Think I’m gonna get the VXR this weekend. Currently have Halon32 5 and it’s awesome. I know I’m gonna regret trading it in which is why I’ve hesitated for this long. Went to shop again last week and shot the VXR again, and RX5. RX5 is freakin amazing when you’re actually looking at with your own eyes. But I can’t justify that price tag. Anyways I’ve had my heart set on the VXR since it was released. And I’m getting it. Then I’m gonna get a YZ250 cuz I’ve been without that for two years and it’s way too long for me.

I’ve been shooting bows for almost 50 years. Any salesman who would talk a beginning archer into buying .001” tolerance arrows is just gouging for profit. 99% of people shooting compound bows could NEVER see a difference in accuracy between these and .006” straightness arrows which are significantly less money. I will say that a lot of his advice here is good however. I wish I could have seen where Nicks nock valley was relative to the corner of his mouth at full draw. I assume this tech did it right, but I’ve seen guys sell newbies bows that were WAY OFF just to make a sale.

Rob, can't speak for Mr RX Angler (maybe he can fill us in on his experience) but I do know all the guys down there at Texas Archery and have for the last 4 years. Been in the shop many times and shot the 3D shoot there many times. In my experience, they will sell you what you are looking for and give you options. Just bought the V3 about 4 weeks ago from them. They could have sold RX Angler a Mission Craze with .006 arrows but I would guarantee you his beginner archery experience would not have been as uplifting as it is with top of the line tackle. I would think that Raymond gave RX Angler options and made suggestions and that's the direction RX Angler went with based on what he wanted and could afford. Besides, that, he has over 25k subscribers and being that I have about 2.5K subscribers and I made enough money on my channel to pay for my new V3 bow in a years time, I would guess it took him about 2 weeks for his channel to pay for his bow and his entire set-up. All the best.

My asian brother from another mother. Here is a recommendation for you to help you out.
    1) Install a kisser button so you have definite anchor point until you’re a bit more seasoned.
    2) Your left grip hand - relax it more and make sure it settles in the same spot all the time you (same thing as your right hand anchor point.
    3) Your peep sight - get the closest size so it almost the same size as your sight window at full draw. Imagine 2 circles that pretty much overlaps or at close as possible. (Stop closing one eye when shooting - leave both eyes open) There are also lenses on peeps to help clarify your shot.
    4) Start practicing more with back tension to fire your shot, instead of using your fingers & hand.
Archery is all about form and that also includes your eyes as well. Enjoy and let her fly!

Speed is over rated. I just went from a 475gr arrow 12% FOC with a mechanical and never got the consistent results. Had better with fixed. Best so far was with the Magnus Stinger. Last season practically bounced the arrow off a buck never found him or the arrow. Made me sick to my stomach. So I had shoulder surgery in Nov 2020 so didn’t get to hunt the rest of the season. The down time helped me in more ways than one. I was able to run into the Ranch Fairy on UA-cam and point me in the right direction and research more on the history of archery.
My new setup is Victory VAP SS Elite 300spine .166 diameter. With Ethics insert outserts and a 125gr Cuthroat single bevel. Total arrow weight is 567gr. 20%FOC. My bow is the Mathews V3 31 55# dw, 28.5dl. It is shooting bullets. 99% of my shots are within 30yds. Also the heavier arrow will quiet your bow down.
I want to make sure I can do the animal justice put him out of their misery as quick as possible.
Watch the Ranch Fairy and anything Dr. Ashby. Very informative.

Right now I have the victory rip tkos with an annihilator 100g head and ethics archery spinning insert at 65.1g. Also, I am shooting AAE stealth max vanes with the right helical from Arizona ez fletch mini max. I have shot all different types of vane degree as well as different vanes from other companies. But for me, more spin was better for grouping out to 100yds with the V3 27. I also cut my arrows just past my hamskea rest about a half inch.
