I'm a young 47 year old. Quickly turning into a crotchety old man. Intronaut give me hope for modern music. Tired of all the deaf ears saying there is no good music these days. They're not listening. Intronaut was a great discovery. They're technical but musical. A tough combination to achieve.
I was 16 when i got into the prog. metal scene. BTBAM, Animals as Leaders, The Contortionist,, Intronaut, and Dillinger Escape Plan are just a few headliners i've experienced at a concert over the past 7 years. Can't believe there all near or way past the 10 year mark of being a band. Really wantingto check out Gojira in 2018. @hueseph: check out these bands or i can send you a few links to some of my favorite song.. Cheers from Illinois
@@re1840 You guys are really lucky. India had a fast growing metal scene in the 2010s but it has completely died down now. And international artists have stopped coming since the Metallica Incident in 2011. Hate this country.
Imperial Curry talked to them after their show in Lyon a couple of months ago, they are indeed big potheads xD The bass player told me stories about his 70 yo mother growing big ass weed plants
Finally after many years I feel like I can actually comprehend this song. It’s so complex with so much depth. It’s actually insane. What a masterpiece.. Whole album is just nuts. Truly sublime metal here.
This is probably the best song I've heard in my life. Complex instrumentals, brutally honest lyrics with melodic and emotive vocals. These guys are easily the best metal band going around in my opinion
Gonna go out on a limb and call this one of my favourite prog songs ever..I pray that Intronaut one day gets the recognition they so truly, sorely deserve...
+upek10 I'd say the most original and underrated band is Arcane (Arcane Australia, there's like 10 bands names Arcane, so they sometimes are called Arcane Australia).
We sit and stare; contempt for it all, We take umbrage at the transience of our machine. Show us how to live, Show us who we are. I love that, especially the use of “umbrage.”
So creative, NO other band out there sounds like these guys. This would be impossible to emulate as every player has such personality; just when you think you've settled in to a song and can guess where it's going, they take a left turn with something totally unique and unexpected. There's so much going on here, love it -- Intronaut just seem to go from strength to strength and I can't wait to see what the final product is like on this album.
Saw these guys last night, I was scared that they would be one of those bands that only sound good in the studio but I'm so glad I was wrong. These dudes are some of the finest musicians I've ever had the pleasure of seeing live
Show us how to lead. Show us who we are. ....Why is no one talking about this super melodic groovy chorus (for lack of a better name) in 9/8. Fuggin' gorgeous.
Saw these guys in Chicago a while back. With this album added to their collection, they are hands down my new favorite band. Such great tone, rhythm, chords, etc - and those choruses of they're spark way too many feels. AND I met them and holy fuck they are the coolest dudes...
I'm so happy I pre-ordered this. If each song on the album is as varied and complex as Fast Worms and Digital Gerrymandering, then this album is going to be phenomenal.
+RegentDorn I'll get it sooner than if I were to wait and buy it the day it came out (online). Also, saves me the fuss of having to order it when it comes out as well.
+Matthew Hurley So, not what djent would sound like...ever!? :P I think djent would have sounded more like SikTh's first album and early-mid Meshuggah ('Destroy Erase Improve' up to 'Nothing'), or at least taken SikTh's philosophy of playing absolutely batshit crazy eclectic music with little regard for tradition or formula.
Just to clarify not saying this song is "djenty" - that's an insult to Intronaut frankly - but it does use the Meshuggah style of polyrhythmic heavy riffing but in a way that's actually interesting and not in the generic djent style that Periphery have made commonplace in the past 5 years or so. Plus it doesn't have that shitty plastic sounding AxeFX guitar tone.
+Matthew Hurley Give me a break there are lots of current "djent" bands that are awesome for example, Vildjharta, tesseract, Sikth, Skyharbor, Monuments, the omega virus, textures, ovids withering and more. Intronaut is more of a progressive rock band with some metal influence anyways.
Zach R Have you listened to Void or Prehistoricisms? That description might be true for the more recent albums but at very least Intronaut started out as a metal band, and they definitely are reintroducing some heavier elements on this album as well. And idk the whole AxeFX metal thing really doesn't appeal to me at all personally. Sikth is good, Tesseract and Textures have their moments but are too homogenous to sustain repeated listens imo. The rest I either haven't heard of or don't like. If you think different that's fine, different strokes for different folks. I just don't find especially most of the more recent djent bands to have anything near the creativity of a band like Intronaut, who here are using musical elements that are comparable to that scene but in a more interesting way imo.
I like the warm and resonant production on these new songs. I liked the last album but I thought it sounded a bit sparse and "dry". That section that starts at 7:00 is so groovy
The stuff you listen to on your stream (atleast from what i've heard) is metal-core with a hint of progressive elements (terra, intervals, northlane) ie; metalcore with some odd syncopation (but no real jazzy elements or odd time signatures).I find Alot of progressive death/sludge/stoner metal take it a step further with their progressive elements and incorporate a lot more into their music. Please check out Gorguts, Obscura, Cynic, Between the Buried and Me, and The Faceless, if you get the chance dude!! You might have to let this type of music grow on you though (which could take a while). Keep Burnin shit!
I really don't see why these guys aren't huge. I expected it to happen after Habitual Levitations and it didn't. Same for this album. I just don't understand.
i honestly was scared to listen to this new album but im glad i did because its still intronaut and still nit mainstream sounding they are just so complex and emotional killing birds with stones is my favorite song ;)
+DandelionVolta I guess so! but you can't deny if you go listen to Brent Hinds singing and Mastodon that that isn't straight up Mastodon right there ;)
Guys, is there anyone out there who could PLEASE tab this song? This is so fucking good. I know the whole song is quite a lot, but I'd love a tab for that tapping part at 6:26. Can't stop listening to this, but my ears aren't that good for getting all notes. Thanks a lot.
+Mac Graphically would be something like this: "I" = hit, "." = silence I . . I . . I . . I . . I . . I . . I . . and repeating -> this is the cymbal at the beginning. I . . . . . . I . . . . . . I . . . . . . and repeating -> this is the bassdrum and the guitar attacks at the beggining. Every 3 bassdrums and 7 cymbals it starts again, hope this clarifies it :D

