Wow my favourite country. I have been to Portugal quite a few times but never to Lisbon. Thank you for a fab video I will definitely be going there . Also only a two and a half hour flight for me 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
What parts of Portugal you are familiar with? Madeira? Algarve? Those are the most touristy regions. But my country has a lot to show to you. Perhaps you will try other destinations more of the off-beat track? Alentejo is a must.
Your attitude as tourists is one of enthusiasm and very respectul to your host country. You guys set up an excellent example to all travelers. I hope the people who will be inspired to visit my country after watching your videos will bring with them the same level of enthusiasm and happiness.
nice comment, they really make the effort to learn a little about their host country and try to have a real authentic experience. best wishes from crete... ps they did the same here in crete and hope they come back
I advise everyone going to Lisbon, to just walk and walk, everywhere and to every little corner, neighborhood and street. Tourist places are for sure historically important but the magic of this city is in the places, streets, people and food. Go to Alfama, downtown, the river, Chiado, "miradouros", rio Tejo, to the beaches, and so on but do as much as possible. The city has a lot to offer for sure! And at night, bairro alto or some bars near cais do Sodré are great choices
"Live more with less" is such an inspiring consideration. I appreciate that you model this sentiment from dining on sardines to walking the stairs rather than taking the paid lift. The joy is often in the journey. Thanks so much for sharing your journey with us! 🙂
Well said! Everytime we edit these videos together and add the "Live more with less" at the end it's amazing how it forces us to reflect on how the previous days had gone. Thanks for following along, Greg!
1. THE TILES!!!!! I have a real love of blue and white ceramics of any country, but Portugal has it going on!!!!!!! WOW!!! 2. I have no idea how two small people such as yourselves can eat so much food at one sitting! 3. LOVE, love this vlog! It is a beautiful town made even more beautiful through your eyes! Thanks as always! Safe travels!
It is not a Town.. LISBON LISBOA IS THE CAPITAL CITY OF PORTUGAL! Tiles are very traditional and with unique designs in Portugal... you can buy all sorts of souvenirs with patterns in honour of our tiles "azulejos" in Portuguese! Enjoy this lovely country!
I like the value of initial impressions as well as the highlights of a particular adventure. This not only makes your videos unique, but enhances our enjoyment and excitement right along with you.
Hope you’re having a wonderful time in portugal. I really appreciate how you guys share your artist’s point of view of the places you visit. Tiles = sequins. Can’t wait to see your impressions of Sintra.
Ah, I miss the egg tarts from Macau too! The Portuguese architecture in Macau was one of my favorite parts about the island so it's interesting to see it's origins. You two look like you could live in Portugal forever- the colors and patterns there look so stunning.
I'm Portuguese and I'm so honored that you guys liked the trip. Hearing your compliments of Portugal is so heart whelming. I hope you have a good year and if you want to go to Portugal again I can show you another city called Leiria.
This makes me so terribly homesick. I shall kiss the castle walls once I get back. Great video, you're a lovely young couple. Thank you for visiting Lisboa. Safe travels.
Oh you can take a bus to Nazare for the big waves, or go to Algave, down south. Porto is spectacular. Oh yea the worlds longest walking suspension bridge is east of Porto. Hope you guys enjoy your stay
This was a Joy to watch from beginning to end. So well made guys and what a beautiful place! Thank you so much for bringing this to us! Looking forward to the next! 🤩❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤍
Hey Chad and Claire! I'm just passing by to say that I loved your 48 hours Lisbon vlog! You guys really captured the wonderful essence of Lisbon and the pictures shown at the very end look wonderful! Beijinhos from Lisbon.
Hey Erik! Thanks for passing by :) We are so happy you enjoyed the video and found that it captured Lisbon well! Glad you stuck around all the way to the photos at the end as well!
Very happy to be a New Sub to this channel. I always enjoy travelling through other's eyes and experiences, when I can't travel myself. I'm excited to be going along for the ride. Enjoy the world good people!
Love your video! I've been to Lisbon several times and would like to say you got the essence of this city. As a former travel agent I also follow all your other videos about Greece, Egypt etc. which makes me remember a lot of great experiences. Congratulations to you, you did a really good job!!
So nice to see people appreciating my country and a city where I have great memories, especially when I studied University in the heart of the city (Chiado). Great video! If you ever come back, you have to visit other cities, there's so much more to discover.
