How Gouda Cheese is made in Wisconsin | Marieke Gouda

- Today I toured a classic Wisconsin farmstead located in Thorp to learn how they make their nationally awarded Gouda Cheese. Marieke came over from Holland which is the home to Gouda cheese and shares this amazing cheese with the great state of Wisconsin. Being a true farmstead, this means that the milk they use to make the cheese is produced on site by their very own cows!
I learned a lot during my tour and didn't know so much hard work and careful calculations went in to making this perfect end product. I hope you enjoy the video guys and if you'd like to see more consider subscribing to the channel.

I love how the cows are actually cared for, and aren’t just crammed into a small space, with no consideration for their mental wellbeing. The babies even get little houses! 🥰
One of my all time favorites!
This cheese is AMAZING!!!!! The young gouda is my favorite, but all ages are incredible!!! I am originally from La Crosse but now live in Florida, and good cheese is what I miss the most!!! A friend from the Thorp area was visiting and brought me some of Marieka's gouda to try! Well, I have just ordered $60 worth of Marieka Gouda and cannot wait!! Simply amazing! Thee best cheese I have ever tasted.

That video is amazing. Thank him for supporting farmers!!!
Some of the best cheese money can buy, so glad Marieke opened up the Eau Claire store.
Very interesting watch I’ve just started making my own cheese and I’m hoping to mature for at least one year on them all
This was great, Jonathan. Always enjoy a nice wedge of Wisconsin gouda!

Don’t worry we washed them first! 😉😂
Very informational! Love the video! I wanna come next time and be a professional taste tester! 😂🤣
Haha yesss I had the best job ever, Stevie had to film and watch 😂
That was absolutely wonderful. Sent to Kim-she’ll love it with being a Wisconsin Dairy Farmer. ❤ GREAT JOB to the hostess and to BOTH you and Stephen. Just loved it.
So those cows are not grazing outside in the summer? Grass is what makes the flavor of cheese unique to an area.
Do you have a recipe for home making gouda
Gloves on but when you go elbow deep maybe you need longer gloves
Gloves shouldn't be used at all ffs sophisticated generation of my bollocks....
How come you can pronounce about, how, round, etc. but not Gouda correctly?
This is how everyone outside the Netherlands says it
Parmigiano n 1 Mozzarella n2 Gorgonzola n3 Burrata n4 Pecorino n5 .... Gouda n 57 ...
Go Marieke! Let those Yanks taste a real cheese. 😄
Americans *have* real cheese tho
Where do you hide it? Never seen or tasted a quality American cheese.

Like, plenty of places, just look. Wisconsin also has great cheese.
Also, not American. I'm Canuck, thanks.
Are they an artisan cheesemaker? Or mass producing? Because that is a big difference. Any artisan cheesemaker can make the worlds best cheese no matter where you are from.High quality mass produced cheese, either shipped or produced worldwide, without losing too much quality is the hard thing to do. And my sincere apologies for assuming you are American. Love people from Canadia..!@@DDRWakaLaka
I thought it’s prono “Howda” cheese?
It definitely is, was raised saying it that way but good catch!
Ohbylefad
Home country of THE NETHERLANDS. Holland isnt a country its two provinces of the netherlands..
Nel video non ciò capito un tubo
It's pronounced "how-dah" not "goo-duh"
No it is not.
It’s pronounced HOWDA
It's pronounced gauda and only a certain region uses the name that makes all foodtubers sound even more pretentious
Khowda
A first lesson would be how to pronounce Gouda correctly!
I thought it pronouns as “ How-da” .
