    The whole no tractor beam on the assault worries me as I think it should have ad least one or we should be able to choose a specific turret to replace with a tractor beam.

    Very nice observation about the Cat's command module. More weapons and a tractor beam! I'm thinking many gamers are also unmelting a cat to go with their assaults.

    For the assault you could just carry around some of the small MPUV tractor ships and just dump them when you run out of room. And just buy nee ones when ever you dump your old ones 😜😅.

    If CIG ever sold a Yellow Canary, I swear the the Q&A would include questions like "Is it Yellow', and 'is it a Canary'? Thank you for the Q&A presentation and the lolz :)

    I think the weight the questions on Spectrum not only by upvotes but by upvotes of people that have not purchased the ship. However, they would get more traffic to a ship's launch and info page if they did not answer questions that are clearly and easily answered on these pages.

    It's a CARGO ship. Small ships might liock down , but if you don't have the ability to rearm, repair those ships its not a mini carrier in my opinion. Vs the Liberator which should have those abilities. It can haul those small ships.. but still not have the functios of a carrier

    • @viscounttudon68
      @viscounttudon68 2 місяці тому +1

      The assault has a dedicated repair bay that they said will be able to repair components. Still won’t be able to carry nearly as many ships/vehicles as the Liberator, but imo the two are not competing for the same spot.

    Respawn ship in another ship means in hangar, when you calling ironclad you will call another ship to respawn inside. Not in the middle of space to respawn something that you did not bring first place with you.

    40x21x7.5 dimensions means it could possibly fit a vulture! The vulture might be a little too high but if you're willing to keep the roof open you have a means to salvage in other systems

      Currently, all ships with hangars or other opening features need to have those closed to engage the quantum drive.

      Agree with your conment regarding vacuum operations and the Hercules series. They are ground to ground [or hangars] vehicle transport specialists primarily. So Drake ships like the Caterpillar & Ironclad rule the vacuum skies. 😅

    An i missing something about the jump drive? Are quantum drives the same as a quantum jump drive? I thought quantum was all in system and quantum jump drives we're required for jump points

      Quantum drives allow you to go from planet to planet, moon to moon etc as we do in Stanton. Jump drives will allow you to jump from System to System ie Stanton to Pyro 😁

    The Liberator was supposed to be the "mini-carrier" in preparation for the Kraken. Tired of CIG's games... Still waiting on the backlog to get released.

  • @BlackMage_01

    Am I the only one who doesn't want to use this thing as a pocket carrier? (like everyone endlessly tries to theory craft with every ship with a cargohold bigger than a Connie)
    The true answer: it doesn't matter. there are already ships for that.
    I look forward to this thing because A) drake is best. and B) cargo hauling looks fantastic, be it your own cargo for trading or missions.

    • @vonrosphe3098
      @vonrosphe3098 2 місяці тому

      The thing with the carrier is: We need small carriers. And in the moment we only have the crucible and the liberator for this role.
      And if you want to protect a convoy or just want to transport some smaller ships through a larger system you need a carrier. And some ships are just to large for this (like the Kraken)
      And the Ironclad is the only "carrier" you want to use next to a combat. You don't want your crucible or lieberator to close to an enemy.

    • @BlackMage_01
      @BlackMage_01 2 місяці тому

      @@vonrosphe3098 heres the thing though: we dont know any of that or what we want or need yet. people theorycraft about this game too hard and too specific for where we're at. Also I don't think we'll need carriers to protect convoys. there are large escort ships like the Hammerhead which will keep up on a long haul and ships like the Vanguard and other long-range fighters.
      Crucible probably not, but the Liberator might be able to get closer to the fight than people think.
      Again: we just don't know. the standard ship is a cargo hauler, maybe you can move from base to base easier by putting your smaller vessels in and going once or twice. the assault might be better for what you're thinking, but it was never my interest so go for it.

    Space carrier...lol except for yhe fact they say once you pop the top everything gets sucked into vacuum of space. Boy they gonna have a hard time dealing with these ships once this game goes live because what people want to do compared to what is marketed clashes on every concept moreso lately than in the past. Instead of just releasing a carrier with defined design they do this and people just run with it and give them money for doing so. I wish people with money and influence could say enough is enough stop manipulating ship design but that has yet to happen.

    We have been trained to never trust the brochure, no stats are ever firm and concept launch for any ship is all about style over substance. Clarification of specific advertised points in the Q&A just means those points are "more likely" to remain through the entire construction phase.
