- Bravo! The Don of Food Tube is back with a glorious fresh fish soup recipe direct from his hometown on the Amalfi Coast of Italy. Gennaro is cooking outside in the fresh air with some incredible fish but you can try this at home with whatever fish you fancy.

This is rustic and haute cuisine at the same time. And the wood fire oven makes all the difference. Gennaro you are the best!

Those tomatoes were beautiful, they caught my eye right at the start of the video! Ugh, brothy, spicy, tomato based seafood soup is just one of those foods that once you eat, you never forget.

Had five with Mr Falbo, but he was in the Mafioso, soooo needless to say we split 25 years ago!! I'm a terrific cook and I love making homemade pasta and have a pasta queen attached to my island, I never take it off!! A great, colourful recipe ! But please get rid of the sub-titles, as they block the cooking action, and are not needed. We can understand Gennaro perfectly without them.

No smell??!?!? You should try smelling Romanian tomatoes grown near Danube river, Ostroveni Dolj County. It is really incredible how they smell and the taste is really really good, the arome, mmmmmmm. I consider them real tomatoes, everything else on the market i've eaten so far simply have no aroma, no to little taste, no smell.
Excellent soup, I learned it on my Erasmus stay in Rome Im 2012. Now is every year Chrismas tradition :)

Im always interested that Gennaro always uses japanese made knives. In this video he is using a nakiri-bocho(vegetable knife)

Iam surprised that he was able to get monkfish with the head still on cuz normally its sold without the head and is like super rare to get with head on unless u catch it urself or buy it from a small trusted fishmonger. I guess in amalfi coast there r small fishmongers who sell in less quantity and catch by themselves

why somebody young or female doesn't get to eat that much protein. kids have to grow and women bleed every month. I don't even get to eat that much nice quality ingredients and that amount of tomato and seafoods in a year! why does someone get to make this all the time? and why my mom doesn't listen about stop using soap to clean the pots because everything cook in the pot after cooking is so polluted from reside of soap and chemicals that it is so horrible to eat it. what's wrong?????????

Un piatto meravilioso. I would add a lot of vino bianco to this dish and cook perhaps for only 10 minutes instead of 20 so as not have the seafood too tough. Gennaro you are a gem.
Between the lines it's really all about sequencing, put in those things that need a lot of time at the beginning, and the fish components at the end with the tiniest bit of fish at the very end., A beautiful engaging video. Thanks for posting.
errr.... more like serves 1..... you see between kitchen and dinner table is a few meters, and between that there is ME holding the pot and.... yeah by the time it arrives on the table nothing left on the bowl.....
