WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ALBUM OF ALL TIME?
Demos Odds And Ends - Tom Delonge
I’m sure people are sick of me talking about this album but it has everything.
Hawaii: Part II
"Trevor Something doesn't exist" by Trevor Something
SebastiAn - Total
Kid A by Radiohead
dude, I'm a few minutes into the video I thought Rubber was just a fever dream I experienced when I was younger. Learning that it was actually real AND Mr. Oizo made it is completely throwing me for a loop 😂 what a legend.
LOL I actually still haven't seen the movie, I really should check it. Also, so pumped for your vinyl reviews :)
Havent seen rubber, but i knew of it.....but its made by mr.oizo???
Needless to say my mind has just been blown 😱
Can I just say the scene in the movie, Rubber with the turkey in the motel room has stayed with me for years! A strange and perfect movie...so glad I stumbled onto this video !!
@@IRAwhiskey its rated r if your a tennager
The movie is ass also are you 10?
Fuckkkk nobody talks about Mr. Oizo, thank you!!!
I GOTCHUUUU HOMIE
What's the best? A very untalented artist going all over medias? Or a real talented only known by his fans?
Jeez, I was not expecting for you to also cover Mr. Oizo!
I do have to say you did an excellent job making this analysis video on one of my favorite albums from notable french house artists!
You’re the best!
dude thanks so much! this video was a long time coming, mr oizo has shaped my musical taste so heavily since discovering him in the late 2000s.... idk what id do without him lol. hopefully this video can introduce him to some new listeners!
Positif is one of the greatest songs of all time.
ITS AN ULTIMATE BANGER
totally agree!
BANGER it's 6 in the morning here fk it getting a play!
I just got a shirt that has flat Eric on it that says “stay positif” and I love it so much
Image saying "I'm listenting to GAY DENTIST"
killer track. so good
Imagine singing the lyrics to 'Bruce Willis is Dead' :D
That`s nice teeth wot you got there.
So racist
he cleans some teeth and he kisses some men
One of my favorites ever. When I was younger I’d listen to Lamb’s Anger, Digitalism’s Idealism, Daft Punk’s Homework and Justice’s Cross back to back :) good times
Digitialism Idealism
@@helloimalexanderF-i-r-e-i-n-C-a-i-r-o.... 😁
My God, finally someone understands me.
Thank you for giving Mr. Oizo some spotlight! I'm a huge fan of his work, my personal favourite of his would have to be Moustache (Half a Scissor). He manages to bridge the gap between IDM and EDM which I haven't seen many artist do, making his tracks really experimental without losing that "dancablity" to them.
Same, that album is perfect
ok here is a curious piece of data i found out on my own a little while ago: flat eric appears in the game crossy road as a playable character, and when you select him the entire world takes a kind of musical dive.
is super endearing and cool, i love playing with him, and even more so while listening to the wonder that is lambs anger, is just great.
Ive been a Mr Oizo fan for over 10 years and watching his evolution since then has been wild , Lamb's Anger is amazing but for me its a tie between it and Analog Worms Attack and both are between my favorite albums of all time.
Great vid Pad I would love to see you analyze M-Seq and Analog Worms Attack that would be bomb to see your opinion on the tracks and those crazy analogies like you did here, eager to see what you upload next tho.
dude thanks so much! I eventually want to do a whole thing on ed banger records :)
Mr Oizo’s Civilization by Justice remix is one of the most underrated pieces of electronic music. People shat on it on youtube but I find it absolutely amazing
I think the only reason people hated it on UA-cam is because the UA-cam version fucked up the mixing, so the panning from left to right was all wonky, and you could only really hear the music in one ear.
mr oizo's whole discography is just this:
it sucks but i love it
I'm so glad you got to cover Mr. Oizo on your channel. I grew up listening to allll of his tracks since my early teenage ('93 french boi) just after finding out about Ed Banger through DJ Mehdi's "Pocket piano", and of course Justice who was exploding in France with Cross.
Huge tracks that really mattered to pin how I could start exploring all these ranges of sounds and genres.
Never thought it would also mean that much to someone so far, cheers !
dudeeee yes!!!.. when I look back obviously discovery by daft punk was huge for me but nothing really quite captured me like the ed banger sound, especially lambs anger
@@PadChennington Of course Daft Punk played a major role with me too, and particularly with Discovery... damn, what an album. And Interstella 5555 managed to put the final nail in the coffin !
