  • You may have heard the terms shrinkflation and skimpflation in the news. These are two sneaky ways companies try to cut costs. And it might be the reason you’ve been finding less and less candy in packages.
    CBC Kids News contributor Aubrie Chan spoke to Sylvain Charlebois, a food researcher and professor at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to help explain what shrinkflation and skimpflation mean.
    In the video, we use an example of Quaker Chewy Dipps Granola Bars, which has different ingredients than it used to. CBC Kids News reached out to Quaker for comment, but didn’t hear back.
