  • Young people have a problem with 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆, and older people have a problem of teaching it. And because of that, it became a very dull concept, not interesting anybody, not exciting, and not fun.
In here, it is explained how to replace the concept of 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 with a better concept, skill, reflecting the same content, but with better presentation and more fun.
Japanese people, in Zen Buddhism, use the concept "Gaman" that we translate as discipline. But in their definition it is more than we understand of it. It not only having a rule to follow and being very strict on doing something that we have no fun of doing, no, they mean it " doing things with patience while cultivating the faculty of effortless doing, until the moment we will do that activity without having to think about it, and it stops becoming a work or a burden, but an effortless thing ". It is a process.
Discipline is a word that is not appreciated by young people. And older people don't know how to teach it and make it a fun thing.
So the young generation find themselves in a confusion, that leads them to revolt against the system, without having a prior knowledge How or Why they even do it.
Society needs guidance. It is not through LSD or Chemical Substances that we will experience mystical experience. It is by complete consciousness that we will feel it, it is by Discipline.
The word that frightens the young generation, and makes them run away and embrace its opposite, non-discipline or revolt.
In order to make them appreciate it and embrace, we need to make it a fun thing to do. That's why it's important to replace it with a better term, "skill", and cultivate it as we would cultivate a garden. That way the younger generation would find joy in doing what they have to do.
