- Junk Journal January - Day 28 Prompt “Sealed” #artjournaling #creativechallenge #junkjournaljanuary
I am thrilled to be part of the collaborator line up for this year's Junk Journal January challenge.
Sealed Memories: Junk Journal Time Capsule Tutorial. Today's Day 28 theme is "Sealed," and I've got an enchanting project to share with you. In this tutorial, we'll create a beautiful junk journal time capsule using vellum, faux seals, and dried flowers. This unique keepsake is perfect for preserving special moments, thoughts, or dreams that you want to revisit in the future.
Materials You'll Need
Vellum paper
Faux wax seals
Dried flowers
Decorative paper for journal pages
Ribbon or twine
Adhesive
Scissors
Optional: Stamps and ink for additional decoration
Using Your Time Capsule:
This junk journal time capsule is more than just a pretty craft - it's a vessel for your memories and thoughts. Here are some ideas for using it:
Write down your current goals and dreams to revisit in the future
Preserve mementos from a special event or trip
Record messages for your future self or loved ones
Capture your thoughts on significant life moments or milestones
Remember, the beauty of this project lies in the anticipation of opening it later. Choose a meaningful future date to unseal your time capsule and rediscover the memories you've preserved.
Happy crafting, and may your sealed time capsule hold your most precious thoughts and moments until you're ready to revisit them!

I really like the time capsule idea. What a creative way to approach the prompt sealed.
W😱W…definitely an enchanting time capsule‼️
Great belly band ideas.
What a lovely idea these time capsules of yours are! To write a note to your future self.... how brilliant! I loved what the ending of your note said.. to love yourself as others love you. Great advice! Thank you Steph, for sharing your beautiful creations with us all today!🥰✨️🌺🙋♀️
Lovely idea. I loved your example of writing “War & Peace “.
Life before the Internet...that dates us 😂 love this idea of a time capsule in my journal. Thanks ❤

Awesome video, Steph! We need more Welsh crafters!

Thanks so much Sarah 😊
Love the sealed flowers!
Thanks so much! 😊
Inspiring tutorial. Steph! I love the tag booklet with the beautifully decorated tag hinged on the front. The dried flowers are so delicate and lovely. I am happy they are on the flap on the outside of the bellyband. I’m learning to find beauty in my tiny scraps. So thankful I found you! ❤
Aw thanks Laura. I really enjoyed making this little envelope
Beautiful!
What a great tutorial, Steph! I've never used a 'belly band' before, and now I actually know what it means! lol - it takes a while to pick up all the 'lingo' I think. I love the multiple ways that you've looked at the 'seal' prompt and REALLY LOVE the time capsule idea! I'm definitely going to do something along these lines - this has been inspiring! As I think I've said already, I'm behind schedule, so I won't be able to do anything quite as complicated as this, but some really great ideas for the future, and I am determined to get a belly band in my next journal, if not this one! Thanks so much for all your hard work, what a gorgeous page you've created!
❤
Thanks so much! 😊
I'm sure I have no imagination. I can't understand how you embossed such a large piece of paper for the bag. Are you not using a Big Shot embossing machine? Such a large paper wouldn't fit without folding and then every other side would be debossed. Can you tell us how you embossed that large sheet of Amazon packaging?
You’ve got me thinking now! I’ve got an embossing folder that’s almost A4 but I do fold my sheets and then cut them along the creases so that I use them the right way up. I hope that makes sense?
@@hilltopviewjournals I didn't know they made large embossing folders. I may have to look into this!!! Thank you.
Very inspiring! I have yet to do this prompt. Will tackle it later today, TFS
Have fun!