That's what I tell everyone: you gotta look.

this is a perfect example of why i love metal so much
Intronaut now sell grinders on their merch website, which is appropriate as their music is dank as fuck.
+James Marshall they often admitted being huge potheads
James Marshall lmao thats sf funny😂 i do love this band when im smokin so i can see why theyd sell grinders
Imperial Curry talked to them after their show in Lyon a couple of months ago, they are indeed big potheads xD The bass player told me stories about his 70 yo mother growing big ass weed plants
Yvan Cluet lol thats awesome, good weed good music👌
Finally after many years I feel like I can actually comprehend this song. It’s so complex with so much depth. It’s actually insane. What a masterpiece.. Whole album is just nuts. Truly sublime metal here.
Intronaut is one of those rare bands that seems to get better every release. can't wait to get my hands on this full album.
This is probably the best song I've heard in my life. Complex instrumentals, brutally honest lyrics with melodic and emotive vocals. These guys are easily the best metal band going around in my opinion
Yep. 10/10 song. Can’t find another band that makes music similar enough to Intronaut.
Starts off so unassuming that you almost don't realize it's going to turn into something ridiculously amazing. I can't wait to hear the whole album.
Gonna go out on a limb and call this one of my favourite prog songs ever..I pray that Intronaut one day gets the recognition they so truly, sorely deserve...
It's probably most original and underrated band. They're not getting the attention that they deserve :(
+Tyler D Out of those bands though, anytime I have mentioned Intronaut they have never heard of the name.
+upek10 I'd say the most original and underrated band is Arcane (Arcane Australia, there's like 10 bands names Arcane, so they sometimes are called Arcane Australia).
+upek10 That's why the are so great, they're not to please a big audience just the good listener.
+upek10 they are good with mastodon so i think they will help this guys to get popular, sometimes they play as an opener at mastodon concerts
+upek10 They're on Century Media records...
We sit and stare; contempt for it all,
We take umbrage at the transience of our machine.
Show us how to live,
Show us who we are.
I love that, especially the use of “umbrage.”
Can definitely hear the Cloudkicker influence on the outro riff. awesome.
My favorite Intronaut song by far.
So creative, NO other band out there sounds like these guys. This just keeps on getting better on each listen, so gooooood
This is why its called prog metal. Amazing, dude.
WOW, THIS TRACK SOUNDS SO DIFFERENT THAN EVERYTHING YOU GUYS HAVE COMPOSED. SO FRESH! CAN'T WAIT FOR THE RELEASE!!!
alone the fact that you can actually hear the bass with this band makes it worth listening
Show us how to lead. Show us who we are. ....Why is no one talking about this super melodic groovy chorus (for lack of a better name) in 9/8. Fuggin' gorgeous.
Can't get enough of this album. They just keep getting better. Best metal album since Koloss and arguably better than that
Poly-meters, poly-rhythms, AND odd time signatures all in the same song? Intronaut absolutely kicks ass.
One of my favorite songs of all time.
Saw these guys live with Between The Buried And Me in Cincinnati, phenomenal musicians to say the least.
+Tom Devaney What´s the point of preordering ? It´s not like there´s a possibility that you won´t get your copy.
+RegentDorn I think the band gets more of the money when purchased through pre-order.
+RegentDorn I'll get it sooner than if I were to wait and buy it the day it came out (online). Also, saves me the fuss of having to order it when it comes out as well.
+RegentDorn the benefits of preordering are getting limited editions as well as preorder bundle items.
Just listen on Spotify and get a physical copy directly from them at a show...that's the best way to truly support these guys
such a richly layered track. gorgeous
This might be the best new metal song i've heard all year. Holy crap thats amazing.
I saw them perform this for the first time when they opened for Meshuggah ealier this year. Didn't even have vocals at the time.
I swear every time I think Intronaut can't possibly get any better, they prove me wrong. This is what djent would sound like if it didn't suck.

