Although this weekend wasn’t the most successful camping trip. I’m honestly truly grateful to have been able to get some time to take a breather, and finally get around to organizing Sage’s room 😉✨.

Is it weird that I started tearing up when you were sitting talking about how emotionally and physically draining parenting can get? My boys get so fussy around lunch/nap time and by the time I serve their food, I have no appetite. It is so hard but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Yes! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 a realistic camping trip of where sometimes things just don’t go as planned. Little humans can be so unpredictable, so good to see content where not everything is picture perfect. Good days and bad days should be normalised.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is to keep your expectations low for any outings or trips with kids. Including teenagers!
Our last camping trip with teenagers included us packing up and heading home at 2am!

Thank you so much for sharing this 🙌 Just got back from a beach vacation with my 24 month old. I had totally romanticized the vacation and it turned out my toddler was PETRIFIED of the beach. She hated the sound of the ocean and would not TOUCH the sand! All week she sat in our laps on the beach chairs and avoided anything to do with the sand 🤣 we did get some good snuggles from her being afraid but MAN that was hard and not what I expected at all. Thank you for keeping it real and letting us other mommas know we’re not alone 🥰

We went to Maui for 2 weeks with our 2.5 year old and wow some moments were hard but we got through them and even took him on the road to Hana! We truly enjoyed ourselves. Another time we went camping and had to circle the campground like total weirdos for about an hour and a half at 11 pm in order to get our kiddo asleep. Tent camping is sooo much harder than if you have an RV - so worth buying a small trailer if you are a camping family! With our second we are now seasoned and it’s always chaos but we always love it. Our 5 year old now forever adores camping - fishing with dad, collecting snails, s’mores, looking for mushrooms & learning about plants! Don’t give up!

Can relate so much to this video!! My son is 20 months old and can be the happiest little guy but also can be the most miserable little guy! Right now, he’s teething so very fussy and clingy alllll the time! So refreshing to see a video that shows the downsides of parenting. Almost all UA-cam videos only the glamours sides of life and leaving parents like me feeling like I’m totally failing at life! Haha. So thank you so much for keeping it super real!! 🥰🥰🥰

just wanted to say thank you for sharing this video with us! my baby boy is 14 months old, and I love watching your content to kind of know what to expect later on, even though each child is different… I love seeing all of the raw & real moments, even the crying/meltdowns. some days you just wonder what is wrong with my toddler and it’s so easy to get frustrated with them but at the end of the day, the might just be in pain and can’t properly express it and we simply can’t see it right away.. so it’s videos like these that make all of this feel relatable ❤️

I have twin toddlers (boys) and it's hard when naps are involved too but we've just kept it to shorter trips away for now. It is hard when they're not feeling well though so it seemed like the best option was to come home for you! You're both doing a great job!!

The next day had a 3 hour nap and slept all night with no tears!! Now all of our camping trips are smooth sailing. The first night is always a little rough but be consistent! She sleeps in a playpen in a dark trailer.

Sometimes you just have to let the kiddo have their fits at that age because they have no other way to express their emotions. What helped me a lot with my son was that I taught him basic signs for sad, mad, tired, etc. so he could tell me. Kids are able to pick that up really quickly and it empowers them to be able to talk to us that way.

We flew from BC to Ontario to visit family with my then 11 month old. People tried to warn me never to fly with a baby and how awful it would be. I’m so glad we went though! Some tough moments but all the good memories and bonding with family was well worth it. Everyone gets cranky on the plane, even adults! Babies are just more vocal about it haha

I didn't realize our daughter's were four days apart mine was due the 4th!!
I just did my first trip with her a couple weeks ago she did so well, but the first night she didn't sleep till really late and she wouldn't eat well! I think she was just scared or not use to the new environment. She finally did and the next day she napped and ate a little more. 😀

We took our oldest camping when he was maybe 2ish and while everyone had a relaxing time I was stuck chasing a toddler and it’s not fun to be in the middle of nowhere with a child that won’t nap and it’s running around crazy. He’s wasn’t upset or cranky but I can totally relate that camping with a toddler is a lot if work.

Hey! So my baby is 7 months and already has 5 teeth and we are going through this! We haven’t really been able to do much with him because he is just so out of character because he seems to be getting another tooth. It’s so hard to watch when it’s your baby and also just so hard to help them settle down. Just want to remind you that you’re a great mom and Sage is so lucky to have you. Thanks for sharing real moments ❤️❤️

I camped with both my kids since they were babies. It does get easier. Both Saje and my oldest share the same birthday, 💕

You probably already tried this but you could try "camping" in your backyard to get her use to the tent and sleeping outdoors and if it doesn't work, you're still at home.

We went on a family trip and thought it would be fun with just my husband, me and the kids. We didn’t rent cribs. Worst thing ever. Bedtime every night took hours. We were so drained we went to bed with them. It was awful! Couple months later we went on vacation with my whole family and all the kids. Best trip ever! We rented cribs for the little ones and honestly that’s the best thing to ever do!

Not sure if you give Sage teethers but that was a big help when my daughters were teething. Being a mom is hard you handled it so great! It is hard when we get so excited for them to experience stuff and they are not feeling it.

We just got back from our first camping trip with our 1 yr old! It went really well actually. He woke up once through the night but that isn't out of the ordinary and woke up at 5 every morning, also not out of the ordinary lol.

Quick edit: the most challenging part honestly was actually LEAVING the house and packing up the car 😆

We took our baby to autocamp and stayed in a bus but she was like 6 months old so better. Now I couldn’t even imagine because my baby is same like teething, big feelings, tantrums, etc
