Thanks Kevin! Always great learning from you and your clear and perceptive delivery! I am trying to create DYNAMIC QR codes without having to be extorted by the QR code companies. Do you have a tutorial on how to do that? I really appreciate it!
Please sir, answer this question: Is it still worth it to learn web development (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) in this age of AI, or what would be your advice to someone who wants to make a career in the tech industry?
I would not use AI until you learn the language yourself. You won't learn anything and most likely the AI code will not work as expected. I've been a software engineer for 20 years. AI is a nice tool if you already know the language to get a baseline. I had an C# application when ChatGPT came out and one method had really intensive calculations. So I had ChatGPT spit out the code of that method. It worked. Put both on a benchmark and my manually written code was faster and used less memory than the AI generated. If you don't know coding and depend on AI you will get bit in the ass.
If you ever plan to expand your business or plan to sell your products in other stores, you might want to read on how Upc barcode numbers are asigned so you don't run into issues in the future
Hey man, I've really been enjoying your tutorials! They're clear, concise, and very helpful. I was wondering if you might consider creating a video on how to extract data from complex PDFs. I know you already have some videos on PDF data extraction, but if you're comfortable tackling a more intricate example, I think it would be fantastic to see your process in action.
I would love a follow up video showing how to use the barcodes after they’ve been generated. Specifically, a fun idea I had was to generate a QR code for a yard sale sign with a date and time… silly, I know lol. But the end user needs a way to retrieve the information. You can type in a physical address that can be opened up in your favorite maps app, but it won’t include additional information like the nature of the event. Does this have to connect to a paid service or URL with the info? Or could you have your own mini home server or database that you could use for keeping track of what you’ve stored in boxes etc? There are a lot of cool possibilities.
Kevin when using the api, does the UPC have to be a valid code for it to work or will it generate any code you give it? In addition, will it also provide any names of the associated products if they need to be pre-existing UPC codes?
There are certain rules for barcode types (eg upc needs to be 12 digits long and include a check digit at the end). If you specify upc but provide more digits, you’ll get an error. There’s no lookup function for existing products.
This tip saved me a lot of headaches. Thank you! Is there a way to print the barcode without the text underneath it? Do you have a video showing how to create a form in excel that can be printed as a label?
Would you be able to append a quantity to the code as well? For instance, you have an order for 5 cookies and type that in a quantity column, so when you create a barcode for the cookies, it would automatically scan that you need to charge for 5 cookies?
Hi! Thank you for all the video's, they help a lot! I downloaded your workbook and did the exact steps you did, but in the colum of the barcode I get the message 'blocked'.. do you know why I''m getting this error code? I can't figure it out..
Thank you Kevin, another great learning video 😅 as you mention it could be great, if you could make a video that can show how your Kevin Cookies company make a store with an inventory of your cookies and scan each products Barcode and count down the selling items from your store inventory . Thank you :-) :-)
I guess I didn't understand. Now that I have made those barcodes, I want to stick them on my moving boxes, and type into my excel table what I place in each box. I can't figure out how I then scan the barcode (I want to do that with my phone)
Kevin, while I do understand that you and others are visual only people, there are many people who do need something like alternative text (alt text) so it would be great if you hadn’t just glazed over that field as being optional without even calling it out. You have a platform here that could help those learning how to do these tasks to be more mindful of others needs. I’m not saying you have to do a lesson on alt text, but it would’ve been great if you had at least acknowledged its existence.
What data does the barcode site actually obtain? It seems like they would certainly get the code (numbers) and they would know your IP address. However, unless they gain access to the spreadsheet itself, it does not seem like a security or privacy risk.
A little information on barcodes upc 0 Number system number 1 2 3 Company/Manufacture # 4 5 6 7 8 Item number 9 0 5 Check digit The company number(6-9 long) and item number can overlap (1-5 long). Also, the number system number is also considered the company number I kinda infuriates me the all you upc have different company numbers when this example is one company, but I know it's an example
Hello Kevin, thank you for your great tip and trick but please speak a little bit slower. You are too fast for people don't use to speak English everyday like you 🙂

What a good and educational video, but do I need an Office key to better optimize my Excel?
It's the best you can do but better performance
and where can I find it where it is safe and effective
You can check several places but I got it from BNH Software if you want something specific
I know there are several but I wanted to know about one in particular to start with. Thanks.
Finally Kevin came back in his original form
Nice
yes
OMG I'm doing your course at Udemy due to my work trained and can't believe you're at UA-cam! You are such a great instructor!

Once again Kevin, you've done it, this will be helpful soon for our small business. Thanks again, Kevin. Keep up the wonderful work.
Glad it was helpful!

