Thank you for finding all these recordings and posting them. I lived in Southern Wisconsin and could pick these up on the radio station out of Chicago. The good old days in the 70s, I had received a transistor radio as a gift, it came with the earpiece. Those were good times.
The Trouble with Ruth was/is such a powerful episode that moved me so much as there are people who are kleptomaniacs that cud have made their lives so debilitating and cud have ruined so many but not if u have a great husband like the one here. Crikey i bloody love this show. U Americans were so lucky to have had perfection over the airwaves 5 nites a week with radio programmes like this true classic!! Ps, puttin shows together like this is a masterstroke, so well done to Mr. Upload Dude!!

Names were very different over the decades, and have often been based on family names. Especially for men, naming them after a relative or family names passed down. I've noticed many of these people tend to use a "nickname", as what was popular in one decade is considered archaic in the next. I was not happy with my name when I was younger and still in school. I can appreciate it now but , as a child, having an usual name was not easy growing up in a sea of Linda's, Kathy's, Susan's etc. I'm thrilled now, knowing my parents and grandparents were certain I would learn to love NOT having a common name. They were right. It set me apart and gave people an opening for conversation. Though I didn't appreciate it as a child, as being "different" wasn't always something I could appreciate until I was a bit older, and found it helped me establish a stronger sense of self because it WAS something that in making me stand apart from the "safer", more common names popular at my time, eventually gave me a way of being the individual I was eventually appreciated my mother's creativity. Constantly feeling the need to discuss how I got the name was an ice breaker at the very least. But understanding NOW the importance of having something that set me apart, And made people remember me BECAUSE of that name I sometimes hated, simply because I was shy and resented feeling I owed an explanation when asked where the name originated. Now I love my name and appreciate my mother for giving me the gift of standing out, helping me overcome my intense shyness, among many other unimportant and downright wrong childhood beliefs. That need to avoid being different in any way, but as I matured, realizing that which made me different from the masses was a blessing not a curse. 💜

@@violetfemme411 yes true, I was wondering why name a child after a lady part.😆😆
@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc well, hymen is a part of a woman's anatomy, but I guess they might not have be from an English speaking country.

THE CRACK IN THE WALL STORY REMINDS ME OF 'THE MONKEY'S PAW'. VERY SIMILAR.
