    I was curious about Sydney Grace. Heard many good things about their quality. I didn’t know their pans were magnetic. I’ve never heard anyone mentioning it. Thank you for being so thorough with your reviews always 💕

      Yes! All their palettes are removable. Lauren May Beauty has a video up where she pulls apart her Temptalia collab palettes.

    I love all of your favourite indie brands 😊. I really want to try Cosmic Beauty so I hope Monolith restocks the Serenity palette (fingers crossed) because Cosmic Beauty does no longer ship to Spain. I've been dreaming of getting that palette for almost a year 🥲

      Be quick as they sell out super quickly on Monolith when they do restock. I am sure they will bring it back, just keep an eye out for the date and time of the next Monolith drop.

    This has been a fantastic themed week. I have a much better idea of what I want to try in 2024, as I wish to try more indie palettes.

    Hi Maaike I might dip my toe into Indie brands in 2024😂. Up until now I have mainly bought more mainstream eyeshadow tbh. I like more subtle makeup on a daily basis and I am not all that adventurous re colour, but I would like to try some of the formulas that everyone seems to love. A lot of it is colour story holding me back - I just won’t wear a dark or rainbow palette, nor are warm palettes appealing to me at all. Perhaps in 2024 the indie brands will also decide to drop more cool toned colour stories (like many mainstream brands are currently doing) and I will find something I just really love the look of. Best wishes x

      Indie brands do some amazing things but I can also see why it won't be for everyone. I mean I still love my K-beauty shadows about as much as I do these, but not everyone does.

      Loraine, as a fellow woman of increasing wisdom and life years, I can state I overcame my fear of indie eye palettes this year and I'm glad I branched out. If I want to rock a red Oden's Eye look, I will. For too long, I was scared of looking clown like, but I discovered I actually rock the red. I suggest giving a slightly muted palette a chance and see how you feel. Maybe Maaike might give us a mature skin friendly run down of indie palettes. 😉

      @@kateaye3506 I’m glad you’re rocking that red 👍🏻. It’s not really about looking clownish for me (after all my teens and twenties were spent with multi coloured hair, piercings, tattoos and a very smoky eye 😂), but it’s more about what looks good on me now. With my mostly natural hair colour (a few highlights to blend in the white threads through the blonde) and my ultra pale skin softer shades just look better on me now. My lids are hooded and textured so I’m not too interested in glittery eyeshadow either. Don’t get me wrong that inner rock chick is alive and well - still roaring around on a motorbike and still listening to heavy rock, but how I look has mellowed a fair bit eg a tiny nose stud instead of a chain from nose to ear. I’m not really that bothered about what people think as I am comfortable in my own skin, but just think for myself that less is looking better. I encourage everyone to use whatever they want to use and wear whatever makes them feel fabulous however and if it’s a bright red eyeshadow then that’s great. Best wishes x

      @@lorainemcgillivray77 No worries. My point was far from convincing you to wear red, or fear looking clownish, but that indie quality opens up a new world of possibilities. Just don't cut off what they have to offer. And this is coming from a hard core Chanel beauty fan girl.

    Rumour has it that Sydney Grace will also become available through Monolith. My BF order had arrived in the Netherlands, my restock order from the Christmas in July Sale however seems to be back in LA. Hope I can put those airmiles in my Flying Blue account🤔 Love Nomad, they have some very beautiful colour stories. Glamshop has stunning shimmers and multichromes, but Sydney Grace has my heart. Huge colour range and the ease of use is beyond any other brand. Customer care is also top notch. The only minus for us in Europe is that they are too small a business to get competitive rates with USPS and that that courier is a major let down this past year. But in the end it's worth the wait for me, especially during sales time.

      I was so tempted to place an order from Sydney Grace during their July sale but with customs it worked out too expensive. I try to avoid purchasing from the US because its so expensive. Should I try glossgods or glamshop first?

    • @jslilimauve

      @@zoelynch6308 You cant compare Glossgods and Glamshop with Sydney Grace, theyre all good but different at the same time. I try to order SG only during sale because of the customs and expensive shipping, yes its still a lot of money but I know already that SG is worth it and I feel so happy using their products that I still buy there. Id say - get whatever YOU want, not what everyone else says you should get lol. Its your choice.

      Oooh that would be lovely if they were to do that!

    • @FloatinginDreams
      @FloatinginDreams  10 місяців тому

      @zoelynch6308 it depends on what you like! Sydney Grace has a stunning matte and shimmer formula but fewer 'fun' shifty shades and toppers, especially in their palettes. Gloss Gods has a bit of both, Glamshop has mainly an intense shimmer formula that they do very well. In short, all three brands bring something different to the table. It depends on what you choose from the menu what you should go for.

      Sad side effect of Brexit and not on the retailer but on your local customs office. They are the ones deciding what you pay for the import fees.

      @FloatinginDreams totally agree. Haven't experienced it with other companies such as kaleidos, odens eye, glamshop etc so it was unexpected for me.
