      Thank you very much for your comments. One of my best friends from the Marine Corps lived there and unexpectedly passed away. He gave us the stories about the area and we hoped this would honor him in a way. So much great history in your area!

    I am soooo loving this channel! It seems like every episode touches my life in some way. My son's Navajo tribe is from here in Shiprock. I lived in New Mexico for a year and have been to these sites. It is so pretty there!

    In another navajo story a monster lived on top and twin warriors climb to the top and destroyed the monster. In Navajo stories if you see lava rocks that are bright red. Then giants lived and died in that area. The lava rocks are the giants blood.

    Ended up here after watching another video that mentioned Shiprock, saying that it was a very powerful place full of energy. I am not surprised to learn its the core of an old volcano! One look at it and that was my guess! But why oh why would anyone want to climb it??!! 😱 Its so HIGH!! Are people allowed to go look at it?

    • @familytreenutshistorygenealogy
      @familytreenutshistorygenealogy  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching Sarah! Yep, you can certainly go look at it & climb the areas around it but just don’t go up near the actual rock itself. It is a breathtaking place that is very important to many of our friends.

    In the town of Shiprock, there is an adult store and right across-the-street, a religious billboard with a picture of Jesus and big letters, JESUS IS WATCHING. The billboard faced the adult store, so one wonders what Jesus was watching.
