Once somebody figures out how to make something similar to Leatherman, they will never sell out again. I feel like customers are really getting tired of waiting.
Breaks my heart to see a company like leatherman giving up day after day. But its been a long time i found solutions to replace that crap
I tell you. If a company makes the leap to design a 1/4 in line bit driver. They will make a mint. Drives me nuts that leatherman is the only game in town. I find it hard to believe no one has done it yet.
Very nice! I have been trying to buy a Leatherman ratchet for 1 1/2 years now. One would think…. With such high demand for the Leatherman ratchet…….. Leatherman would get their act together and get some product on the shelf. It’s just another sign that Leather is asleep at the wheel. I like the solution that you came up with first and online ratchet. I’m going to go down that route! Thank you!
Glad to help!
It's funny you mentioning Leatherman's ratcheting bit driver not being available on their site. Yup, I checked earlier today and it's gone...then I checked ebay. I laughed when I saw how much they're going for. That's crazy!
More content with the skeletool and its carabiner-like competitors.
I love this type of workarounds 👍👍👍
Surely, by that stage, you might as well just carry a bit handle as well?
Maybe so, LoL! It is a bit overkill but just trying to give people options.
Sir, I bet that soon enough there will be a flex head or swivel head version of the mini ratchet with a leatherman style flat base. That way you get both, inline ratcheting for speed, and offset for torque.
That would be great!
That is not there only problem, that being said Thank you for the information 👍
Game changer!
I ditched my leatherman surge for the rocktol sko5 surge clone which comes with a full blown 1/4in driver to start with which greatly improves my ratcheting choices..
It definitely does!
I got a ratchet from woodcraft for $5 and put a 1/4 bit in it. It's bigger though.
I got tired for trying to get a ratchet adapter for my ARC. I just picked up a Victorinox Swiss Tool with the ratchet and extension and it works great. I do miss how compact the leatherman bit kits are. But I can get 1/4 bits anywhere
Very nice!
This is a nice video, but everything about it just reinforces why I don't use my Leatherman anymore. I have three Leatherman's and have not used any of them in the past two years. I use my Leatherman extension with my Wiha bits, in my bike kit, otherwise nada.
Thanks for watching!
I came up with quite similar setup: Proxxon 23783 2-in-1 bit and socket extension (711l have almost identical product, but it's much pricier to ship it to Poland, where I live) and Cal-Van Tools 108 finger ratchet.
Fun fact: you can actually use Cal-Van Tools 108 ratchet with Powerpint (and probably other SOG multitools with similar bit adapters), even without any extension.
Very cool! I'll have to check that out!
Good morning. I think i will be looking into this just to keep with my tools in truck. Wondering what is on the end of your leatherman and what you use it for and or what it can be used for? Thank you for the video. Have a good day
That is a hammer option for the skeletool. You can also get ones with built in ratchets but that runs you almost as much as the whole price of the skeletool!
Amazing video mate
Thanks!
Hey just a heads up as of 10 pm est 6/29/24 the Gerber Suspension NXT is marked down on Amazon to $25 with a 10% coupon bringing it to just under $20. I was going to email you but you don't have an email address listed so I threw it in the comments.
Great, thanks!
The buffalo ratchet adapter is sold out 😢😢😢
That's unfortunate!
It is far too inconvenient to try and use a ratchet in this way, you can't even get much torque out of it due to the clumsy way of holding it. It is far easier to simply have a small ratchet with normal extension(s) and whatever sockets or socket to screwdriver adaptors you need. 1/4 drive tools take up hardly any space & weigh very little either and I wouldn't be surprised if this is why Leatherman don't make any effort to sell their versions anymore.
That's so much bulkier though. The appeal of the Leatherman one is that its so small. But I like the video though!
True!
@hvacbudget8600 To me, the whole point of pocket tools, is as much genuine functionality packed into as small a package as possible. All the add-ons start to negate that
@@aaaatttt101 Right, especially if they do not collapse into the multitool. However, this solution sort of gets a pass since you likely could fit it into a multitool pouch/holder. Multitools are already awkward to operate as a screwdriver, so anything that extends the driver is a net benefit IMHO.
Clever!
Did leatherman discontinue the ratchet driver? Or creating a monopoly?
I don't think so. It seems the ratchet is made overseas. Some say covid has still affected steel and manufacturing even to this day, so that the ratchet is only shipped to Leatherman in limited numbers.
I think this is just a little toy. Does anyone actually use it seriously not for novelty?
And there sold out on Amazon what's other options
