Just wow! Just getting back into flight sims after more than a decade. Flying X Plane 12. Love your cockpit setup. Would love to build the same! Subscribed!
Hi Zane, good question. The list always grows as things change with software etc. For example my weather radar panel on the pedestal is fully wired up and could be function except at the moment there is no software support for it. I just got working the dimmer controls for the main instrument displays with the development of some code, the TCAS and GPWS test now also work. One thing I am working on is making it easier I make these videos with things like permanent mounts for lights and cameras to make setup easier. Also being able to balance light and color between the cockpit and the external displays. At some point I may go to even bigger external display which are currently 70”, but 85” would give even more coverage. I also just ordered one nVidia GTX 2080 to graphics card to replace the center display/master computer GTX 1080ti card to see if I notice a difference and if I do I will replace the other 1080ti. Also later this year I will probably upgrade the CPU’s and motherboards. As an experiment I will be adding a buttshaker to the cpt seat to see if it adds to immersion. In particular things like bumps on the ground, gear retract and extends are the things I would like to feel as well as hear. I will also evaluate MS2020 for potential in my setup, but I think it will be a lot later before that becomes (if ever) a viable alternative. I am sure there will be other things as I come up with ideas
@@TemporarilyGrounded Thanks for your answer. Allow me another question. Since I mainly fly virtual military aircraft I'm not that familiar with the different variants on the civil side. What made you choose for the 737-800 specifically? Is it because it's the most used variant of all Boeings or because it's more difficult to source parts for the other models?
Well you can change the angle for the slaves in XP so the greater angle should not matter. For me the issue was that I needed the displays to fill the nose cockpit windows so that you could not see around them and destroy the illusion. I made the mistake when I started of buying 55” displays which were too small. I went to 70” and by re-engineering the stands to get the displays nearer to the cockpit windows (that’s why 4k was necessary) I managed to stop being able to see around them into the room, but it is close. I should also mention that two of the 55” displays I physically turned into portrait orientation and are on the far left and right to feel my peripheral vision. I may at some point go to 85”. As for OLED, yes I agree.
Amazing cockpit ! I have one question because I am building a 737 homecockpit and I can't have the Afds announciators working so I would like to know what software you use for leds output. Thanks

The airport scenery was by Drzewiecki Design and the Washington state scenery was Orbx True Earth Washington HD. I don’t remember where I picked up 24%, but I will start using 25% N2 for fuel introduction - thanks.
Yes Vulcan is great. There are still a few bugs with scenery textures being slow to load or not loading, but that will get sorted as we progress through the beta process.
I've an FDS setup, close ti identical to yours. I use (5) 60" TVs aligned with WideView. Yours? And how'd you create the back lighting? My cockpit's so dark!
Hi Douglas. I use X-Plane these days, much better in my opinion. The lighting for the videos is with 2 LED photo lights. In non Video flights I don’t use them.
The black vertical bars of the monitor. You should paint them in a sky/cloud colours so they blend better. Also, your turn after take off was not coordinated.
You don’t notice the borders of the monitors when flying. Not sure what you mean about the turns not being coordinated. The rudder pedals are not used during normal flight on these type of aircraft.
Correct in that is the case in GA aircraft. However, in the 737 you turn on the yaw damper before take off and it handles coordinating turns. The only time you need to use the rudder is on approach in crosswinds With a Y/D system the only time a pilot really needs to make a rudder input in flight is if an engine quits, because the yaw damper's authority is not sufficient to counter asymmetric thrust. Generally in a jet, once through the departure profile, feet are on the floor even when hand flying. They are only on the pedals to steer the nosewheel during the takeoff and be ready in case an engine quits.
@@TemporarilyGrounded If that were true, then the plane would've been coordinated during your first turn which it wasn't; which is why I made my original statement. You can see clearly the tail falling to the inside of the turn.
The parts are from FlightDeck Solutions. The hardware is interfaced using FDS system cards. In P3D i would use Sim-Avionics software for the avionics and FSUIPC. In my case now with X-Plane I use the Zibo mod 737, FDSTOXP and ZHSI plug-ins instead of Sim-Avionics and FSUIPC

I will have to check, but the iplug-in (FDStoXP) handles the interfacing of my hardware to XP through LUA scripts. The recall putting is probably using a DataRef.
