the promotion of absolute garbage is not good.ive just spent 4 days on a mountain a couple turned up with a load of garbage just like your prompting.it was a nice day, a really nice, however, around 9pm the weather turned I knew from experience that this couple where in trouble.the wind picked up I was watching from my sensibly chosen for the environment and possible weather conditions tent and just felt sorry for them their garbage tent got smashed to bits then the rain came and that was it for them.they had a small dog that was terrified by the strength of the wind which was blowing their tent flat.you could see the outline of them as the wind flattened their tent.they ended up having to bail in the dark with insufficient clothing and gear that was destroyed they had at least a 4/5 mile hike of a mountain in terrible conditions in the dark with no head torches.i blame people like you promoting rubbish that couple probably won't go again.i was in a fjallraven abisko shape 2 and that was taking a beating that couple had no chance.your irresponsible if you want to by garbage keep it to yourself and let people buy decent gear they will be safe in.

Wonderful way to make sure almost all can feel included or feel it is an option to get outdoors! So many channels focus on gear costing +$300 an item now a days that its such a refreshing sight to see people still letting people know you can get in at a lower price to see if its for them. Would prefer a waterproof tent even for those starting out haha but i love the message you are putting out there! Keep it up! :)

I love envelope sleeping bags, but damned near impossible to get around here. I'd have to say with a little fettling on the seams and a cheap tarp underneath that's a pretty decent first tent for the price. You can pick up a reflective windscreen sun cover for under a fiver in Lidls, been using them for years and they're excellent.

Great stuff and well done! I would never disparage anyone for using cheap gear, sometimes it's all you can afford. Once upon a time I had very little money but I also had a 12 y.o. daughter who wanted to do "a proper bushwalk". So I bought a $20 (Aust) tent from a supermarket, 2 x CCF pads, and some cheap disposal store sleeping bags. We used this set-up for three years until I could afford better. For two or 3 day walks it worked just fine. Your tent actually looks pretty good.

Daley, I know I had a pop previously about certain videos but I want to say i appreciate your humour now that I've watched more of you.
This set up is great for a fair weather try out, better than buying a £900 Hilleberg and a stupidly priced Jetboil then deciding wild camping is shite! I'm a keen bikepacker and there's so much gear snobbery involved with that, I ride on what I can afford, kip in what I've got and balls to the gear elitists who mostly struggle to even get up a hill without almost passing out.
    All the best 👍

I love your videos, but perhaps the missing part here was/is: Did the cheap tent leak in that rain, haha?
(For younger viewers, 'haha' means much the same as LOL. And we often use that abbreviation, even when there's nothing actually funny. Like an apology, LOL. )
I'm only asking because my same version of this Outoccasionally, andsometimessunny tent arrived yesterday, but I have yet to use it - and am wondering if I need to do the seam seal thing, especially in summer 2024.
PS. I ordered mine via Temu, but it was delivered direct in three days from a UK importer, and that only cost me £27quid. Haha/LOL.
I did notice when I ordered this tent that, despite it claiming to be a '2 man' tent, the inner is only 80cms wide, and that to me means, even when camping as a couple, you'd have to be on top of each other. So it's maybe a newlyweds tent - or else a relationship breaker.
On the plus side, I bought this as a lightweight, solo one man tent. My scales say that, with all the essential bits in the bag, it actually weighs in a 1.9kgs - so maybe I'll switch to some lighter pegs.
Size isn't everything and, since I'm only about 5' 7" , I probably won't worry about the inner length. The inner groundsheet strength sounds like a potential issue - with a Screwfix tarp/footprint maybe the essential add-on for a rocky terrain.
PPS. Has your dog given up camping, after that last traumatic experience? Only asking because I think my pup might fit in this tent.
PPPS. Thanks again. This is just the sort of camping video most newbies need - not the obsessive ones, about views or about lightweight and expensive gear. The key thing about camping for me, even when on a campsite, is that it gives me a different experience, away from the stresses of modern work or family life. And to be surrounded by greenery and fresh air, but without a TV or household jobs to do, is very liberating. Plus, as a short holiday, it can cost virtually nothing. For example, check out your local YHA camping options, which start at just £10 per night, and that includes hot water showers and flushing toilets.
