Awesome info on some possible failure modes of these safe locks.. Kind of stuff I wish I knew when I first got interested in this stuff.. Thanks for sharing !
Call video Jeff and I completely understand about giving out the trade secrets I think so much of that has been happening over the years that sometimes I wonder how we have any security at all I have a good story for you one of these days.
My 6730 failed after 1 1/2 years. Took 40+ try's before I got it to unlock. I replaced the lock body, and decided to up things to a Group 2M 6630. Haven't disassembled the 6730 yet to see what's up. But I could tell things weren't good as I couldn't feel the 2 wheel pickup when I dialed the combo.
So.... I'm in Fl. And I was wondering???? LoL Man I get calls like that on a daily even locally and ppl don't get it sometimes I'm hand on a job and your asking me questions ont DIY fixes. There's no other way to say it. I work for a living I can't help w/out seeing it (yes that's a service call¡). Anyway great info, I'm not in the mood to drill so I'm trying to get some thoughts together on a combo not working. Cool vid.
Great info, and anybody can drill a hole, but the secret is in the details, where, what dia, how deep? If you screw that up it can make the job way harder for the PRO and cost you way more!!! in the opening and the repair. (It also helps to have the correct tools for the job). My only combo problem is an old brass body Master padlock, all the tricks don't work, but I have a serial number, locks not worth it, but I don't want to damage it to get numbers, so I'd give 5 bucks to get it, if anybody can help!!! , got it !! no more help needed!!!
@@hkssystemslocksafe2486 , sorry I must have missed that, I'll go back and find it, and ya that hard plate is there for a reason and why it's called Hard YES, Perfect , if your PayPal infos still good I can send you the 5.00
Well, it depends upon your frame of reference... For Texans, that's practically next door... Probably like living in Houston and they recommending a shop in El Paso... ;)
Mine stopped working,...done. Liberty sent me a new one. I put it on and it don't work,...well it would open on 41 and you couldn't change the combination because the key wouldn't go in. Now I have no idea what to do?
IF it opens on 41, you just need to dial to changing index line NOT opening index key should go in at that point. MAKE SURE you have the correct key. They come from the factory set at 50 not sure why yours is 41?
Lock had stuck or sticking fly(s) caused inconsistent dialing finally stopped opening with numbers due to number drift, I was able to dial it open after a few minutes of trying, NO DRILLING always a good day!

FyI..I answered your questions on my last video. Even if I gave you measurements that hard plate stops 99% of the DIY crowd..lol

Is there a video or schematic on how to reassemble the lever spring ?
Wish you'd showed how to remove the wheels.
once the clip is removed they just lift off? you may want to watch the DEEP dive video=ua-cam.com/video/SIkGEqxwf_0/v-deo.htmlsi=7StSM2Qc9_gTHcVG

What was wrong with the lock?

What do you recommend for dial drift? How far does the numbers go up or down?
Depends on group,# No more than 1 one number hi or low typically
