  • Bubblehead Divers - Bahamas Expedition with Jim Abernethy. Day 1 at Tiger Beach in January 2024. We had at least 12 different Tiger Sharks, sometimes 6 to 8 at a time, also loads of Bull Sharks, Lemon Sharks and Caribbean Reef Sharks. I spent about five and a half hours in the water that day, it was truly special and was one of the best dives I have ever had. The whole trip was amazing, loads more videos to come including more Tiger Sharks, including having to push them off a good few times, 17ft Hammerhead Sharks and pods of Atlantic Spotted Dolphins. Why these sharks are so calm and not attacking these divers!?

That is what they are usually like if you know how to behave around them and understand shark behaviour. The big tiger sharks normally move slower than the smaller reef and lemon sharks. Normally all you have to do is maintain eye contact with them and that alone is enough to keep you safe underwater. The media often unfortunately makes them out to be mindless killing machines and that couldn't be further from the truth. They are very calm graceful creatures unless provoked, or if you act like a prey item and start thrashing around or turning your back and swimming away at light speed. They are the most beautiful graceful animals. 😎🤙 Thanks for the question if more people asked them we would all be more informed, much appreciated. Have a great day👌

@@bubbleheaddivers thank you for information, very interesting. But, well, suggest air in balloon is almost done and you should get out of water. how safely to do it if you are among these sharks?🤔

@@azamart_hannel5563 Hi again,😃 as divers we always monitor our air consistently to make sure we don't need to rush out of the water, you just ascend slowly and calmly, usually up a line so that you can stay vertical, maintaining global vision and making eye contact with any sharks that may be around. Once at the surface you keep your face in the water so you can see where the animals are until there is sufficient space then get on the boat. There is always someone on the boat waiting for you to help and also monitor any animals that may be in the water with you. To be honest if you ascend slowly then the majority of the sharks tend to stay at the bottom where the bait box and all the action is so its not usually an issue. Hope this makes sense😃 Also I only recommend diving with Tigers if you are very experienced and or with trained professionals. If they do get a bit too close then someone experienced is comfortable in redirecting the animals away from you, but obviously you need to be both confident and experienced to do this, otherwise it would clearly be dangerous. Thanks again and have a good one. Jules 🤙

Thank you for your comment, and you are 100% correct of both counts, it was epic and they are beautiful. It is crazy how the different animals of the same species often have totally different personalities. Tiger beach is a special place!😍
