Hey John, good to hve appreciative patrons! LOL! Nice retrospective. Good pro tip about delamination , especially if someone is using an expensive veneer! Keep up the good work!

Great advice regarding the two-step finish process. The transformation was stunning! Your crosscut jig is handy, but I think a radial arm saw would be easier. I use mine for almost everything, including rip cuts.

Great video, Jon! Always love your techniques and teaching skills. Interesting design choice on the grain directions for the front of the cabinets but I’ll never argue with a woodworking wizard. Thanks again for posting!

Thanks! I found out the hard way 😂 I’ll probably make a separate video just on finishing veneer projects so more people can avoid my mistake.

Great video Jon as always never a disappointment. The end tables look smaller actually when you have them in the room. That was pretty interesting. I didn't notice the headboard before you mentioned it Because I'm looking to build one like that like that from your video. Do you have any more videos on cutting molding Like you wrapped it around the headboard? I seem to not grasp That technique you are using. Thank you again.

Thanks Danny, the headboard in Jack’s room hangs on a French cleat. I have another one on my site that has legs and attaches to a bedframe. There are plans and a project video that cover the molding.

10:47 Smart use of styrofoam to get the veneer off the tabletop. Light, cheap, non-marring, supportive. Great for cutting plywood on, too.
Seems like it’d be a lot simpler to paint the plywood used for the interiors before you cut it, then touchup later as needed.

Thanks John! Those Styrofoam sheets always come in handy👍… I thought about that, but I wanted the edge of the edge banding to be painted as well. This paint job was a little tricky but turned out pretty good… not 100% but still pretty good.

Those are slick man... I have an idea to disguise the inner shelf holes... white painted plugs...

I thought I was going to hate the look, but it’s rather beautiful. I wonder what it would look like with a black interior. Well done!

I know it’s not, but the veneered projects have a cheaper IKEA look to them as if they are full of particle wood, imo. I know it’s a preference thing, but I love the walkthroughs, just not a fan of the look of the end products when using veneered.