Nightvision bewitching ambiance, Something about Us which became 'so special' to a f-ing TON of us poor teenage souls haha, the blaring energy of Digital Love's guitar solo, ol' wacky Short Circuit fading to the softer -bit crushed- side, ... man I could go on and on.
Really appreciate your work !
Such an amazing video, incredible how you could talk about one of my favorite artists, and also one of my favorite albums
One of my favorite albums of all time, randomly grabbed it when it came out and it blew me away
im thinking of copping the CD right now actually lol. got the vinyl, but why not
I have this album on my wall and I’m amazed someone is talking about it 2020. One of my favorites for sure
absolutely incomprehensible thumbnail + title combo
This analysis made me very happy, it's not everyday someone takes the time to dissect an album in my favorite genre. Total by SebastiAn is my all-time favorite album for a lot of the same reasons you love Lamb's Anger. I recently watched a review of Total that made me upset because the reviewer just kept saying "it's just a noisy Justice wannabe," so I sincerely thank you for giving Lamb's Anger as much thought as you have!
Without this guy I probably wouldn't have fallen in love with writing music so hard
I knew of Oizo from back in the late 90’s but I’ve left it until today to truly fall down the sonic rabbit hole that is lambs anger, I’m fucking mesmerised!
One of my favourite albums of all time is "Psychic" from "Darkside" - it just sucks you in and you can't escape this mesmerizing soundscapes.
Oh my god I remember when analog worms attack was humorous. I just love the ed banger label. Lambs anger has alot of treats. For me it's the bizarre sounds that every sound gives. A lovely album frankly
ed banger has to be my fav label of all time... justice Mehdi oizo... busy p.. just straight up killaz
@@PadChennington you cant not mention my boy seb
My favorite track on Lamb's Anger is Jo
I really dug this album when it came out and still enjoy to listen to it once in a while.
Ive been listening to that album for a year now and Im sooo happy that you made a video about it , and I have to say I really agree with you about "two takes it" and "steroids"
happy to find someone who can relate! and yes, this album is an absolute gem, this video has been a long time comin!
One thing you don't go into are all the weird "references" to other media that happen all over the album. Obvious ones are the cover art referencing Andalucian Dog and "Two it Takes" referencing Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock. Also I always thought of "Bruce Willis is Dead" as some sort of a nod at L.A. Style's 1991 dance track "James Brown is Dead". The two tracks are just similar enough to make a connection, but different enough to make you think you're crazy for making that connection.
The razor cutting the eye scene is there to tell the viewers to observe the film with a pair of fresh eyes, literally telling them to be open minded about what a film can even be, and mr. Oizo perfectly used it as a reference on his album art
broo don't diss on Rank that song is fire
Erreur Jean and Blind Concerto too, they're all bops
after not listening to it for like 5 years, I literally just gave it another listen last week. weird
I love the texture of the track lambs anger, and I love error jean, Blind Concerto, gay dentist, jo... Actually, I love all the tracks on that album (if you only count the music, lars von sen doesn’t count)
And as a french myself, I feel proud that we have such great artists in our country! :P
In the end, this was a good video and lambs anger is an amazing album.
two takes it is amazing
I’m still super into Ed Banger, and it took me a while to get into Oizo, but I remember being hyped for All Wet.
YEA CUZ OF SIRIUSMO
I’m french and you make me smile when you read french names :D
This album was insanely influential to the forming of my taste as a teenager. Cool to see a video doing justice to this.
Surface-level review. There's a lot to this album, producer, and sample sources.
After watching this video, listening to the album front to back, then watching this video again, I can say that I think it is overall very solid.
this album has so many bangers
I have revisited this video like twice now. I don't know why. Maybe there isn't too many on youtube that are talking about Mr Oizo. Or maybe it is just a really good video. Maybe it's both.
Analog Worms Attack and subsequent albums from Mr. Oizo have been one of my biggest musical inspirations.
There's something twisted I love about being slightly wonky, wrong, or unconventional. It's a fun challenge sent out to the listener.
Like, "yeah I could do something that your brain likes according to the exact science of sound, but how about THIS?"
Heyo this just popped up on my feed.
So nice to see someone praising an album I love that I can’t get anyone else to listen to.
Have to say I disagree with you on Two Takes It but different strokes and all that.
Once this one wraps up I’ll head over to your channel and check out some more of your content, thanks for a great upload
wow i need more content like this...give me more
Thanks for this video! I’m amazed by Oizo’s music and films. A lot of my friends can’t understand it and I don’t even try to explain. What a genius he is. He breaks every rule you can imagine throws trash in that “machine” and makes ART out of it. And everything sounds so good and creamy. Have you got any idea what gear he uses? He says it’s Logic and a laptop nowadays but I never believe that!
