How can a human being put together so much emotions in less than 5 minutes.. Ben Cooper, you deserve at least a 100 grammies in a row for the work you do. We LOVE you
There are so many bullshit floating in the internet and so many idiots looking at them while real art remains in the deep. But sometimes we can reach it
I was talking to my best friend about this song the other day and she said that it would make a great book. I agree with her 100%. I'd read it constantly if you did make it a book. In fact, most of your songs from the Family Tree albums would make fantastic novels. Love your music so much!
I've been obsessed with this song since last week, and only yesterday did my pet cat sadly pass away... I wish I could do what the girl could, but know I'll have to learn move forward. You might think that he was just an animal, but pets are more than that.
A couple years ago, when going back after having been to Poland visiting different important places of the Holocaust as part of a school project about it I listened to 'Kin' and realised how well you could use that song, and a lot of other songs, to understand different situations people you don't even know have been going through. Jewish people don't really hear the dead, but it was still eerily applicable to what families were going through in the ghettos at the time. I played it to my teacher, just said "you've gotta listen to this" and she cried. I love how all Ben's songs carry a lot of different meanings, and there is always a way you can relate to the lyrics of any song.
"Secrets (Cellar Door)" Drawn into the frost on the glass was a map pointing to my secret hiding place It led you to the tree with the split in its trunk on the way into your family's yard In that tree you saw I brought the dog back to life I watch you from the branches while you stared from the ground with a look I couldn't understand So I said "leave me alone, if your only words are ugly ones" And you just smiled and said "come and show me how it's done" You dug up your old bird, and you held her to your chest as I breathed life back into her lungs And she blinked and flapped her wings, and she sang a familiar song Before she took to the air and cut a path into the woods And then I cried, because all my life I have known something was off But you just shrugged and said: "it ain't just you" Slipping on the pavement where we ran from the ghosts that you saw behind the cellar door That's the way that you showed me that I wasn't quite alone That you'd also touched the dead before
YOU ARE INDESCRIVABLE.. YOU ARE MYSELF... IN YOU I SEE MY SELF.. IN YOUR FACE, IN YOUR MUSIC , IN YOUR GUITAR , IN THESE CHILDREN , IN THESE NOTES , IN THIS DRUM , IN THESE WORDS , IN THI SONG , I'M WITH YOU , AND YOU ARE WITH ME.. I HOPE SO MUCH TO BECOME WHAT I WANNA BE.. THANK YOU SO MUCH.. YOU ARE GIVING ME THE STRENGHT.. THANK YOU BROTHER !!!!!!
I absolutely love this music this is my favorite band I love how each song tells a story which is such an admirable trait in music, considering that a lot of music now a days is meaningless. Each song has the potential to be relatable to everyone and it makes these songs so much more beautiful as someone who is going through grief and depression this song is truly heartwarming. I honestly listen to radical face everyday and it just feels like I'm listening to a story
Radical Face made a series of albums called "The Family Tree" which tells a story. On Ben's website, he has an interactive map which kind of explains the story of family. thefamilytree.radicalface.com.s163458.gridserver.com/ I really recommend checking it out. Its beautiful!
Ben, you're doing a marvelous job of story-telling through music! Listening to your music is like no other feeling, and I am so happy that you have come through and are finishing this wonderful project! Sometimes, I like to imagine small segments of my life, like where I was when I first heard your music, how I felt the day when The Branches came out, etc. I feel like I have somehow vicariously followed you on this journey, purely because I have lived through my version of reality that somehow connected to yours purely by me listening to your music. One of magical aspects of sharing creative work I suppose. Although I will never let go of the time I missed a show of yours when you were only an hour away, I wish you the best on your tour and all your upcoming projects, whatever they may be! Good luck and just keep doing you!
Found this song because of one legend, one that was never destined to soar in the clouds, never ever was he meant to fly and be a pilot, but guess what, he stared right in the face of the gods and broadly rejected destiny...thus, he flew,he flew very high, and performed stunts any pilot can only dream of.... indeed, he will be remembered. RIP SKY KING. For the next generations to ever walk on this planet, I write this to you, I existed once, and iam proud my time had brave souls, souls that chased their dreams even to the last second, till the last breath. Please, remember me, but of all, remember the 'sky king'.
So happy I discovered you music. What do you know - I don't need to be stuck in the 80's if I want to listen to something meaningful and beautiful. Buying all your records. Keep on playing please!
I haven't been this excited for quite some time about a new musical group I've stumbled upon. "Magical" comes to mind when I listen to your songs. I'll definitely be sharing!
My friend really likes your music, she sent me this song about a month ago. Now I also really like your music, it is beautiful and hits me in the feelings every time ;)
This song is like innocence to me. My childhood had dogs/birds/ghosts, the relationship I had with my biological mother (me having the role of the girl in the video) was very dysfunctional, but every time I listen, it makes it feel like it all meant something, like it used to before i understood it was all wrong
I aways get so inspired after listening to your songs, and tell myself I'm gonna write a song as beautiful as this. I've written only one song in 2 months. But hey! It's a start!
Huh. The video took a bit of a departure from the lyrics at the end there. Why haven't I seen this before? Been listening to Radical Face for years now. Come to Seattle again, Ben!

Dang everything about this song and the other songs that you write is just perfect. The lyrics, the music, the story... ahohaeijfaoheof;ijawofiwa I've been listening to you since I was a little kid, and it's something I can share with my dad. THANKK YOUUU

This song literally gives me chills. Why have I never heard of this band before?? They are so good.
Yes! I only discovered radical face a few months ago but I have to agree, these songs are so calming and beautiful..

I wanna make a short story about what I see here, but I don't want to steal his ideas
They were going to be that, but the computer he was writing it on crashed and he didn't have a backup, so we got these wonderful albums instead :)
@@FranciscoJxL wait, what??? For real??? Tell me more!!!!
@@aliatbest About what happened or about the story?
@@FranciscoJxL I'll take any knowledge you have, I just discovered Radical Face and need to know everything lol

Love the Cello and guitar in this one. One of my new favorites. Ben Cooper's music is one of the reasons to keep existing. Thanks for that.
Imagine a world where you could bring something back to life because you loved it so much.

Good song 👍
He should make a movie about special children and call it "The Indigo". That would be pretty cool
the choral section sounds a lot like the opening to Tall Tale No. 5 from the Patients side project. wonder if its actually related lol
