We're all better when we're together. I long for this band to hit that creative stride one day. I long for their differences to be forgotten. I long for Hey Rosetta 2021 and beyond. Cheers from Calgary.
Well said brother. I spent a year in South Korea and was consistently amazed by how much people in this culture versus our own culture hated to be alone. I didn’t get it at the time but I sure get it now, we are better together.
This song is a Newfoundland treasure! Never fails to make me homesick. Especially those last two scenes: the chorus in the meadow over the rocky shore and the kitchen party! Love this so much.
Bandages by Hey Rosetta has enlightened me to an amazing generation of sensitive, intelligent younger musicians who deserve the recognition that is being served to much, much less talented modern artists out there. My son-in-law introduced me to this amazing video at Christmas & I can't get the band out of my head since. I've listened to a large number of their tunes & damn they are the real deal!!! I am now a true fan & will do my best to let other musicians of my generation that there is still hope for great musicians to emerge out there.... rock on HEY ROSETTA!!!!! :)
I heard Tim perform this in St. John's on a rainy April day after the loneliest winter of my life. A year later, the pandemic tore me away from Newfoundland far before I was ready. The past two years, I've come back to this video every few months to remember the beauty of this band and this land, and the hope that the winter always ends. Thanks guys 🥲
I love how Tim and the band used the Rock as the backdrop and incorporated the people they knew, and the landscape that inspired them. So utterly beautiful. Integrating where you're from and the people you know is a huge skill and results in a bit of wonderful artistry. It continues today in his solo music too. Love everything about Hey Rosetta and Tim Baker. Fabulous.
The fact that this is still bringing me comfort all these years later, different issues and stages than I was dealing with back when this came out, is why I will love this band forever.
There is not a more unique music video, or a more unique band out there then Hey Rosetta!... This video reminded me of the overwhelming natural beauty of Newfoundland... God I miss home...
I'd love to crawl inside Tim Bakers guitar and just live in there. Waking up every morning and hearing another Hey Rosetta! song, now that... would be amazing.
At first I was laughing to myself because of the funny concept of the cutting to different places in the music video, but ended up with tears in my eyes when they sand "April rain" and then the choir in the church started singing and by the time the song came to an end I was smiling to myself. That's what music should do to your spirit ♥
I lived in St. John’s for nearly 3 years in the early 2000s. I can name virtually every place in this video from Leo’s Fish & Chips to Fort Amherst to the MUN Food Court to the George Street Bandshell to the seals at the Ocean Science Centre and on and on. It’s like a trip down memory lane. A small place but a very beautiful one that will never leave me.
The man recording the sound for this video deserves a medal of some kind... Or a hug or something. To have each location sound so seamless and fantastic. Brilliant.
This video is the reason I love this band. I seen you guys for the first time in your early days at a little club in Grand falls, at a Music NL conference. Still have the cardboard EP you guys obviously made yourselves. Now I own vinyls that you guys have put out. Keep growing and never stop. I knew that I seen something very very special that night in Grand falls. Newfoundland love from Halifax, miss the island!
they really bring music alive, have seen them twice now and am looking forward to the third, fourth, millionth time i see them! thank you for representing Canada with such a FANTASTIC sound
Definitely bringing my guitar to Gentlemen of the Road Simcoe stopover, camping, and playing this song either late night or early morning....PERSPECTIVE!!!!!
ONE OF THE MOST SERIOUSLY BEAUTIFUL VIDEOS I HAVE EVER SEEN.. AND A MOST WONDERFUL SONG. THIS IS WHAT MUSIC IS ABOUT. HEY ROSETTA .. YOU ARE POETRY.. THANK YOU.
I was just re-watching this video and thinking about all the different locations that I could recognize that they used for filming. It was a LOT, and they were spread over an area covering a couple of hours of driving time (Signal Hill, The Battery, multiple downtown St. John's locations, mid-town St. John's including the Memorial University campus, west-end St. John's, Brigus, The Ocean Sciences Center in Logy Bay, a boat on Conception Bay, Topsail Road for the Tely 10 runners, and in all honesty, some places I don't recognize with certainty like the setting in front of the rock on the barrens, and is the hilltop at the end the one over Middle Cove Beach?). And if I'm right on which bunkers they were in, they would have had to lug the gear down walking trails to get to them. Filming this must have taken place over a period of days. Amazing.
This video makes me happy in the perfection of the way it captures the spirit of Newfoundland. And it makes me sad in that we will not have another masterpiece from 'Hey Rosetta!
Absolutely one of my favourite songs ever.....epic. Starts off as sad story but finishes strong, like so many of us who have had struggles hope our lives go. So inspired from this piece. Thank you Hey Rosetta for this lovely piece of art and melody! Oh ya....and foot stomping revelry. Cherished.
Wow, this video just put a huge smile on my face and relieved all my stress. Thanks guys, you make me proud to be Canadian, I promise I'll visit Newfoundland soon!
Saw these guys last night at Bowery Ballroom opening up for Gomez and my buddy and I really enjoyed them. Very creative musicians and a solid opening act. This song in particular was a highlight for me and this video underscores their creativity. Great idea, great editing, great song.
@treble41 I don't think this is anywhere near an advertisement, but a band showing love for their home province and thanking the community for getting them where they are today in the music industry. I

I have loved this song for almost a decade. It's a go-to when i'm in my feels. But this is the first time I've seen this video and it's awesome!
The choir at 2:31 is pure class. Nothing but goosebump
Now that's a "music video." For this song, in this way, one requires the other.

Amazing song.
I love Hey Rosetta and St. John's so much.
Still one of the absolute greatest things ever.

How can anyone help but keep Rosetta in your hearts 💕
Come here every now a then. What a great song.
Tim Baker opened for Bahamas last night in Toronto. That man's voice is absolutely incredible. I was blown away. Great work Tim Baker and Hey Rosetta!
Still gold, wish they were still active.
Tim is still active
best video clip
Pure Canadian. Love it. Sums up a road trip to the east coast which is gorgeous!
I'd love to crawl inside Tim Bakers guitar and just live in there. Waking up every morning and hearing another Hey Rosetta! song, now that... would be amazing.
12 years later and the song still hits like it's brand new!! Time for a reunion tour??

This whole video could be used as a Newfoundland & Labrador tourism video.
Amazing song, and beautiful video!
The patience it would have taken to make this happen is so admirable. Good on ya Tim and gang!
its not very often a sing sends shivers down my spine, this song sends shivers down my spine
Coolest video of 2011. Possibly coolest video ever.
When that choir comes in...Heavenly.
the choir sounds great and loving the various city shots
This takes me straight home to NL! It should be an ad for NL Tourism!
What a great freaking video, wish I was there with the band.
I've never been so moved by a video. That was beautiful. My jaw actually dropped, and I started crying. Amazing.
Such a beautiful song, like all their songs. I'm so happy I got to see this band play before they split, absolutely underrated.
Oh... My... So many goosebumps
This song has been in my head all day. Love the video.
This is probably my favorite music video ever. Favorite Hey Rosetta! song as well.

This video makes me happy in the perfection of the way it captures the spirit of Newfoundland. And it makes me sad in that we will not have another masterpiece from 'Hey Rosetta!
His voice is so beautifully fragile.
The more I watch this the more I love it
This makes me homesick, and I'm from Saskatchewan not Newfoundland. Good lord they're good.
