    So, in current environment it's better to stay with treasury bills, we can hold to maturity to avoid duration risk. The treasury bonds on the far end are not paying enough for the duration risk.

      Agree, unless one would be really sad if they miss out on 4.4% 10 yr. I on the other hand am holding out for >5%

    Always informative, timely, and easy to understand presentations! I’m sticking with my T-bill ladder of 6-month Treasuries. Since I always hold them to redemption (and, at least currently, reinvest), I’m cheering for higher yields!

    Thank you for the info! By the way, are you in the office of Roy Berger? Looks similar.

      I do enjoy Rob Berger's videos. I aspire to be as intelligent as he is and capable of explaining things simply when it comes to money and finances. My office looked like a cave when I moved the computer in there so I set up a card table in the bonus room and put the Mac on it to record. We love books at our house so it made for a more appealing background. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    FnS, since what happened to bonds in the Clinton administration, hasn't there been a "Plunge Protection Team" in place for bonds, AKA the Fed?

      The Fed does seem to have an unofficial a third mandate (keeping the treasury out of trouble). They will fuel inflation though if they start buying treasuries right now and inject liquidity into the market. Not sure how much they can protect the treasury right now.

      @@FatherNSonInvesting they can do things behind the scenes to get big money to move in and out of treasuries like they did when the 10 year got above 5% last year, they lowered the rate they were paying in the reverse repo from over 5% down to almost 3%, and the money market funds and others quickly transferred about 2 trillion.

    I wanna buy 4 week treasuries. With Auto roll over. think the April 9th auction. But I'm have an hard time finding them on Fidelity..... Question.... Nearest I can guess you can only see them 2 days before the auction. Otherwise you can't find them anywhere. Is that how it works, help?

    Currently, I have invested in 3 month T Bills and have set them up to reinvest once the T Bill matures. I have also noticed that the 2 year T Note is almost at 5%. Am I correct in assuming that T Bills are slowly going down thus creating an uninverted yield curve? And if the T Bill goes below 5% than it maybe better to look at a 2 year T Note or longer?

    • @FatherNSonInvesting
      @FatherNSonInvesting  2 місяці тому

      I don't think T-Bills are going down anytime before July based on what the CME fedwatchtool is showing for rate cut possibilities. Meanwhile I think the 2 year goes up some more. Looking for 5.3% (It is trying to break above 5% and then I think it may run a little higher after that). So in my mind the uninversion may happen because longer term rates rise rather than the shorter term rates falling (until the Fed decides to lower the Fed rate).

    I honestly don't understand why you're discussing these dubious schemes. There are plenty of options like Eledator and similar ones that are fast and profitable.