RESPECT. Love this album
Kuenteen Dupiough hahaha as a French person this kills me
Great video as usual!!
LOL i know :( thank you though!
I'll never forget how I stumbled across Gay Dentists during my Daft Punk phase and be like, what the fuuuuck? So glad I was able to remember the name of the song because a year later I would be jamming to this album because of that
amazing track
"Turn off the light, read a book" got my ophthalmologist triggered
Fun Fact:Lambs Garbage (Unfinished) is a preview on the album Unrelased Unifinished Unpleasant [2002 - 2012] for a tracks no released in Stade 2,Nazis,Lambs Angers & more
Fact 2:in Lambs Garbage plays one remix on transexual so the real name is Bisexual and use samples for Pepa & Pepa,Coco and others
Nice to have some videos about him in English lol. Not that French isn’t normal for a French musician, it’s just nice to have stuff I can understand lol
Daft Punk.
Justice - The younger brother
Kavinsky - The dad who travelled from the future
Gesaffelstein - The evil cousin
Sebastian - Neighbourhood friend
Mr. Oizo - The wacky uncle who everybody loves.
Personally my favourite album of Mr. Oizo (who just so happens to be my favourite artist of all time) is Moustache (Half A Scissor), but Lambs Anger is a definite tie for second with Analog Worms Attack. That being said, out of those three, I have the most enjoyment and nostalgia listening to Lambs Anger. I agree with you that some of the tracks are kind of so-so, but the other parts of the album are so much fun to (re)listen to.
I thought this was such a good video; fantastic job :)

I've met a brother with this video
Love you from france
Love "kwentin depew"
Great job!

When I found about Lambs Anger I freaked out, it was so good! I even made a launchpad set of Jo
And my fav tracks from the album is "Gay Dentists" and tbh "Lambs Anger" too cause goddamn, it's a fun track!
that's awesome! I feel like Z would be the best song to make a noise pad out of, all those sounds would be a ton of fun to chop up
@@PadChennington Oh hell yeah! Nice idea, might try to do it
Oh yeah, Rubber was a film that I watched that one time. Also: this record is fucking sick, thank you for pointing it out to me.
I'm into extremely weird films, and Rubber is on the weirder end of things with all of it's strange-ass metanarratives. I can't guarantee you'll enjoy it, but you will probably find it interesting at least.
definitely gotta check it!
For the love of god, do a video on Moustache (Half a Scissor). I feel like I'm the only person who acknowledges this album's existence, and I'm starting to think I might have just imagined it. Its also just so bizarre and unlike anything else, and I'd love to hear your opinion on it.
STADE 2 NEXT!!!!! That's my favorite.
Rank always reminded me of a twisted Prince of Persia
Good to see fellow fans of the Oizo!
he needs more recognition!
Pad Chennington Sure does man!
Album cover is a tribute to "Un Chien Andalou", famous film by Buñuel and Dalí
yep! have you ever seen the film?
@@PadChennington Yes I have, of course! :)
I wonder how you find all of these albums
Oh, Had no idea he was the one that directed Rubber.
I recommend the JFK edit of Gay Dentists. I believe Oizo considered it a “finished” version of his original: ua-cam.com/video/0c53xe2UyPM/v-deo.htmlsi=tJVYxNUD2J2dOFEu
Thanks for making this. This album has also had tremendous influence on my life.
I’ve only ever heard Positif, I’ll have to check the rest of the record! I’ve heard or seen anyone else know about Mr. Oizo
let me know whatcha think :) some bangers on there most definitely
Hell yeah dude! This album is fantastic, I've never understood the critic hate on it. I definitely see how what critics don't like is what others like about it tho. I can't believe you don't like Two Takes It or Erreur Jean those fuckin slap my man, different stuff for different people I guess. 100% agree with what you said about the rest of the tracklist. You should listen to neo wax bloom
I love that album
It's too diffucult to give an answer because I have many favorites albums of all the time.
Thanks, i wouldn't have listened to this if it wasn't for you
Incredible my dude 💖
When doing music is a vital need for the artist.
Nice vid BTW.
Next is Sebastian.
Hun is so gooood. all so great.
so good
For anyone watching i haven't heard it yet ima go listen to it and come back and give my opinion bc why not
THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR GVING MR. OIZO ATTENTION!
Everybody's dancing, no matter what! Trudat!