Kevin, you saved my day with this tutorial! Thank you and more power to you :)
Hi Kevin, thank you 🙏🏿 so much for this tutorial. May I ask, can this technique be adapted for use with Google sheets? Thanks in advance.
Great and easy solution in Excel. I tried on MS Access reports but didn't find a way to make it work yet. Hopefully it works there too!

Thanks Kevin for this tutorial, very helpful. Quick question, how can I get a UPC code?
This is fantastic information, and you did an outstanding job teaching it!
Would you be able to append a quantity to the code as well? For instance, you have an order for 5 cookies and type that in a quantity column, so when you create a barcode for the cookies, it would automatically scan that you need to charge for 5 cookies?
I am actually mind blown ! Wow
Hey Kevin, what version of Excel did you use in this video and in all your videos?
I needed to learn this. THANK YOU!!
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent and easy to learn
Hi Kevin I love to learn from you, thank you.
Can you make a tutorial on creating a payroll with some skills and shortcuts, and how to pay staff?
Nice one. What of barcoding in Microsoft word and PowerPoint?
THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS VIDEO IS SO MUCH HELPFUL FOR ME TO SOLVE OUR SOLUTION AND PROBLEMS
A lot of good tips here, many thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello Kevin. Thank you for your tricks but I do not have IMAGE on the Dialogue box, how to bring it, please advice
Hi! Thank you for all the video's, they help a lot!
I downloaded your workbook and did the exact steps you did, but in the colum of the barcode I get the message 'blocked'.. do you know why I''m getting this error code? I can't figure it out..
I am receiving the same message.
Great tool, I learned something new today. Thanks :)
Thank you Kevin, another great learning video 😅 as you mention it could be great, if you could make a video that can show how your Kevin Cookies company make a store with an inventory of your cookies and scan each products Barcode and count down the selling items from your store inventory . Instead of the barcode, Excel posts the word "Blocked" in the cells. What's going on?
Great video! Kevin congrats 🎉
Awesome video Kevin, thank you!
Outstanding video, Kevin!
Interesting, not easy but a great function to be used in many situations 👌
Is there an app which will be able to decipher barcodes?
Thanks for updated us ❤
I guess I didn't understand. Now that I have made those barcodes, I want to stick them on my moving boxes, and type into my excel table what I place in each box. I can't figure out how I then scan the barcode (I want to do that with my phone)
Cool feature, thanks Kevin for the video.
Any time!
Hi Kevin. When I write January 2023 in a cell like in your and when I hover down. Months are changed but in my case years are changed
Does this work for google sheets?
I need a QR for a series of numbers row. How to do?
Great stuff, Kevin
Where do you get the URL from if I'm putting in a ISBN number?
Wow! Great tip Kevin! Thank you!
Would it generate the barcode for 4131 active inventory number?? Happy barcoding 😁
Give it a shot 😉
Your The best ever

Miss your videos, I look at them even if am not interested in what you are teaching 😂.
Awesome kevin
Love it! Thanks!
How to scan these QR codes for taking an event attendance on a google sheet?
you can direct them to a form to submit their name or less reliable method will be to check no of visits to the qr code url.
@@smarthelpguides B
I clicked the URL in the description and I got an error page.
In order for the URL API to function, it needs to have the barcode number appended to it in the manner Kevin demonstrates in the video.
Awesome Kevin!
Thanks

Fair point! Thanks for calling that out!
Hi, is it possible to set the size also?
Yes! Simply adjust the cell size and that’ll in turn affect the barcode size.
Came for the Cuisinart break maker review, stayed for the Excel barcode generation guide
Great thanks
No worries!
If this video goes viral, my comment is gonna go viral
Thank you
Splendid...!
That's so great!
Nice boss
I would not use „free“ online tool … you never know what they are doing with that data.
What data does the barcode site actually obtain? It seems like they would certainly get the code (numbers) and they would know your IP address. However, unless they gain access to the spreadsheet itself, it does not seem like a security or privacy risk.
I will do it.

Hai Kevin ...I need demo on geocode

Nice.....👍👍👍
give me a video of how to use Google vids🙏
Create Barcode in Free like Subscribes 👍 thank you
I have yet to find a barcode font that doesn't require purchasing. Google is crap. Just an advertising platform. Nothing else.
And I can say that this was zero help as well. Everything is being guarded by gate keepers and requires purchases.
Create a video on click item picture add value or price to total

Hi
Please help me
For god's sake, just install a free barcode font and use it.
Just be thankful
This is much easier