You have to visit Porto! The oldest cannery in the country is located in Matosinhos, a town a few kilometers from Porto, called Ramirez, founded in 1853. You will still love it more than Lisbon! Unfortunately now the city is a little confused, full of works for the construction of the new Metro line. But come visit anyway!
7:24 **Me running because I'm late to university** btw, I'm not from Lisbon, but I'm living here because of college (you probably walked by it without noticing XD), and Lisbon is NOT calm compared to the city I used to live (also a portuguese city) 7:39 that's because you are close to an fine art college XD 9:00 that depends. Canned food is also a cheap/fast to make food, but some shops take it to the next level, making it delicate and expensive food 13:50 my favorite is "bacalhau à brás", it's bacalhau with fries and egg, but all mixed up. Also the most traditional way is bacalhau with boiled potatoes and vegetables, we eat it every christmas 16:30 many portuguese people (specially people from Lisbon) call "pasteis de nata", "pasteis de belém". Some of them even get mad if you call them "pasteis de nata" XD sorry for the oversharing XD it's just that I don't see many videos of Portugal
We did the same things you did when we were in Lisbon, and we were there at about the same time. Too bad we didn't run into you! One thing I would definitely add is to take the 28 trolley, which starts from a sort of Chinatown at Martim Moniz and goes thru Alfama and then the Barrio Alto, where you can find the best pastel de nata at Manteigaria.
A little factoide, the Portuguese introduce the egg tart to Asia so, when you say you tried the Cantonese egg tart they are actual and adaptation of Portuguese one
Thank you so much for this wonderful vlog. We are planning a trip to Lisbon this summer and this helped a lot. The chemistry between you too is great. Congratulations!
You really do get the most out of everyday and that’s a brilliant philosophy to live by. There’s nothing more satisfying than a day of exploring and living and to be truly tired and worn out from your day. Love you video and love Portugal! Thanks for sharing 🍻
I just rewatched a clip from cloudy with a chance of meatballs on UA-cam and it's absolutely perfect haha. When everyone realized "Sardines are gross" the cannery goes broke.
You guys are very sweet couple and I love to thank you for this video, especially when I think Portugal will be my next vacation destination, thanks again and send you Love from Miami
Cool video. Nice to see how views from tourists are build upon their experience, in my hometown, during the visit. Some points are really off, specially the canned sardines bit it's really not a delicacy "plate"... but it's cool to watch for sure, safe travels.
Not even me from Portugal knew about the story of pasteis de nata and its 1st bakery, i just eat them like everyone else, people that come from other countries are very interested about our culture and ofc food, but for us is something that is normal and some dont understand why "foreigners" are amazed by Portugal, but i agree Portugal is something amazing even though is small thank you for visiting us :)
Have fun guys. I was there in my late 20s back in 2000s. Great architecture. You may want to go on a port wine tour. It will be pricey but surely worth it as its unique to Portugal. Not sure, but there likely is bull fighting (obviously highly controversial). Spain has it as well. The scalped tickets were $200 when I was there. Have fun!
Wow ❤ what a lovely video 😻 I am portuguese and i just wanna say thanks for sharing my amazing country ! i hope too see you both again here in Portugal ❤😘 xx
Small notes: sardines you need to eat with bread...please!!! The ginginha you drink as shot. Not with food. Its not a wine. So glad you liked Portugal!!! Thank you!
Thanks for that trip down memory lane. I was there for the first time in Sept '21 and that country won my heart ❤ it is my favorite country in Europe so far. I hope you were able to explore the South of Lisbon as well
Hey guys! Thank you for sharing my beloved home country and city. Please came back in June when there is a Saint festival all the streets in the historic center are decorated, we have music and the famous sardines are sell on the streets, just grilled with salt and we eat it with bread. But the can food sardine are also good! 🤗❤️

Lisbon tends to do that, being born in that city I have to say that everytime that I lived away in other countries in Europe my heart was filled with saudades from my beloved Lisbon. I'm sure you will visit again, hope that when that happens the city treats you nicely once more
Hey, I’m portuguese and studied in Lisbon for 8 years! You should definitely come again, there’s a lot more to enjoy! Thanks for the video. 🇵🇹

We are so glad you enjoy! We try to balance information, with first experiences, and it's not always easy, but it's a fun to piece it together!
Such a lovely vlog, it really captures the calm and beauty of Lisbon, the photos at the end were stunning.
