Just ordered the Thor GT to VESC kit, motor adapter, HS superflux, mounts, and the Ava spark kit for LEDs and plug adapters. Excited to say the least!!
Tip from a plumber/sparky. Dont compress the sillicone while wet, you are destroying the seal. Use an o ring under the ring and coat that in sillicone. Now you have a compressiblle gasket that will seal regardless. Use teflon tape on the thread and it eliminates the concentric leakage path ( the screw ramp ) and if concerned at all about motor connevtors use self fusing tape over them. 100% water/dust proof and easy to remove later if required
The toolbox 😂😂 But that’s an excellent kit, finally! Do you calibrate each controller individually or do they all get preloaded with the same settings?
Overengineered toolbox lol. Yes, Each controller goes in the test fixture and does the motor detection and imu calibration individually, then, it is loaded with the refloat config and tested.
So everythig is working. However on the bms with your bms applocation I am only getting 16 cells to show on bms app. You show 18 batteries , mine shows 16. Why
So on the bms app, there is no live information, it all defaults to 100 percent. I get 16 lottle battery cell pics and it should be 18. The only think thaat working is the logging. UNder the logging tab it shows all the info for 18 cells with voltage but real time status page doesnt seem to work well. I just hope this bms doesnt drop me, not alot of feedback on it because its new. Has this bms been tested hard with gtfo kit for hypeercore motor..
If I buy the thor 300, bms and avaspark bundle kit, it woll work with stock gt motor. If sso will the torque and power be on par with the gtv kit. Stock controller isnt too great for a 210 pound dude with hills.
I installed the gtfo kit with hypercore motor. its been all good till today. Now all of a sudden im getting 3 beeps from the thor, especially when curb nudgng or deweighting board for tricks. Just started doing this today.
Looks like it's sensor fault when you take your foot off the stompie. Which is a normal warning. It could be something else too. You can observe the AppUI and see what the fault is or you can go to Terminal tab and type faults and go from there. Post your response on Discord and we will help you :)
I ordered the GTFO kit and realized the BMS is for stock battery only correct? So if i want an 84v i need a different bms? Thank you for all your hard work!
@@surfdado Why can you not use a GT motor with this BMS? It doesn't state that anywhere on the site. I just bought one of these because I have a bypassed BMS that seems to of stopped working. Board turns on when plugged in and can see vesc tool but bricks when it is unplugged. I bought one of these BMW'S specifically for a stock GT with a thor300
@@Fungineers amazing I am so sold! I will definitely need to look around on how to properly tune this for the low riders. I am new to VESC so any advice would be wonderful.
Respectfuly intended, but axle bolts should be a high carbon steel as they dont flex, titanium is not a good bolt choice for an axle as its very flexiblle, strong though
The motor connector wires and Thor Connectors don’t have matching colors. Thor has blue, green, and one has nothing. The motor wire has 2 grey colored taped wires and 1 yellow. None of them match. 🤷🏻♂️
Hey, the grey ones are acutally blue and green (quite dark tho). So match the colors and we should be good. For any issues send an email to support@fungineers.us
So actually. The logs are skipping cells 10 and 11. It goes from cell 9 and skips to cell 12 in the logs. ALso on the little cell graphs its missing cell 17 and 18. So either way it shows only 16 cells and it should be 18. Now im not trusting the process.
This can happen for 2 reasons: 1. The balance connector isn't connected properly 2. Bms is not reading properly in which case it needs a hard reset (remove all connectors and reconnect). If that doesn't fix it, the bms needs to be replaced.
@@Fungineers So I did what you said twice. ONe time it flashed the extra 2 cells for a split second and then dissapeared. All the plugs and balance connector were spot on. Ot chared out to 96 percent according to the vesc tool at 96 percent. I cannot use this bms with glitches. So what can we do.
@dbirds21 the bms doesnot have any control over discharge so it doesn't control rider behavior making it safe. But you should fix it as it might not take a charge if the bms senses something off.
We can skip the programming part now?! Maybe i can start recommending this to my less tech-savvy friends lol
Yep, that's the big update!
waiting for the funwheel 2 with the Thor 400 pre programmed 😍 maybe instead of x7 kit or x10 u can call it the T4 kit 😎

I'm a bigger dude and I will be enjoying the high-torque GTFO kit here in the next month. My board just broke in Tahoe so time to step it up!
When installing the smart bms, why do you not connect the communication wire coming from the controller?

Can I just buy the Thor300 GT Vesc for $350? Or do I need to buy the battery and other accessories?

Do I have to use the superflux? Can I just pop the skit in and use my existing motor, or another alternative like the MTE?
You can use the connecter form Avaspark that will allow you to connect the gt motor to the adapter and the adapter directly to Thor!
What happens if you do not disconnect the rear stock LED lights and use the them?
It won’t work at best or break something at worst
I ordered the GTFO kit and realized the BMS is for stock battery only correct? So if i want an 84v i need a different bms? Thank you for all your hard work!
That's true! The bms only drops in and connects to the original 18S battery with the original gt connector.
@@Fungineers Would the BMS work with a Chibattery replacement GT battery?
@sross0830 as long as it's an 18S2P and the connectors and the balance wiring is the same!
Larger cells too
One for the xr plz!!!!😢
Fungineers X7 is based on the XR right now. Get the controller box, battery and motor and everything is completely compatible with the XR.
Can I keep the gt motor with this kit.
No, that would be the GTV Kit you’d want

Yes absolutely. Just have to load the W rails tune
