At least they actually can be plugged in more closely to the cassette player for a more balanced(?) & streamlined alt mode. That goofy fold out gun thing though...? THAT will get relocated to either the Netflix Megatron OR the Earthrise Megatron, (IF I EVER find one!) as his G1 looking gun barrel... JUST like I did with Siege Megatron(s) using Soundwave & Soundblaster's goofy weapon things. Definitely suits Megatron better than Soundwave OR Soundblaster...
I too, recently had a HOLY HECK find. I went to my local Walmart that also has been lagging until I grab a box from the top shelf and found a netflex Bumblebee figure. You have no idea how long I've been anticipating and hunting this figure.
Man, this Soundwave is just a shrunken down masterpiece. I have a large collection of G1 mps and was lucky enough to find the toys r us exclusive mp Soundwave on the shelf in toys r us back in 2014 (my "holy sh*t!!! moment) And he came with all the cassettes! I was and still am stoked to have him in my collection standing next to mp Shockwave, mp Megatron, Mp Starscream, and his cassettes among others. Great review! And what a great find!👽👍

I don't often come here and comment, but i wanted to share with you that after seeing your review of Netflix Soundwave, the same thing happened to me in finding only one Soundwave at a Walmart last Thursday. I wasn't planning on going to to a Walmart that day, but I realized I had some essentials that i needed to pick up. I walked in to the toy isle like you did and sticking out for anyone to see was the one and only Soundwave available. I said to myself wow how lucky/blessed am i to actually come across this figure. It just goes to show that, I was at the right place at the right time to actually find one Transformers figure, especially when I had low expectations going in.
I had a Holy Shit moment tonight. I went to my local Walmart and found Earthrise Wheeljack and Airwave for $10 Ea. I never trust Walmart’s pricing so I had a stock person scan them and YES, they were. I was so happy to have them both!
ive been using that collapsible pistol for my megatron as the "gun scope" on his back in robot mode. now i just need to locate one of these holy shit finds myself since i only have the soundblaster seige version.

I got mine last week. This is the definitive soundwave we needed, since the classics back in 06. I just got the Legacy United re-release of this figure that comes with Buzzsaw, Ravage, and Rumble! I am so happy to finally have a Tape Deck Soundwave!!! And he looks great next to Blaster!!

If you put the two blue weapons on the outer holes on the back side, they will keep him from tipping back. Oh, I had the same experience finding him this morning, I was about to give up, when I found him on the other end of the aisle. Someone had unpacked the case in the wrong place. He was the last one I needed. I needed two of each, so my son could have a set. I recommend to keep going back, this was the second one I found at the same store, about 10 days after i found the first.
I noticed when you had him in tapedeck mode, one of the shoulders (foot covers) was a little popped up. I’ve found that if you make sure the back of the leg panels are pegged all the way in first, before you bring the shoulders over the feet, they will clip in better.

Patriot, this is off topic, but a couple days ago I was shopping at Walmart to find Netlix Soundwave and I found a Netflix Megatron that actually had the Siege Megatron in the Netflix box. I know the difference, because I have Seige Megatron and the cool CHROME Netflix Megatron. It is factory sealed box, so it is an error by Hasbro, but is it that rare (e.g. the U.S. Stamp error with the plane upside down)? I bought it and have it just out of curiosity.
Great review ss always. I was wondering, are you a completionist? It seems like you used to pass on some reissues, recolors, etc sometimes. Now it seems like you get everything. Nothing wrong at all with that. Just wondering if you've found your collecting style evolving in the last year or two? Thanks!
For anyone that's listening, get the toyhax labels for the rest of the casseticons like rumble and frenzy, they look amazing They do the whole set justice
They have a peg and slot just like the other part of the arm. While they may not be necessary, to me they help secure the arms. I just flipped them out and maybe they were kept to fill a gap. Other than that, with them flipped out and Soundwave chest down, it looks like some kind of battle platform.
Definitely the G1 Soundwave update we have been waiting for. Agree that we need Buzzsaw (and ideally purple Rumble/Frenzy). And we really do need a Blaster & pals update (TR mold for him and Wave are just too big). Seems Blaster & his pals would be a perfect leader-price set for Kingdom or SS86 (or they could make Blaster a voyager and his friends a deluxe set) but Hasbro just didn't do it. I do hope this Soundwave set is available for a long time like the Netflix wave 1 stuff is still around (and seems to be getting restocked now that wave 2 is hitting). Kinda weird that exclusives are actually easier to get than regular wave 3 Earthrise figures also (never saw Quint Judge in-store).
Good review. I swapped heads, forearms, and weapons from siege to this version. No reason not to have the red stripes on arms amd cannons. I did the head as im more sentimental to yellow eyes toy vs toon but either look great
.......By the way.... I am going back because also tonight they had a G1 reissue of Blaster for $29. I was super surprised that they actually had 12 of just this one figure on the shelf.

Netflix soundwave and laserbeak looks awesome but that ravage is not cause the legs on ravage looks flimsy and his sholders are bulky but it's the transformation.

I figured that out after filming (of course), much better.

Someone bought the Netflix Megatron, sealed the Siege one in the Netflix box, and took it back for a refund.

17:59 If you peg the “batteries” (shoulder cannon and blaster) into the outer ports on the rear and not the ports on his arms, it will stabilize him.
Yep, I should've turned them around when I went to put those in at first.

The landing gears do have a function in the cassette player mode. They keep his arms together.

My walmart had 1, and someone took soundwave and the cassettes and put in a Warpath from 2012 in it and returned it.