Zach R SikTh are a cut above the other bands you mentioned, they exist on a different plane to nearly all metal bands.
Zach R Have you listened to Void or Prehistoricisms? That description might be true for the more recent albums but at very least Intronaut started out as a metal band, and they definitely are reintroducing some heavier elements on this album as well.

+Zach R You can thank the great Devin Townsend for that ;)
Devin Townsend has quite the way with production. Man is a sonic genius on all levels.
Actually Devin was responsible for mixing, not production on this album, at least it's what wikipedia says.
Just awesome, very original band.
Intronaut and Meshuggah make my drummer brain happy.
This track goes through so many emotions and proves why the 'NAUT are at the top of their game! So fucking good!!!
Kick ass track. Kudos to the person that mixed these drums in the studio.
Woah. This is next level. Almost too complex for my puny mainstream taste soaked brain. Gotta get this album.
+Hansol no WAY!I Very happy to see you here friend. Stop listening to that metalcore stuff man ;)
+alex nordlund I believe that this band is progressive metal. Progressive metal is my fav metal sub genre.
+alex nordlund Thanks man : )
+alex nordlund Stop listening to metalcore? Stop being an elitist..
Simply amazing. No more words to describe it.
it starts with a ''' what is going on?'' fills up with a ''whoa'' it ends with a '' don't leave me please''
Best band ever. I waiting to see them in Rome in september! i can't wait!
unreal... cant wait for the album!
this is such great album.
the rythme is awsome
I really don't see why these guys aren't huge. I expected it to happen after Habitual Levitations and it didn't. Same for this album. I just don't understand.
they arent djent or super catchy. thats what is popular right now
Oh god...This is so beautiful...
17/16 x 3 measures on guitars while drums doing a quarter note time signature 👌 😎 😉
so excited to see them in a few weeks
What a beauty!
Take my money.
BDP Games sure
i honestly was scared to listen to this new album but im glad i did because its still intronaut and still nit mainstream sounding they are just so complex and emotional killing birds with stones is my favorite song ;)
Awesome track.
you can definitley hear that devin produced this
Perfetto !!!
I couldn't get into their last album but this sounded great from the first listen
+DandelionVolta their last one is their best. so far
+Izak Ryssen I'll have to go back to it eventually
the end of this is simply sickening/10
So Damn good..... love it
7:13 that ending djenty asf, still banging this shitt
best band
Saw these guys live last month in El Paso. Fucking blew me away. They definitely made me a fan.
BEST BAND OUT THERE
Head's still smoking from the hole that outro just blew in it.
THIS IS SO NICE
wooooaaaah

7:13
Thank you Ben Sharp
Awerosme jam
Damn this is good!
esta chingo vatos
wow..
I listen everyday
this is just too good to be true. O.O
Damn this is really badass!
Straight up Meshuggah at the end.
Chaotic Serenity at its best
Century ! i want the lyrics in the description pleaaaaase
7:2 polymeter seems weak on paper but the use of it here was really effective
holy fuck I think I will need this... as fast as possible
The 1 dislike is either someone who is blind or deaf.
Holy shit this is so good
i wonder, are they still playing in drop b?
trippy
Holy shit! What a fucking song! Well done Intronaut!
Guess what? This song fucking rips insanely.
Yeaaaahhhh boi
Šī ir riktīga mērce!
seriously Mastodon moment at 1:30 .. literally sounds like Hinds singing there!
+Kenny Parry It reminded me more of The Ocean
+DandelionVolta I guess so! but you can't deny if you go listen to Brent Hinds singing and Mastodon that that isn't straight up Mastodon right there ;)
Guys, is there anyone out there who could PLEASE tab this song? This is so fucking good.
I know the whole song is quite a lot, but I'd love a tab for that tapping part at 6:26. Can't stop listening to this, but my ears aren't that good for getting all notes. Thanks a lot.
Intronaut - The Pleasant surprise - We are not worthy
Lurks, please.
2 against 7 polyrythm. niiiiice!
+Vosprey You are right, my bad.
+Vosprey What does that mean? 3/4 against 7/4?
+Mac Graphically would be something like this:
"I" = hit, "." = silence
I . . I . . I . . I . . I . . I . . I . . and repeating -> this is the cymbal at the beginning.
I . . . . . . I . . . . . . I . . . . . . and repeating -> this is the bassdrum and the guitar attacks at the beggining.
Every 3 bassdrums and 7 cymbals it starts again, hope this clarifies it :D
Guido Bisocoli That's awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to explain that, it's a lot clearer now! :)
3:03
Goddam this is good song
MMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm this shit is fucking tasty.
Yee. Can't wait for the album to drop.
does anyone one know good bands like this
Sinik!!!!!
That outro..
So fucking good!
Modern day Voivod?
+uscguis easily!
Everybody else can now play catch up(:
yessssss fucking crush it
This is great, but I'm not a big fan of how the clean vocals sound here.
Tool+Opeth+Meshuggah+..........i don't remember.
Between the Buried and Me?
And some Pelican, and quite Cult of luna, im sure.
Mastodon
All of the above, honestly
The outro: put on prog stank face
