 50k on Ultimate and Olga Flow is worth 55k. Also, LOVE the Yazminkov. Hardly saw them used for real on PSO. Same with the Spread Needle. Great Hunter accessible guns.
Spread needle was so busted I had one at +99
wow i forgot how absurdly tedious this fight was.
only as android due to limited healing....second phase(not counting flowers as a phase) is annoying with the freezing....third phase not too awful if Foie spam him....you should check out fat legs and Mask a rat on PSO2...those 2 will mop the floor with you a hundred time XD(fat legs is a requirement to beat for expert setting)
@Robert Good i got an acc on the JP servers ship 02...but currently PSO2 isn't install...need to purchase a high quality comp again b4 i start to play once more....cant help ya out with the installation though(memory faillure)..i can at most answer very basic questions

I think giving a boss an unavoidable attack move is such BS, and a cheap method to give difficulty to a boss fight.
In any case, nice victory!
This takes me back to when my friends and I 4v1'd this guy on Ultimate and celebrated crazily when we finally won.
If you are referring to Megid, you can actually negate it by having high Dark Resist or EDK. I do believe at 80+ you can avoid instantaneous death from any level of Megid. Unless you are referring to being killed by Rabarta. That is a glitch that can make you get hit by it multiple times and if you are frozen, that is indeed instantaneous death. This can also be mitigated entirely by having a Cure / Freeze. Those are really the only times where you can't have it be avoided. I can agree with you in some instances. This is the first part of the franchise to evolve from the standard turn-based RPG, so I'm not totally against it here.
Yeah, Megid, that's it. And I figured you were wearing some equips with dark/devil resist, which indeed helps.

Nope, I just choose to not care. Alternatively, Scape Dolls negate any instant death scenario.

You can just run out of the way of Megid...the only spell, you can't get away from is Grants.

Most likely, as this game predates that one by a few years. The design is supposed to resemble Red Ring Rico and an otherwise amalgam of evil.

When it says miss when you are shooting at it when it’s shiny is a hint that you are wasting ammo
Is it possible to beat this game/boss on your own or do you need friends to achieve it ? Also, can you control a full party or only your character ? And finally, are there any servers still online ? (on pc I mean, I know the dreamcast ones have shut down) Thanks!
You can beat it yourself. It is must easier with friends but you can do this solo. Yes, there is the servers online. Just google PSO Private server. The one I currently play on is Sodaboy's server at ephinea.net. You can only play as your character, not as a party of people.

This is widely considered one of the best games ever made along with its predecessors. It still has a huge fan following
torers I agree. I played it on dreamcast in 2000 but I never finished it. And PS4 is my favorite PS. Great saga.
@@RasAnnunaki VH beatable at lvl 38 offline(if your an android or FOnewearl you gonna need full mats distribution(by full mats i dont mean flooding of Def mats..i mean HP mats mostly and perf build distribution) to take him on at that lvl on VH......Android due to limited healing and FOnewearl due to very low hp//defense which result in getting 1 shotted).....for the Ult version you can technicly rush him as soon as you got above 621 HP as non-android//fonewhearl...Androids and FOnewearl need like lvl 90 to beat him on Ult.......OFFLINE BTW....Online the boss dmg and hp will be greater which may result in 20-40 extra levels needed(40 for droids//FOnewearl and 20 for non-cast HU&RA and the other 3 Forces)(solo ofc)......FOnewhearl is a killing machine for both bossing and mobbing XD once you get pass her HP issue she's epic
torer question..since you seem still active on this old video of your...are you attacking falz now since that era when he reflect dmg back at you ?(couple foie cast are safe if your other party members ain't whacking it along with you)..machine gun whack on the other hand is too risky if a crit occur XD

@@bllllood he has a pattern, and you can avoid Megid with high enough dark resistance.
Probably a dumb question, but how were you able to shorten the wait period between the last attack and the next attack string for your mechguns? Whenever I use them, I always have to suffer a painfully long lag at the end of a mechgun attack before I can move again.
***** I'm not using mech guns. I'm confused. If you are referring to the Master Raven, it fires three shots each time, it's a handgun. The L&K 38 Combat is a shotgun that fires its five shots in a single point. On top of that, I have V101 equipped which increases attack speed.
Huh. I could've sworn those were mechgun type weapons. Master Raven being a handgun obviously answers why you can move again so soon after finishing a string. My mistake.
***** No problem. Mech guns are always paired weapons. No such thing a single mechgun. Then it would be PSU :p

Raise your MAG to have POW. Don't use Evasion or Def Materials you see.

And then you remember that giant abomination you're fighting is supposed to be a mutated form of Rico, and you can just barely make out what's left of her body with that tiny humanoid shape around the chest. Imagine how fucking traumatizing that has to be, to have that all happened to you.

Machine guns are boss if you have the ones that do more % damage to enemies in the ruins & also them having the drain hp skill. 😆
Juan there something you gotta know about attribute %.....(tested myself).....machine gun barely benefit from those %(except for the Hit rate)..the attribute formula work this way....Weapon ATP X %....so if a Machine gun has 22 attack for say and you get a 50% boost....thats +11 attack only...only 3 Mech Guns actually benefit from % in a decent//solid amount......Yasminkov 9000M(60-100 ATP) ....Red Mech Guns(110-110 ATP) and Guld Milla(198-218 ATP)...L&K14 Combat has 55-70 ATP(terrible for % boost)...and any other Machine Guns has 40 and bellow ATP.....L&K14 Combat base atp outdo a set of Vulcans with 50% boost due to that(if your feeding a hunter Mech Guns)

The Nearest Place to Heaven PART 1 plays before you touch the Obelisk. The Nearest Place to Heaven PART 2 plays after you touch it. Pray, for "IDOLA" The Distorted plays during phase 1 and 2 and Cry, For "IDOLA" The Holy for the final phase.

@@jonathangarrett8394 WoW has gone to a state of garbage :S too grindy since Legion.....i left at the end of Draenor...got back into it during bfa to find out everything is absurd grind design for ppl running 3-4 bots....decided to give up at the end of bfa with those annoying visions of n'zoth(got my black serpent but fed with the grind)....btw try out PSO2 JP servers ;) you can create your dream character with a near endless wardrobe at choice...well popular costumes are probably all sold out though :S...but ya...any product from activision are dead to me and deserve defaming

too long it took a time with a FOrce buffs, i can solo beat it for 20-23 mins with RAcast lvl 150-160
Remember boss HP and power scales with more players.
