Hey, i recently got intern in warehouse factory. And they need some barcode scan and they used ms.access to input their data. I just wanna let u know, u have a great tutorial Helping me in my job. Thanks !! and Cheers!! hope to see ur next video.
Thank you Sir... I was lost cuz I generated and printed my barcodes but I couldn't scan them... Because of your video now I know that I didn't put the '' *".. Thak you again
Great video! Your video's have helped me make my companies database about 10 times as efficient. One question about barcodes. I send out flyers to customers and they send them back to indicating what they would like to purchase. I could put barcodes on the flyers just fine if I printed them in-house but I have another company print and mail them. I only supply my mailer with the names and addresses of my customers. How would you go about getting a barcode on the flyer? Would it be up to the mailer to generate the font? Thanks again! Your video's are very much appriciated!
I created a table to contain values 1-20, 30, 100, 1000 for example, and there is a report that displays these numbers as barcodes. It makes it easy to scan parts and amount received. However values 1-9 don't seem to scan in, but any amounts 10 and above do scan in correctly. I've also tried to change the type from number to short text with same results. Is there a way to get barcodes for 1-9 to scan in successfully? I'd really appreciate your opinion, and creativity :). Thanks
The user specifically asked for UPC barcodes, so you probably should use UPC-A symbology instead of Code 39. UPC-A does not use asterisks as the start-stop characters, but a much more complicated series of characters. So it may be better to use a dedicated barcode software that can format the right symbology for you (which Access can't do natively), since there are a ton of different symbologies. Shipping labels also use a different symbology called Code 128. A typical merchant uses UPC-A and Code 128 formats the most. These formats are required by the industry when you sell and ship items, so you can't just use Code 39 for them.
No, the user specifically stated that they DON'T have UPC codes for their products. They just wanted something IN-HOUSE that they could slap barcode labels on and use for their own purposes. Code39 works just fine. I used it myself for many years and I've recommended it as a solution very successfully for many of my clients. As far as SCANNING barcodes goes, that's easy and is the topic of my other video. 599cd.com/Barcode.
@@599CD Thanks for clarifying. I completely misread his question: I thought he needed UPCs because he said he didn't have them. Also want to add that there is also the Code 39 Full ASCII symbology that allows more characters, such as backslash.
Oh sure, there's tons of options. I tend to teach what I know. I know it's older, but I used Code39 in my PC hardware business back in the 90s and it works great. Nice and simple to implement. The font is FREE. Can't beat it if you're just looking for something simple to use in house. Are there better solutions out there? Absolutely. Is this quick, simple, and free? Yep! Winning. :) LOL
Hello sir i saw a pos video in access he made a textbox of quantity of barcode print. Means he can print one product barcodes hiw much quantity he want on one report. How he do that?
Sir, i showed and download your ms acces tutorials but i can't understand the dlookup function . So, do one video that for how use dlookup function in query without combo box, vba and with example tables
I am really a newbie to this and am confused. I am a beekeeper and am sell my honey products to the grocery stores in the area. Of course they all want barcode labels on the bottles. Honey is honey but the bottles are different size and price. I have blank labels, a PC, and a printer. How do I get started?
I'm having an issue at work. I'm needing to print off labels that have barcodes on them and I'm following all of the step listed here. I have the 3 of 9 downloaded onto my computer and in the design page, I changed the font. However, when I go to print, what is actually printed is something like * 123456789 * rather than an actual barcode. The print preview screen will show an actual barcode, but it doesn't actually print the barcode. Any suggestion of how I might get around this?
I've never seen that before. So you're saying the PREVIEW shows the barcode, but when you actually PRINT it to paper, it shows *123123123*? That's weird. Any weird problems, run down this: 599cd.com/Trouble
@@599CD Hey, thanks for responding. I ended up figuring out the issue. It was due to not having all of the recent drivers updated. Got it updated and was able to print. Access ended up not being what I used as I needed to only print off specific labels rather than print off a whole database of them. Thanks!
Hi. I tried creating barcodes as per your instructions above and the barcode shows, but after i add ="*" &[xxxxx] &"*", error occurs instead of a scannable barcode. Please advise whats mistake am i doing

With your guide … you youtube is very helpful) so my clinic register, ID card no. And generate OPD No as YY-“HN”-MMXXXX which XXXX is 4 digit AUTONUMBER, and i use my bill orde number as AUTONUMBER… the problem is when i try to edit or input any information in any part of the form (which have the event > refresh to dlook some info such as Country code) the form is update and the AUTONUM is running… which if i close it the RUNNING will skip… as the Billing order… the Running is skipped also…. Do you have any trick to make the record not store any data until i accept or hit ok. Now i using the cancel with the tick box not save + event delete record to delete the unused record before close it… and yes the bill order keep running and the delete record make it running skipped…. Yep. They'd need to generate it. Have them watch the video. Or... can't you just send them a PDF of the whole flier and have them print it?

Autonumbers are not FOR YOU. They're for Access internally. YOU shouldn't care what they are. 599cd.com/Autonumbers