I LOVE Oizo and Lambs Anger, but if I had to pick a single favorite album of all-time, I think it would have to be "Ænima" by Tool.
My copy of lambs is still sealed
Analog wormz is probably my favourite album of all time its truly underrated
Stade 2 is my favorite!
So weird. I never head this album, and just listened to it. It is experimental sounding, yes, but very easy to get into. In fact, most songs are pretty catchy.
The good and the bad, which is also good.
Interesting note:
Listen to "Future" by Four Quarters Boyz
Mr Oizo likes to play this live, and I can see why. It reminds me of mr oizo so much
Dude this is great x
thank you!
I really do not understand the analog worms attack being far away from flat beat it was VERY easy for me to get into it after hearing flat beat back in the day. But either way great lil docu
I watched this video before and after listening to the album and it is God tier. One of my favorite ed banger releases up with Cross by Justice and Total by SebastiAn
man I'll be honest amazing work on the video but it feels empty without some example cuts of the songs. I know it's youtube's fault that it can't be there and it's so sad
THIS ALBUM RULES
I did a really unfocused music video for Lambs Garbage (Unfinished) a while back and I'd love if you watched it!
This is ittt! ua-cam.com/video/SzFHB5ktF-U/v-deo.html
Classic album, this is honestly the last thing I would ever expect you to like this much lol
always wanted to do something on oizo, so why not just make a whole thing about my favorite album :)
This and and The Church are my favorite album the church is definitely the juiciest tho
Neat review
You should have asked me for the french Names since i'm french
Do you have project to make some more videos with the artists of EdBangers ?
I could definitely do that! Any artists you’d love to see?
@@PadChennington On EdBangers ? I would say Justice , Cassius maybe breakbot and a review of the album All Wet from Oizo could be really cool
love. love. and love.
im actually gonna be doing one on DJ Mehdi soon so stay posted :) ill cya then!
@@PadChennington Nice !
1:26 HEY MOM
It's a 10/10 IMO
i thought this had more informations instead of the most said sentence......... ITs the greatest Album for me. its the greatest Album for me. its the greatest Album for me.
and instead of your fun while spelling names wrong... use your time to find out how..
I agree this is a great album, but are you not allowed to use audio examples in this video?
Like is this because of copyright strikes or something?
Serious question tho...
Not tryna be a dick or anything. ❣️
yep, don't want to get any strikes on the channel! Also, would rather send my viewers over to the artists themselves to listen to their music on whatever platform they have the music on
Pad Chennington Ah for sure! Thanks for replying 🙂
Great review btw 👍👌
The samples on W remind me of the Frank Zappa album Jazz from Hell, which I'd recommend to people who are interested in some more outdated weirdness. It's got cheesy cutting-edge-for-1986 samples, an approach to melody that doesn't come from dance music and a certain Gene from Bob's Burgers sound effect goofiness.
As a fan of oizo from a young age(my dad was a dj for a bit and was always into music) and recently getting into zappa I've realized how close some of the music ideas are in terms of the effect they can have on the listener.
Bro say something about justice,I KNOW that YOU KNOW that they're fire
just to clarify, do you like all of justice's studio albums or just cross? this can be a very mixed bags of opinions. personally, i like all of justice's albums. from the amazingly outperformed cross, to the generally poorly received woman. to me, they all sound really good. each album has its own quirks and i think they all succeeded on what they're trying to accomplish.
with that being said though, i'll have to say cross is still my favorite studio album. there's just so much experimentation in that one album that is just absent in their future releases. not that's a bad thing, but that was also what made justice so incredibly unique in the first place.
This is a great album. It is so weird. That’s why I like it.
early on you say that he solely uses mr oize. maybe you arent aware yet of the brilliance of the duo act of quinten and boyz noize calle handbraekes. tehy dropped #3 last year i th ink. 1 is my favorite but its all just fantastic. the Qat is one of my favorite oizo track of all time.
Oh glad I saw this, I have felt the same way about this album! Honestly Im addicted to analog worms, and its fat wobbling synths and samples. Lambs Anger was so much more digital and gritty, and to some people thats not their thing, but, I love my electronic aggressively manic!! people who dont get the music dont get the.. spirit of it! The energy! The rebellious experimentation!.. cant lie.. two takes it was my favorite track because of the attitude! And erreur Jean was absolutely the hardest song made with what seems to be.. dot matrix printers ever!! Steroids remix.. better in a few ways.. but love original! So much f you attitude in it! Agree and disagree about guest tracks but Im so happy you like.. get it, man!!! So good!
oh yea
