I want to see Rumble and Frenzy in the Netflix show as well, so fans could argue which color they are.
They could even have a running joke about it to make it even worse.

I absolutely love this figure. A great homage to the g1 Soundwave. Hasbro is doing a remarkable job of giving us updates to a lot of the g1 transformers. Continue to keep the great work.
I'm ordering this one next. We really are in the best era for Transformer collecting, they look so damn good!

@DarkChroniclesXII I'm with you on this, and am a Beast Era kid. While I do find the Netflix one absolutely gorgeous and worth purchasing for just for the work and engineering, him and Megatron shrinking into immobile alt modes always struck me as silly, especially since media themselves have shied away of deliberate mass shifting.
I will admit, the ones who are definitely inferior lifeforms are the scalpers who've made this so discouraging to hunt down.
Likewise not fond of Siege's choice of design for a ship, but rather than being a straight up ship, I'm passing it off as a satellite like ROTF Soundwave that's a bit more flight capable than your average satellite, while his cassette-esque form is less of a giant one and more of a sound-based attack mode

It's true that in the very first Transformers episode, you could see that each of the Autobots and Decepticons had their robot "Earth Modes", but their vehicle forms were Cybertronian, as we saw with Wheeljack, Bumblebee, Starscream and the other Seekers. That's probably because the animators didn't want to bother (or had very little time and money) to create true Cybertronian robot modes for them, so they kept their robot forms as they will keep them when they come to Earth million of years later after scanning different Earth vehicles and accessories. That said, Soundwave here looks spectacular! They did a terrific job in making him look as close as they could possibly make him from his G1 version, really awesome!

For anyone looking in Australia for this, I picked mine up a couple of weeks ago at Kmart. They also have the blind box leader class, exclusive Ultra Magnus.

I wish Netflix can make a new dream works animated series for the transformers only with the Michael Bay movie characters that way it's both prequels and continuations . Side by side at least five seasons based on how these movies came out but this time to start out as prequels. and I made a list of major Autobots and decepticons who should exist more often

Good review! I got this Soundwave 1 month ago here in the Netherlands and it's definitely one of my favorite figures out of the Earthrise/Siege collection.

I got one of the most superior soundwave figures that I have been wanting for a while. Masterpiece soundwave and its not a KO. I love the figure and I'm waiting for the rest of the cassettes to get here

By far, one of my favorite characters and toys to ever be produced. I missed the retail release, and would love to get another one to display in his micro cassette recorder mode. I picked one off a secondary market, and had to buy the Siege version to get the weapons. Also, Soundwave wasn’t a cassette player. He was a micro cassette recorder, meant for recording voice dictation such as with a college class. I owned a micro cassette recorder, so I know this.
Now, Blaster was the cassette player without recording abilities.
I always thought of the gray gun as Megatron in a Cybertronian gun mode
Luckily I went to a Walmart for some stuff and decided to go to the toy aisle and BOOM soundwave was there and I didn’t know it arrived and I freaked out and of course bought it. Nice review!

Cracking figure, I'm very pleased with mine. They've done well to fix the tight fitting tapes issue from the Siege mold. The new laserbeak & ravage plus the Frenzy/Rumble mold slot in the chest nicely. The Ratbat mold is a squeeze but 4/5 ain't bad
Head IS actually a remold.
I think I finally figured out the mysterious grey gun that comes with soundwave. I got mine today was playing about with it put it on megatrons back as supposed to but I thought there has to be more to it and why release it with soundwave. The barrel resembles megatrons G1 gun mode yes but folded over in pistol mode I put it in star screams hand and realised the entire gun vaguely resembles megatrons g1 gun mode which soundwave used in the show only modern and spacey. I think that’s what it is it is to be used by megatrons to complete the look but by other deceptions as megatron in gun mode or at least a nod to it.
I don’t know why you wrote another chapter of the Bible to explain that.
You could’ve just said: “the gray gun is probably a nod to megatons original g1 mode”

You can also make a hammer out of his secondary gun if you flip it open and place one of his batteries into the end.
his chest is a little different too. the cassette door is the same but the parts on either side of it are wider. also the head sculps on both cassettes is different. awesome figure i just wish there wasn't a gap above the buttons in cassette player mode =)
I like siege sw bot mode. But I like earth rise colours more. The alt modes of both versions doesn’t really matter to me. Guess I’ll get both versions.
Since the biceps are on a mushroom peg, you can swap the arms between the Siege and Netflix versions at the biceps.

My front panel doesn't want to tab into the legs and I don't know how to fix it
So after I transformed him a couple of times the front panel that becomes the play button it doesn't plug in anymore like it pops back up and its stupid I don't know how to fix this and this is my second copy of this figure

I hope I find this guy soon. Haven’t found him yet in any of my Walmart stores near me, and it getting very hard not to give in to the scalpers. I’m keeping an eye out on eBay for the original price.

For the life of me I can't get the last step of transforming him back to the boom box to tab in, the section with the play/rewind/ etc. I have everything put together as it should but the little tabs keep popping out lol is anyone else having this problem it's driving me batty 😵

Had to this one to my collection a couple of weeks a go.. got lucky and seen only 1 at the nearby Walmart.
Such a missed oportunity to finally update his alt mode, earthrise has been a bucket of missed opportunities actually, with a lot of parts forming
But the whole point of earthrise is to redo the g1 characters with their transformations
