Listening to this really felt like coming home, in a nostalgic way. I really liked your music a few years ago, and then I started to listen to other stuff. I recently rediscovered your work and all my memories from the time I listened to your music just came back in a rush. Thanks for your work man, it made my day.
@@khiemcu3110 this is a mourning song. Don't take the title literally. You wanna play this song when you are letting go, it's uplifting but makes you feel solitude at the same time
Alexander Gotti I guess interpretations vary. Without considering the title, I still feel like the song gives you comfort of welcoming you back to the place you belong.
Alexander Gotti yea it’s totally cool. My first impression of this song was when I was listening to this with earphones in my small apartment, looking out the window on a quiet evening.
I listened to the original on loop when my first child was born. I have vivid memories of nursing her at 2 in the morning, letting the haunting melody play over and over and over to cover the pain. She turns 7 this month, and I've just discovered this arrangement, which is just unspeakably perfect - and it will still always remind me of those first few months, sitting on the couch in the wee hours of the morning with my baby girl, heart aching with more love than I had ever known I could hold.
As a mum of four, of which 3 are girls I totally get your comment, I have similar memories of nursing my youngest in the small hours, those hours were ours and I’ll never forget them. She’s 12 now. What you said made me cry
For anyone who knows what I’m talking about, I was reading passerine and this song came right when Philza was talking to Tommy in the illusion made by the Green god, I never cried so much in my entire life
Releasing this song again brings me back so much nostalgia from the time I discovered Radical Face about 8 years ago (through this song). And what a arrangement! What a cinematic! There's no other word to describe my feelings listening to this than ineffable. Thanks for this masterpiece Mr. Cooper!
My daughter walked down the aisle into the arms of the love of her life to this song. I am listening to it right now and crying tears of such gratitude and love. I am grateful beyond words...
I feel like you can just tell this artist has something very special to share. Something people need to hear. Ben, I’m sure you’ll never read this, but keep up the good work.
This just fuels my desire to live traveling. Just like in "Ghost Towns": I've got no need for open roads, 'Cause I own fits on my back I see the world from rusted trains And always know I won't be back Keep the amazing work, Ben Greetings from Brazil
I saw this on my feed and couldn't believe I missed it, until I saw it was posted an hour ago! I discovered you a year ago and am still falling in love with your music, seeing this made me so happy. The video makes me feel... something, the wet snowfall and foggy days and green grass I've passed through and felt happy. And so many other things. I'm so happy there will be an anniversary edition. I'm so happy I got to see this so soon. This is so exciting! Also I finished the video as I was typing this and the burning house... after the videos of so much travel, it has such symbolism and I'm not sure how to express it? I've always loved the interim of travel, but I feel trapped by where I am, and this song and this video is called Welcome Home but it's not about going back to where you were it's about coming back to someone who loves you after you've been gone, because home is where the heart is not about the material it's built with and sometimes you have to find your heart on the train tracks and bus stations as you imagine what everyone else's life might be.
A few years back I was goofing around on piano and it turned into an instrumental of this song. I really liked it but always felt stuck at the bridge so I stopped playing it. Tomorrow morning I'm going to hop on a piano and try it again, but I know it will work. This interpretation has inspired me.
OMG Ben, thank you so much. Maybe this is the sound of heaven & peace, what a beautiful arrangement. Sorry for my tears! PS: I am the only one who would have loved a mix between the song and the sounds of nature?
@@misaelesquivel2022 Que lindo encontrar a un seguidor aquí! Gracias por apreciar mis videos 💓 Intentaré volver a estar activa a fin de año! (O quizás antes👀)
I think almost everybody who found this song came from Nikon's commercial. But for me was different. I was actually looking for a song, not this, a different one. I clicked and clicked every possible videos just that I could listen to the song that I was looking for when I clicked on "Welcome Home." It wasn't the song I was trying to find but, I stayed because it's just that beautiful. If you are reading this Radical Face, your songs are awesome! They often makes me feel something. I even sometimes sing along with it. And your songs are one of my favorites to listen to when I'm doing some school activities. It's relaxing. It's calm. It's really beautiful. Thank you Radical Face for making such wonderful songs.
“Ships are launching from my chest Some have names, but most do not If you find one, please Let me know what piece I've lost” [Children of Kenaz Hagar’s Jewels]
I was smiling the whole time. It’s as if I was brought into my fantasies. There’s something magical in this orchestral version that’s why I really love it.
Tear drops falling down the face always when listening... Love this Masterpiece! It brings and awakens the memory lanes of life. Truely Amazing ❤ Thank You for Making such Music! Love you Radical Face!
My mother and I both turn to Radical Face while doing art, needing a smile, inspiration, etc. The day I found this song, we both agreed there is something truly divine about it. There is something incredibly special about Radical Face in general. This song, though... dang.
Hell ... it made me cry! Some veterans here feel nostalgic, right? And of course, if this is masterful, a work of art that cannot be compared with anything. Congratulations and thanks Radical Face, for your songs as they are part of my life and that of many here. Believe me, I'm crying
who made the video and synchronized the music is a genius .. in fact it's EPIC ... thank you Radical Face - There is nothing accidental. Thank you again.
I was texting a friend about something deep and tearing up and didnt even realize this was playing until I looked up and then I read it and was like omg I needed this so bad. radical Face is an inspiration to me.
And here I thought I couldn’t love this song any more than I already did. Absolutely fantastic. I had chills the entire time!
Right on man😎
Me too. I'm loving this a lot.

"welcome home, son" is my favourite song, and this is so beautiful it made me cry.
Yeah...but why is that the title on vids say Welcome Home without 'son'?
Without this lil word the home is not home enough and the welcome is cold.
Me too
The title paired with the music makes the whole song feel so warm and loving

As a violinist, this just hits differently.
somehow the orchestral version makes the song even sadder yet made it even more beautiful
Such a beautiful arrangement. And i love the cinematography of the video!
For anyone who knows what I’m talking about, I was reading passerine and this song came right when Philza was talking to Tommy in the illusion made by the Green god, I never cried so much in my entire life
As Shakespeare would have probably worded it, that was good.
