No way! This worked!!!! Long story short: my bub threw our remote into the recycling bin. I managed to get hold of the recycling company and get our remote back (what are the chances?). Then suddenly it didn't want to work anymore. I was on the verge of purchasing a new remote (super expensive) and thought I'd search a reset tutorial. Best thing I have done all day, thanks man!

I found that after unregistering the remote, all the buttons still work. and if you happen to press the center ball, you see a message on the tv that the remote was registered. So I'm not sure what being 'registered' really means

Thank you. My issue is that I have to remove and replace the batteries (which are brand new) to get the red pointer to appear on the TV screen. The battery contacts are clean. I am wondering if there is an issue internally. When I do get the pointer working, it only lasts for perhaps a minute or so. Any ideas ?

Mine says "the magic remote connected successfully" but there's no pointer thingie on the screen showing when you move the remote around. Just got this brand new 75 inch out of the box. This is starting to get frustrating.

My problem is that when I first turn on the tv in the mornings, the pause and rewind doesn’t work on the remote after the television is on for a few min. Then I have to reboot the DVR box and everything seems fine. This has been going on for two weeks now. I’m actually having to do this twice a day. So annoying and frustrating. 😳😳

You can takeout the power cable for 1-2 minutes so the tv can reset this is how i solve the problem with my remote pointer.
