This game will always have such a intense connection to my childhood. Everything was simpler, nostalgia is such a weird feeling. Anyone else feel like it's a mix between deja vu and like a warm feeling in your body, but at the same time your neck tingles and have chills? haha I know that's weird but that's how it manifests for me.
Wow I completely agree but I feel weird for responding this way. Part of me is like wow cmon man it’s just game soundtrack, the other part of me really acknowledges these feelings that the song invokes and embraces the warm nostalgia
@@Channel-bl3ph That's because OSTs today aren't what they use to be, they might slap or make you feel something. But not like this, this is not just music, it's a catalyst for us to explore our emotion, our thoughts and most importantly, our hopes for the future.
Creating your character was always such a good part in the game, too (which is where this music is in PSO). Literally no danger, a safe space, a haven. It’s like a scent of perfume you haven’t smelled in decades, teleporting you back if only for a moment.
I always kept a character slot open on my old PSO (dreamcast), just so I could sit and listen to this music while playing other games or doing other things.
@@King-yj2jx I actually commented on a 7 year old comment just to be right. This is just an online rpg, not an mmo as it's not a game which a large number of people can play simultaneously. In fact, since it can be played in single player already makes me right.
@@Idkwhattoput-p2s eh its still more mmo than not. The only thing that puts it up for debate is the fact there's no PvE elements in the player lobby. It's the fact that multiple players can log into a server and interact with each other. Until it's not advertised as an MMORPG and WoW and other games alike are not referred to as "open world MMORPG", it's a pointless debate and you can continue to roam the internet attempting to defend it.
Damn this hits me hard. The nostalgia I feel right now can bring anyone to their knees and cry... Im so glad I still have this game and I'm playing it right now too! Redria Ranger to farm God battles for my other characters :)
Just happened upon this song after youtubing PSO. Never actually played PSO but after reading the comments on the gameplay video I was watching I looked into the character select music I'm happy I did! Another song to add to my library!
This song and creating my HUcast is always the most exciting nostalgic moment whenever I come back to pso. Fact: this game's ost is criminally underrated, I may be biased because of childhood nostalgia but there really are some amazing tracks in this game.
I actually come from the same comment. Having played this game a bit and loving the band, I would never have saw that it was the same song without this comment.
Late night start of the weekend rolling up a fat joint with some Tostinos on the side creating my 80th character on PSO with no worries and no bills just pure whole hearted gaming. Nothing will ever replicate this feeling for me like this song does. This is why they say enjoy your time while you are young because you will only live once.
The original character creation theme. This has gotten many remixes made for the game's successors. PSU, PSO2, PSO2: NGS, they are all remixes of this one theme and they all sound awesome.
my dream is to revive this game and make it lively again. granted everyone's gonna be noob players cuz none of my friends have ever played this before but once i get a reliable internet connection for my laptop i'm gonna make sure more people get to experience this!
Fuckin love this game, anyone on psobb ultima ever find me, my character names are Blaze FE, and my other is Blaze V E. I'd post my guild card but I can't right now, maybe I'll edit this comment with it sometime. This music is so nostalgic. ❤️
Have no clue wtf phantasy star online is and I don't really care enough to find out but a random comment told me that this sampled tears of a star by casiopea so here I am, sick
For some context, it's a sci-fi fantasy game series by Sega (makers of Sonic the Hedgehog) pretty heavily inspired by Star Wars. In it's 1999 release of Phantasy Star Online (the first online multiplayer game in the series), this was the song that played during the character creation screen :)
I think about this game and sometimes have the urge to write a fan fiction based on this game as a tribute but part of me disagrees as even authors like George R Martin have a good point on the negative impact that sort of thing would have on writers.
I wish this game got some sort of remake where it could finally get the mainstream recognition it deserved all along. Not a huge fan of the sequel in all honesty.
Back then when you already made your hunter girl have big boobs and how you spend hours trying to pick a name for her because you want the perfect ID for that one 1 in a 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000th chance of getting.
This game means so much to me. Such a large impact on my life. Wish I could meet other people who understand the feeling.
Idc tbh
I understand the feeling very well.
yeah i love this too i play the game all day on my gamecube in offline and actually i play all day with the FOnewearl

I get the feeling 1000% this game was released at the right time, with the perfect soundtrack and for those of us who were there, we know.

A beautiful game with a beautiful ost.
moozey it's that the moozey i know?
moozey!
Ah ~ the memories playing this in highschool.
I miss those days.
The beginning of a legend. PSO was the ultimate concept for a sci-fi MMORPG.
I agree with you on that
Not an MMO...

For those who don't know this, Phantasy Star Online create a character theme was sampled from Tears of the stars by Cassiopeia.
not really a sample, but a clear inspiration

This is by far one of the best songs on a game, with Ocarina's of time menu song. Long live to good good memories!!!
Not sure whats more comfy, this song, or the game.
nichijou pfp, nice!
I like your profile pic
Feeling the same way man, playing this with my brother on the GC was a great time!
A random comment on a Casiopea song (Tears of the star) bring me here
NICE!
Same

Welcome to the first online MMO that ever graced consoles.
I can't love this tune more, no matter if 20+ years have passed.
Man this take me back to making my first character, hanging out in the lobbies and getting my hands on a Spreads Needles
The synth buildup in this really reminds me of "Kool and The Gang - Summer Madness"
It's a sample I've heard it other songs
The Oc Remix for this song is incredible

I wish that PSO was real so my life will be completed
Right! I mean kinda did pso2 but yea
Plus I have the game at home and about to play it now
Max Caulfield psp2 was epic really fun online
If only someone makes a VR Dreamcast emulator...
Strangely relatable
I was about to comment how I can't hear the Casiopea sample and then it actually happened.
was really good :D

It was also in a Roblox game called sonic projector rp but the theme was change in the Roblox game
